Theres some translation bs and I missread bp. Squeezer is an ink consumption nerf, bp is a spread nerf (lol) and storm is a healing buff for standard fire.
@@VanillaVictini Nintendo fixed the translation. It now says "Damage taken while within the area of effect of YOUR OWN team’s Ink Storm will recover more quickly, even when not submerged in ink."
im getting an odd error editing the post but ignore "for standard fire" its just a healing buff if your in your teams storm, ill explain in tmrows vid@@VanillaVictini
NOTES since the Eng Post was semi mistranslated - Foil Squeezer long shot got a 9% ink consum nerf and Ink Storm heals in YOUR OWN Ink storm. Overall they added a couple more gimmicks per weapon (Undercover Jump buff, Ink Storm Self-Healing) and some good nerfs (Splattershot/Squeezer) so honestly I think this patch might be a banger? Pencil is definitely getting a nerf next season thought they can't get away with it this time.
Trizooka and Pencil still need a small nerf, but outside of 170p on more weapons and the obvious Zapinator in the room, this was a very good patch (Salty about Stamper nerfs though)
@@MeloniestNeonim so mad abt tri and stamper istg it feels like every patch is designed to make me stuffer every time i wanna pick up a new weapon it immediately gets nerfed. Or the weapons i was previously maining gets nerfed legit fr almost every update a weapon i play gets nerfed
As a Tri Nouveau main, I got hopeful for even special points again when I saw Zap's nerf, but my heart sunk when I saw they nerfed Tri too. And it sunk even farther when I found out they nerfed literally every relevant cooler weapon other than pencil, what are the devs thinking with this
I genuinely have almost no reason to play tri nouveau at this point. Tri was my main in 2 and its kit in 3 wasnt great so i was waiting for nouveau only to be disappointed by fizzy (i dont like fizzy but its not bad) and then got even more disappointed seeing it get nerfed like 4 times with points for special. At this point ive dropped tri i just dont enjoy using it anymore especially not if its likw this
Honestly I just hate playing against tri-slosher players so I don't mind it, but yeah 210 is kinda harsh when you're supposed to be an "aggressive cooler option." It's basically forcing an aggressive weapon to spam fizzy in the mid-lines and only push when you get cooler, which only makes gameplay more boring. Maybe tri can still work in a double cooler comp with snipewriter or something, but yeah it's a pretty unjustified nerf. Good luck with your future gameplay and I'm sure with some changes to playstyle you can still makes tri-noveau work at top level
I think the reason N-Zap got buffed wasn't because of N-Zap 85, its because of N-Zap 89. I think they want to make the more aggressive kit more viable without buffing chump for some reason.
Lowkey if this balance patch just swapped the buffs for N-Zap and Undercover it would be fire but instead we have two silly buffs which are silly for opposite reasons Oooh I am so down for that Ink Storm Buff! I hope its not problematic competitvely cus for casual play that seems so fun
Don't sleep on flingza roller now. It can actually play like the swiss army knife roller its supposed to be and especially with a second aggro kit could see some real use
My E-Liter can FINALLY have rain back! I missed rain SO much! And now it heals too! I think rain E-Liter was already good personally and now it got a buff! If anyone knows the sub let me know. So excited to finally have another E-Liter. I'm pretty certain I'm gonna prefer the rain one.
Yeah pretty much had the same thoughts as you with this patch, but there are a couple of things I disagree with 1. While the Nzap buff is unecessary, it isn't nonsensical. How I always thought of the short-mid range (automatic) shooters was that 52 was built entirely for combat, splattershot neutral, and nzap entirely for paint. I think nintendo is trying to encourage players to instead see nzap as an aggressive painting alternative to splattershot. This makes the nzap less boring to play and play against (and 89 users get a sweet combo with super chump, which it honestly needs.) 2. neo sploosh and bamboozler special buffs are nice. While wail is kinda a pain in the ass, a 170p wail to use to push with is nice for not just you but your whole team (besides sploosh is too bad of a main weapon to ever be used in competitive, so let the casuals have this one.) Bamboozler is also going to not be played in comps with snipewriter, so your cooler option is going to likely be more aggressive. As 200p is kinda hard to get on bamboo, having a slightly cheaper special to combo with gives it a little extra close range utility. 3. As mentioned in the video, ballpoint change is a rng nerf, not a paint buff (though you mention it in the pinned comment, thought I'd still put it out there for anyone who saw my comment but didn't read yours.)
I don't like the brella buff. As it is, sorella brella already plays more supportively as an inkjet farming weapon, so having just the primary fire, not even the shield, consume less ink doesn't really help it for fighting all that much, and mostly just facilitates its special support playstyle. Until we get an actual damage buff I don't think we're gonna get the aggressive brella that we had in splatoon 2 back. Still have no clue why they nerfed it so hard in the first place for damage, fighting was the main reason people played it. Without the ability to fight it's just a undercover that can live longer (even has the same painting range and similar fire rate)
7:52 Bamboo pfs buff when it has killer wail isn't the greatest thing ever but the paint of this thing has been broken since release so it gets a pass. sploosh however is fucking dumb
As someone who plays A LOT of bamboo, 200p is actually pretty bad. Only time you have a decent amount of wails is when you have a cooler user on your team, and even then you're usually on the bottom half for amount of specials used on your team. I think 190 is the perfect number for bamboo since 180p with cooler would be too overkill. As for sploosh, I put it in a comment of my own, but I like the change. If you (for whatever reason) use sploosh in competitive you have a solid niche as the "wail retake guy" and once you have mid you can just spam beakons everywhere to locate and use. For casuals, any buff to sploosh is nice...
They literally refused to nerf Zap without also giving it a buff to make up for it lol I do not understand this dev team or why have such a hard on for some shooters.
People complained about Shooter Meta in Splatoon 2 yet scream at one of the most unique weapons added to 3 to the point where it gets consistently nerfed over and over again
Pencil isn’t getting nurfed, what are you talking about? Also it’s replacement would be ballpoint (or pencil would still be good enough after nurfs to continue to see play).
Splatoon 3 devs really be taking a step forwards then moonwalking 28 steps backwards finishing off with three consecutive cartwheels in random directions.
Nah it's the other way around. 28 steps forward, going backwards like 3 steps, and then catapulting themselves in random directions for 31 steps of distance
The squeezer thing was also a translation error, long range efficiency got nerfed by 9%. For wave breaker I'm assuming that visual ping it does that shows its range when you place it will be able to mark players
@@StoroCakes Side note, I always thought that the express kit was intended to be more of a slayer kit, with dart and storm allowing it to fight better. And that's how I try to play it, but the precision of hitting a vertical doesn't let me do that consistently. Did you know that hitting a swig vertical is actually more precise than hitting a dart? Test it out.
I really, REALLY want to know who looked at N-Zap and its current usage and said "man, this thing really needs to do more damage." Why give it greater effective combat range?? On the bright side, I'm really intrigued by both special buffs. The devs are finally finding ways to boost the utility of specials in ways that don't just boil down to "more explosion" and I'm all for that.
@@a-ramenartist9734 Nah I don't really think so. A big raincloud in the sky was always cool to me. The problem is it's always been weak, and is even weaker now that there's stuff like crab tank that is as powerful as it is. But I agree this buff is going to make it sooo much cooler.
Honestly, since I started playing I always thought that your team's ink storm should heal you. Funny that now it's in the game, we'll see how it plays out. Also Zap 30 damage and neo splash 170 is stupid.
So Big Swig Express, default Nautilus and Sniperwriter 5B have become actual anchor support weapons while Octobrush Noveau has embraced the aggro style with that self heal on allied Inkstorm huh?
I can’t believe the splatoon devs would do this! That undercover buff was TOO FAR! This is going to dominate the meta and put the game in an awful spot. It makes lower tier weapons like nzap and shot practically unplayable even with the nzap damage buff. Another undercover meta sigh😔😔😔
Agreed, completely unnecessary nerf. It’s a great designed weapon, just leave it the hell alone jeez. I love shooters but we don’t just need to keep buffing shooters and nerfing anything else that has a semblance of being good.
Rain improving heal speed sounds like it has potential to just be a nerf to specifically rapid blaster, S-blast '91, and maybe Stamper, things that have combos that barely get over 100 damage with sources that are 30+ frames apart, while having literally no effect against shooters, dualies, sloshers (might break bomb combo with vslosh but so does 1 sub res so whatever) and chargers. Sounds like it could easily just be terrible in execution.
As a Zap player, that damage buff is crazy to me. At least, the cooler kit FINALLY got bumped back to 200p. You know, AFTER it got dropped down to 190p, back when cooler was irrelevent.
I have no idea why nintendo is changing n zap so much. like bro it was already good and they just give it more damage. Then they just give undercover brella a nothing buff of jump height, which is the weapon that needs more damage.
