An all night relaxing sound of rain on a canvas tent. This new 8 hour all night long video is presented by www.virtualdreamer.com. Occasional distant thunder and wind background sounds.
I got sober in 2011 and started listening to this because I could not sleep... Well it's 2023 and I've played it just about every night since. Thanks Brad!
@@lucianlawrence722 i'm 18 now, and i STILL come back to this video. out of all the rain videos here on youtube, this one in particular is the only one I've been watching for years now.
When I listen to this, I remember just talking with my brothers and sister in the tent in the backyard while listening to the rain and nodding off to sleep. Lazy summer days of 30+ years ago.
I remember tossing and turning in my tent after a hot Texas day. Finally a light rainshower came to provide cool relief to the hot night, and it lulled me to sleep. Rain is such a relieving thing.
i remember this one time me and my brother sprinting back to our tent during a really windy thunder storm, the tent shook a little as we took off our wet jeans and got into our sleeping bags, this videos brings me back to that time thank you
Dear Brad, When they have a hall of fame for sounds to help you sleep, " rain on a canvas tent" will be rated #1 and the greatest sounds for sleep. Peace, Mark
I don’t have the words to tell you how grateful I am for this video. I’ve been playing it almost every night for years. My son is on the spectrum and it’s the only thing that’ll put him to sleep. Best sleep either of us has ever had!
I have listened to alot of "rain sounds" and this is the best one. It's not muffled or white noise sounding, but actually sounds like high quality "movie" rain. very good recording. Thanks! ( I live in drought stricken California so this sounds helps to keep my sanity)
+Nitro192 look at it this way, if you were a single female with 3 kids and the baby daddy left you, and you couldn't get a job cause your 3 kids are still I fants to toddlers, youd want as much help as you can, right?
Years ago I had a sleep study for apnea. In the first interview the doctor asked, "where do you sleep the best?". Without hesitation I answered, "in a tent." I'll never forget the look of surprise on his face. He must not get that one often. Thanks for this soundscape. I have been enjoying pleasant dreams.
Being a world class insomniac myself I discovered I fall asleep faster when there are sounds I can visualize, or that stimulate my imagination, playing in the background. My website and this channel are a result of my passionate belief that the process of imagining and the act of dreaming are close cousins.
I'm still stuck in quarantine so I thought I'd go back to this video that I've been watching for almost a decade. The quality of this video never gets old, and I hope this stays for as long as possible. I wanna watch this again when I'm 20 lol. That said, stay safe everyone!
I love these sound videos for sleeping. I need them to quiet my mind because all I do is think about everything when its time to sleep, especially since my dad passed away. Thank you for providing these videos and such a wonderful service free of ads that interrupt my sleeping pattern. :-)
Amber G sorry to hear about your dad. As a dad myself I’m sure he loved you very much and I’m sure you brought much love into his life. Just remember that he will always love you and wouldn’t want to see you sad.
This helps me get to sleep every night. I love tucking myself up with this on headphones, closing my eyes and imagining I'm in a dark forest, all safe in my tent! Thanks so much for this!
lol I'm just messing dude. I guess my sense of humour does not translate very well over text. Terribly sorry if I offended anybody there. Years of abuse left me a little... well, twisted in the humour department. So yes, despite the therapy I have been through, there IS something wrong with me. Thank you for noticing. Honestly, I do love the sound of rain and thunder from a tent.
I switched from a different rain/thunder sleep aide to this one because this one doesn't have a commercial that comes in out of nowhere at 4am. Love it! Thank you!
Once I was camping with friends in the Mark Twain National Forest in late October and it literally rained for 24 hours straight! We mostly hunkered down in our tents and slept or read or played cards. But that was some amazing sleep lol. Now I can reenact it! Thanks!
Thanks for this!!! It masks my tinnitus and helps me get a good night's sleep without pills. I even play it in the daytime to relax. I wish I had discovered this ages ago.
I honestly think that Brad isn't with us anymore, due to a few strong rumours online, however his legacy is one of immense integrity and love. He was a pioneer of this genre; many have followed, 98% get it wrong. This track, Smokey Mountain Rain and 9 hours of Gentle Rain helped me through one the most intensely difficult periods of insomnia I've ever experienced. Now, I read and relax to the sound of Brad's amazing captures of nature. Never to be forgotten. 🙏
Thank you Brad. You can believe the song "It never rains in Southern California". Well, almost never. I'm grew up in Carolina and really miss the frequent sounds of rain coming down. Now living in Southern California and when I do get to listen to and experience the rain, it's truly a gift as your recording is and I thank you for that! It's been amazingly tranquilizing and sleep is rarely as pleasant as with your sounds of Rain on a Canvas Tent. It takes be back to my Scouting days.
Charles Martin I'm from Carolina and got replanted in Southern California, too. Went back last summer and stood on the porch with my phone recording the rain and tree frogs. It never rains enough here for me. I find the incessant sunshine intolerable. These videos help me to relax. Thank you, Brad.
Glad to know there's at least one fellow Carolinian with similar sentiments. Thanks, Sister for validating my feelings and likewise enjoy the natural gifts that nature provides us.
Brad thanks for taking the time and effort to produce this video and for sharing it with the world. My wife and I use it to help us unwind and drift off to dreamland every night. Nothing better than doing a little tent camping and being lucky enough to experience a nice rainstorm in the evening when hitting the sack. This brings me back to some great memories. Thanks again!
This is one of the most realistic sound videos I sleep to. I have a very hard time falling asleep. I have misophonia so most water sounds bother me. I find this one really nice and the way it fades and then gets louder and then quieter again. Then the thunder. Reminds me of listening to the rain on the tin roof when I was a kid, except to blooping or dripping noises!
This is probably the best suited relaxation audio for me, after checking many. Much thanks. Now I don't have to listen to my dog constantly licking himself.
Cannot get to sleep without these this is the best one I am only 13 but struggle getting to sleep as I get distracted by the noises my boiler in my room makes thankyou so much I now have 8-10 hours of peaceful sleep xxxxxx
Well not always for a negative reason. Im not sure if it's my phone or what is the cause, but i often get a strange static sound this can be heard in the background of sleep sounds.I will hit the thumbs down just to let MYSELF know to skip over that video and it really has nothing to do with the creator or actual sound. with that said; Im not hearing the static in this one and rather like it, so i shall sleep to this and wish you all a pleasant night and wake to a beautiful day tomorrow !
To me it is so strange people that thumbs down this sound effect. Why in the world would you come to this page if you didn't think you would like it? Just to be sure? Or was it that you just chanced on it, or you wanted a better sound of rain falling on a tent? And 495 fools found it important enough to come here just to hit that icon? That is just amazing to me. Sublime.
I'm from the UK too. It doesn't seem to rain all them much here in the West Midlands. The weather is just cold. If we do get rain it lasts about 5-10 minutes which isn't long enough for me :D
Thanks so much for this very relaxing video. I love the "tent" sounds as it reminds me of when I was younger when we were camping and it starting raining during the night. Best sleep ever!!!!! :)
I've been using this to help sleep for over a year now and I still haven't showed my appreciation. Thank you so much. I play this almost every night when I try to sleep.
***** We get a lot of rain in England, but it's not daily like this person stated. It's winter now, but I'm nice & warm. It's mild for me but might be cold to others who prefer the heat. I LOOOOOOOVE Autumn
one of the more musical rain on tent compilations, on several occasions I listened to these nature sounds, rain on tents with a bit of thunder is my favourite, I find the natural white pink noise clears tired brainwaves, and is really useful if you have a broken heart and want to Zen out, it happens to be raining outside as listening so I am getting cool surround sound effects, probably the rain will stop before the video ends
I am a die heart music lover and often use music as a way of unwinding at night. But this rain on a tent, and at times on a tin roof. Then followed by thunder. Is the best therapy for my mind. It is 3:30 in the late afternoon, and I am listening right now. I feel so much calmer when I am listening to this. I turn on the music once I have calmed down and feel like my mind is clear. I am the backbone of my family, so my mind is often bombarded with a family crisis. This also helps my chronic pain and helps me to focus on the positive things.
One of the best night time sounds - rain on a tent. Camped in Mammoth Lakes, California, one summer and the rain completely came down - had the best sleep that night!
This is incredible! I suffer with insomnia due to anxiety and I have been listening to this for the past week and it completely works! Thanks so much!!
When beautiful water n bird sounds won't cut it cuz ya don't want the chirps to wake your sleeping buddy... ;) Thanx Mista McBride! This one's been a fave for awhile now.
There is nothing more satistfying than hearing this sound (for real, "out there"), and knowing that your pitch will hold all night. Makes for a beautiful sleep and a good morning. Nothing like it.
When I was a kid, about age 7 one of my school mates asked me: "why does it rain?" "I dunno" I replied, He said, "Cause God Missed the Toilet!" Iv'e always gotten a laugh out of that. But now I'm starting to believe it
I love listening to this while I read, I don't know why but it helps me get into the stories I read. It's been so long since I've been able to actually listen to rain because I'm always at work and all the sounds of people covers the sound of rain and when I'm at home the family. It's just so soothing and reminds me of my camping trips I used to take.
This was the first rain video I ever played to help me sleep, and although I've listened to many other makers, this is the absolute best one. No kidding. Thanks, Mr. McBride.
I live in England so it's not hot much here so I don't really like rain cuz it quite rare to have sun in summers but I do like the sound of it like in a tent
Omg! Thank you 4 this!!! This is the 1st one of these that's not a 15 second loop!! My brain has a hard time shutting off and when I try to fall asleep to other channels' sounds of rain it starts catching the subtle cues repeating every few seconds. I'm definitely subscribing to this channel
Ihave been listening to this for about a week straight now at work. There is nothing anyone could say here that would bother me. I am sooooo relaxed. Thank you Brad
Brad, this is absolutely the best!--for me anyway, I work 10 hr grave shifts which often turn into 12 &14's. Combine that with normal day noise of roofing, lawn mowing, dogs, etc.--I try to sleep...and can't. This works wonders, WONDERS! I have tried many. Thank you from the bottom of my heart (I'm insomniac-tic too!) you are my hero! retail??
This is really soothing and beautifully done. Great to mask the motor soup off of the I-59 that attacks my peace of mind, 24/7. In fact, it is the best natural sounds loop - without ads, miraculously - I've found on RU-vid. Thanks so much, Brad! :-)
Started listening to this because I like the sound of rain. I paused it six minutes in and realized it had started raining outside. O____O MAGIC. This is what I get when I wake up at five AM I guess lol.
Thanks and if you dig a little deeper into my site you will see I try to use the mechanics of hypnotism via audio to help people sleep. It's all about visualization.
My newborn baby is a very restless sleeper. he loves white noise we've found rain is his favorite to relax! this one is the best 2 months old and sleeping through the night! thank you!!
I am a crazy hard to relax 10 year old but I fell right asleep it is so nice I never am able to go to sleep this is so nice! After I say my prayers I have this bookmarked and I'm just like " zzzzzzzzz" WONDERFUL
I cant even explain how relaxing this is , ive never ever ever ever wanted to go to sleep just to listen to this. Ive always liked the sound of rain hitting things , now i can listen as many times as i want to and when i want to. Also helps me read thats a plus thanks dude
Brad McBride Yes I suppose so. But would like to think those people sat thru at least 7 hrs of waiting for something to happen before they realised there is no hilarious punchline, no cute animals farting, no killer bass drop etc! Love zzzz-ing to these vids, top work Mr Mcbride :)
Thanks... I think some of those people had trouble loading the vid ( sorry, not my problem) and some are people who do similar things but, unlike me, allow adverts on their vids.
Though it's clear so many have appreciated your effort here, let me add my appreciation. We're not yet into rainstorm season yet so it's just so lovely to fall asleep to this. I alternate between this one and one called "Howling Wind"
After recent bilateral knee replacement surgery I have found this to help me rest, relax and decrease the perception of pain. Thank you for helping me to heal healthier. May God bless you and your efforts.
It's been years and this is a second comment of gratitude. May the universe bring u many wonderful new year's! Again, Thank you. This is the BEST in my opinion. Personally spend 12+hours a day online, have tried literally 100's of these type videos [5 tonight]. I love new new experiences, but haven't found any comparable. It's perfect and this should be required bookmarked.
I'm glad it helps. I have found the key to falling asleep , for me at least, is being able to visualize. That is the idea behind my website and YT channel.
Honestly, it reminds me of two things. Going to sleep knowing that I'm going to wake up absolutely soaked, and waking up knowing that I am absolutely soaked. Haha.
take an extra tarp and string next time you go camping lol that way you make a secondary shelter over the tent to keep it dry .. must admit it isnt easy not touching the tent walls in your sleep lol
Battle on the rain tent videos! I've heard four and they are all different, but I am partial to this one. Good blend of actual rain falling and different sounds produced on the canvas, Some nice, mellow thunder in the back, Nice increase of amount of rain falling. This is the award winner!
Interesting. all the more would I wish for is active video of the rain coming down. This computer is in a miserable, windowless, no heart or a/c room in the hospital here. need distraction or soothingness! :)
I had to sleep like this in real life... not exactly as calming when you get reminded of the fact that every uneven drop made you scared of a bear touching the tarp
Well, I'm just saying it was scary. It could also have been a wolf, or coyote. Another time, they we're howling away, scared me to death. They even found tracks not too far away from the campsite.
I've listened to this almost every night for several months now on my surround sound in the bedroom to sleep. Very relaxing and it helped me do away with having to have a fan blowing. Thank you...
