Join us at Yeovil as the Pathfinders "The Way-Farer Train" picks up more passenger for its tour down to Weymouth Quay on May 2nd 1999. Those were the days of signal boxes, semaphore signals and little fencing at stations and car parks. Featured is the arrival, loco and stock movements and open window climb as the 37 thrashes up the incline on its way to Weymouth Quay. The track has been lifted down to the Quay in 2021

Those were the pre-covid days, where Spotters could roam freely , like the wild beasts they are lol. First time I've seen a 'distant dummy/ ground signal. Window hanging bashers galore. What great times they were. Everything has gone too sterile and safe these days. Thanks for sharing Mike. Hope your keeping well. 👍😎🐢

Interesting day out. That was some complicated shunting. I'm surprised those Class 73s lasted all day in diesel mode without overheating. The semaphores at Yeovil PM are still there, only now they're upper quadrant!

I don't think that the 73s were running, that's why they lasted !

@@steveluckhurst2350 the climb up Pen mill, you can hear that it's only the Tractor doing all the work. 73s all show, no go . Great vid isnt it.

@@ianjones4116 It is indeed. The 73 is still a great locomotive though. Dual mode was innovative thinking in 1960 !
