Rain World - Droplets Upon Five Large Droplets Echo Ambience - 1 Hour 

There’s something very profound about this echo’s theme... that combined with the dialogue, especially the part where it talks about all of the voices, all the animals... it makes me feel like this one was one of the good ones. It cherished life, it loved nature. The music accentuates this fact, it makes it seem so sad that the echo had to stay. This echo was meant to leave, but perhaps it was their connection to nature, their connection to the life lived before, that made them stay.

The ancients framed attachment as a bad thing; a hindrance in the way of ascension. That's what makes an Echo: that unbreakable bond between itself and the material world. It's the very fact that it cherishes the memory of green meadows, of friends passed on, of moments spent in the splendor of life that it simply won't let go of, that stopped its ascent. Is ascension really all it's cracked up to be, when you have to let go of everything? Really, it seems like a senseless sacrifice, recklessly performed in pursuit of "progress" towards a void. Progress for the sake of progress, death for the sake of death. But what's so wrong with the cycle, when everything you could ever love is a part of it? Maybe Echos are the lucky ones, who realized their mistake before they made that final, senseless descent. They remembered in those final moments that there was something still worth staying for, faded and frail as those memories may be.

Rain World has recently consumed my life and it quickly became my favorite piece of media ever made. The combination of this echo... Its dialogue. Its name. Its location. Its theme. The golden scales falling like leaves. The distortion of reality. The sounds of rain. These things combined create a feeling I've never felt or probably will ever feel again in my life. Something I can't put into words. It's melancholic, it's sad, it's hopeful, it's beautiful, it feels as if every emotion came together to create something personal to me, indescribable to anyone else. It's like a sanctuary. It feels like an otherwordly cosmic horror of a sight yet it also feels like home. I feel insignificant yet I feel special. I so badly want to share this with others yet I know it's mine and mine alone. It saddens me that this game does not get as much recognition as it deserves but at the same time I feel like it's impossible to make so many people share the same personal experience that Rain World provides without filtering out many, to cater to the few people that will really, really connect with it. Just like if this game was more popular we might not have people like you documenting every single piece of it to share within our small community. It's a bittersweet feeling, much like the one this exact ambience gives me. I could ramble on about the thoughts this echo brings forward endlessly, but again, I feel like I still wouldn't be satisfied with my description of them. It really is something that is only true to myself. However I do hope some people still relate to this in their own way. I am forever grateful to you, to our community and to videocult. Thanks for everything.

I have not played Rain World. But this is what I feel when listening: Everything is as it should be. If there is no solution, then there is no problem either. All the pain and all the pleasures disappear while something else reveals itself to me. When I hear the bittersweet sound of the echo, I am reminded of the perfect balance and stillness behind all manifestations in our seemingly dualistic existence. I feel a deep sense of peace whenever I try to connect to that. I don't know if I'll ever play the game as time is becoming more and more scarce as I get older. But I love it nonetheless. Each serving as a wave propagating throughout the annals of history. Listened as I have for many eons, 'tis true, some of those swells cannot help but mirror back.

i love that my favorite game makes sleep music :D

Idk why but this echoe makes me sad/nostalgic and chill, but I also find it very disturbing. Idk why but there's something in the way the music play that amaze me and makes me uncomfortable at the same time.
