I love how they actually have a blizzard system in Rain World: Downpour

*spoiler warning of the video's lore* The symbol shown during the transmission at the end translates to "L F" (have not been seen in a previous video). The ancient speaking (Betwixt the Frozen Leaves) is the administrator/creator of Silent Light. And he turned himself into the tree; the mask remaining, the torn clothes fused with the wood. The echo was a companion of Betwixt before attempting ascension. ps. The Gas Worm is just Daszombes showing off his love of siphonophores.

Would be cool if we came across a iterator in this concept called "Pierces-the-Storm" where thanks to the cold temperature, like half of their water supply and the tower itself frozen and they're in a constant state of overheating and malfunctioning, making the tower you climb up to get to them extremely dangerous. Idk, just a thought and the concept of The Glacier is awesome Keep up the good work!

I like this! It’s like sub regions of the map that can be accessed, but once accessed must be completed to exit, they aren’t required, but can increase your max karma amount even higher for each one, for example, there is one echo here, so there would be one extra maximum karma amount that is optional!

Ancient became a tree pog

Ok ok so I had an idea for a slugcat before I saw this thinking that it would come from a polar region and so a challenge would be keeping cool as to not overheat. Wich making thus region the alternative start point could be interesting since the slugcat evolved to the cold (fur and hot pockets).

Alternative ending Idea: So the funglings are the obvious choice as caretakers of this greenhouse cuz duh they basically worship these plants, but then you gotta lead them somehow to the greenhouse, but they also would need something stopping them from either reaching the greenhouse in the first place or for some reason dont know what to do in order to maintain the greenhouse. My proposed solution is that the main issue is that while you can find them on the surface, they are terrified of the ice caverns as their natural predator is the gas worm (or some other things) and they are terrible swimmers like scavengers. For these reasons they have never really been to the main city under the ice, even though they reside on top of it. The funglings prefer to remain in the safety at the top of the city on the surface, especially where their largest main den resides, a wide mechanical room with tree branches sticking out of the floor and a few unique flora. Similar to the greenroom there are fruits that respawn every single cycle, but only about 3 as there are not enough to allow you to rest immediately. Turns out, this main base of the funglings is right on top of the greenhouse and a couple of the plants including the top branches of the big tree which absorbed the ancient. Instead of using the battery on the greenhouse immediately, you must use it somewhere else to open a door directly between the funglings and the greenhouse, ensuring the preservation of the long forgotten vegetation

I feel like the echo is too long and too straightforward, it would feel more natural if it stopped at “But what of me?” cause at the moment it just talks for too long. It feels… off… for it to just give you so much dialogue

I love the concept of a slugcat getting grabbed by an Elder Fungling and just yote, headfirst, straight into a wall.

Damn, the rain world setting and its expansion by fans is so deep. It'd be really cool no make and run a tabletop role playing system based on Rain World. If love to roleplay a small family of slugcats making their way through the frozen ruins.

Considering it just came out, I'm going to assume it will be great because of course it fucking will be. Do you seriously think it won't be? Extremely proud of everyone involved. Edit: I was right, its incredible.

2:35 (downpour spoilers under the read more - mostly for saint, minor spoilers - mechanics only) - daz accidentally predicting rainworld saint campain with "there is no rain, only tempurare drops," and the freezing cold and blizzard stuff. like??? litterally saints campain there is no rain, you just get colder, until eventually a blizzard hits.

It was fun to see and semi work on! (I slightly made some stuff) but I’m glad many people got featured! So many had amazing concepts Super duper excited to help work on the next projects, this was super fun to do

This looks like a very promising concept. I am amazed of what the rain world community is capable of. Never thought there would be that much coordinated effort.

Concepts Frost cactus This plant has evolved like a cactus to reserve water but due to the extreme temperature differences in the areas it lives in it can come in two variants. Cold. In expansive snow fields light is reflected so to absorb more light it grows in the formation of a pillar with a wide fin in the upper mid section these cacti can not be eaten while in their cold variation due to the flesh being completely iced over. Heat vent variant. This variant grows in the same pillar formation as its other variant but instead of a fan it grows a lot of spines that can be taken and used as worse spears at the top of this plant it forms an edible bulb that can heat you up and be a pretty good food source. Field variety. This kind acts like a teddy bear cactus in the real world it is covered in many spiky detachable clumps that will slow you and hurt but if you have a stick you can collect some to scare away enemies Spewer. This creature looks like a vulture but with. GIANT BUG LEGS. This creature hunts by spraying a bile that expands and freezes in snow, becomes large sharp spines in ice, in water it will spread out and than turn into a large stringy structure that can ensnare you, in steam vents it will cause an explosion of hot gas, on metal it will frost over and become slippery, on flora it will cause immediate corrosion, and on fauna it will cause it to be frozen in ice Last. Vent deer. This creature derives from the same species the rain deer came from but it is much hairier and it has thin tubes on its back that smoke comes out of this creature is a mystery but sure is helpful

"Disclaimer: This is not a real mod" I'm sure someone somewhere will go out of their way to prove this wrong, eventually.

It was so fun working on this project, the outcome of it was super great and I think the beauty and complexity of these mod concepts as a whole really shows how great the community is!

Some of the concept art, like that of the Grizzly Mantis and sentries, are fucking awesome. So interesting and creative.

I imagine with the sleeper lizards a room hat has a roof (rare in the wastes) the roof would have icicles and one would fall behind you and a sleeper lizard would come out (edit: oh wait that's basically the cave wigs)

My personal theory is that the caretaker of the greenhouse, via whatever totally not magic ancient technology contraption he put himself through, became the fungoids. What better way to see your plants slowly grow than having them literally grow on you? Them seeing the plants in a religious light lines up with the way the ancient sees the greenhouse too, and if the fungoids knew about it then it would probably become their holy land.

Some small gripes, but over all pretty good. The autist in me did get a bit annoyed at the Ancients automated response part, particularly at the name, as for some reason it annoys me when the names seem too relevant to the context of the situation they find themselves in based on these fanfiction-y(No offense) concepts, when there's no real precedent for name changes to take place base on circumstance, or for Ancients to take up a profession relevant to their name. Especially since "Betwixt Frozen Leaves" only half a name. For example; in the Dark Magenta Pearl, a plain text document listing the name and titles of an Ancient, and the items and memories they are donating, as they decided to Ascend. Whose name I believe is "Seventeen axes, Fifteen Spoked Wheels", but "Betwixt Frozen Leaves" is closer to an Iterators name, which, Iterators themselves, were seemingly only given half a name.(Likely not as an insult, but similar to how you only give your pet, or maybe a mechanism/robot you created, one name, instead of a full first and last name). "5 Pebbles" "Looks to the Moon" "No Significant Harassment", they sound similar the first part of an Ancient name. Like, the Echo's are Ancients who tried to forcefully Ascend, but because of some connection, they were unable to fully Ascend, and were stuck in the same realm. So, the achievements for finding these Echo's would be their names; "Nineteen Spades, Endless Reflections", "Six Grains of Gravel, Mountains Abound", and these names did not correspond with the content of their dialogue when you meet them, nor likely with their profession in their original lives, not that we'd know, but also because their names are kinda just nonsense. The canon Echo's don't ask anything of you, they are simply stuck in their own little limbo, and only vague recognize you, as they might be out of phase with time, or because time has little to no affect on them, they pay no attention to it's passing, and only interact with you because your Karma connects you with them. But they don't ask anything of you, they just speak a little about something, almost absentmindedly, like, just like their body, their mind isn't fully there, maybe split somewhat between the next realm and the current one. But I guess I kinda branched off and rambled on another subject. "Betwixt Frozen Leaves", sounds closer to an Iterator, and it might be more believable if the character was, though the dialogue would need to be rewritten to fit this. As an Iterator in charge of a giant city, much like the cities on top of Cans, as well as a giant greenhouse, is, again, more believable than an Ancient. But the name, again, seems a bit too relevant to the situation, being in a frozen wasteland and taking care of a tree. Looks to the Moon has a foreshadow-y/ironic/coincidental name. Maybe she was named as how the devs wanted the player to find her and they just left it that way, but LTTM was known as LTTM before she suffered her problem, and was left looking to the moon from her chamber. But 5 Pebbles doesn't have 5 Pebbles, and not that we know much about the other Iterators, but I doubt Seven Red Suns has seven red suns, nor did Sliver of Straw have a sliver of straw. I would recommend changing the Ancient character from the automated response to an Iterator, choose a bit of a random nonsensical name like the other Iterators, as you can give the idea that this Iterator found a new way to cross itself out buy letting itself be absorbed by the trees it was once charged to care for, as well as giving the Echo an Ancients name, and making it ramble about how it feels shame and guilt for abandoning it's best friend in order to ascend, or something like that. As there's no need to mention the greenhouse, or ask the player to do something, as the players will likely find it on their own during their exploring, and similar to how the game never asks the player to do anything, simply vaguely tells them what to do next. Moon never asks you to bring her a neuron, but thanks you for having the mind to bring her one on your own. That's one of the main... Concepts...? ...Something like that... For the game. The player is never given a Choice to do anything, just to do Something. Nothing in the vanilla game is like a multiple choice question, it's up to the player to decide their answer, like a fill in the blank. "You find a blue creature sitting on a small trash island, in a destroyed chamber, with 5 glowing bugs hovering over it. What do you do?" The devs don't ask "Do you eat the bugs? Do you throw something at her? Do you leave?" The player has to figure out what they want to do on their own. The player in greenhouse can find a high tech glowing box around, unlike anything you've seen around, and near some faintly glowing surface/screen, there is a high tech glowing receptacle the same shape as that glowing box. Any wrinkle brain would eventually deduce to put the glowing box in the glowing box hole. The Iterator last message would then speak up in the event of the player successfully placing the battery, stating how, after a while, it lost interest in solving the Great Problem, and was simply content with letting the days pass by as it cared for it's greenhouse and the great tree there in, and, after the Ancients had been gone for ages, he simply relinquished himself to the embrace of the tree, letting himself be taken, having inadvertently found a way to cross himself out(much to the chagrin of Pebbles), as he wasn't killing himself, but simply relinquishing himself to the Cycle, and allowing himself to be consumed. Almost like, instead of trying to escape reality like the Ancients, he completely accepted it. Like letting himself be taken by the tree isn't the end of his life, so he's not dying, simply the start of a new one, or something like that.

I love this and if no one else does, I want to turn this into an actual mod!

you could have an iterator who looked at all the cold animals and feeling bad for them, realizing that they basically turn into a giant hothouse when they limit their water intake and start over heating so they turn parts of their insides into little habitat vivariums for wildlife to take refuge in while they basically are sort of half insane, a kind of crazy cat lady type character who is thrilled to bits at the sight of the slugcat finding its way inside, another friend safe and warm for them to take care of. any lizards inside of them could be weirdly docile and are more a hazard of stealing and eating any food the slugcat holds, but thats more of an annoyance rather than a hazard since theres food everywhere, since the iterator makes sure the animals are well fed so it can focus on keeping itself hot enough to keep its Vivariums warm but not so hot it overheats and malfunctions. maybe they could be called something Like, light in the dark. the hazard of Light in the dark being when slugcat tries to leave, its not safe out there little friend, you have to stay here, where its safe and warm... which gives double meaning to the Light in the dark name, not only is it a guiding light to help guide the way to safety, it can also be a trap, like an Angler fish, its light is enticing but get too drawn in and its jaws snap shut. and as an added bonus, depending on how high/low slugcats food is when they get to Light's Puppet Chamber, they will comment on how fed you are and either remark that you're so good at finding food cus look at how well fed you are! or are a bit concerned you dont have a full belly cus those silly lizards must have yoinked all the food they're so greedy sometimes, and will drop enough food down for you to fill your hunger pips. you can also slightly troll Light by not eating the food right away and after a few seconds they'll tuck themselves in a corner of their chamber to give you space or spawn in some different foods. if you continue not to eat the offerings, Light will assume the slugcat prefers to hunt live prey and drop in a fat glow mouse for you. if you kill the glow mouse Light will praise the slugcat for being such a good hunter.

Predicted Saints campaign wooooooooooooooooo

The glazed glizzy biome should have some sort of an icy river going through, as you know, water destroys basically everything to get to where it needs to be and the cave city makes a ton of water. And then also probably some loops to where ever green house is and other biomes so you don't need to go back the same route you came in from.

my problem with the tower was that it was mostly just a lot of very samey lizard variants or extensions of concepts in the base game already, I'm glad that these are starting to incorporate more creativity in them.

I have an iterator concept. Rocky Clouds In The Nights, or RCITN, you can find this iterators puppet in it's old frozen compound. It's clothing is an icy blue, frozen most likely, and it's own body colour is a minty cyan with hints of icicles all over the poor thing. When you enter it's chamber you can find it sat hopelessly on the floor, pearls in frozen piles in the corners or sides of the chamber. When it sees you, you catch it off guard. But it does eventually speak to you, albeit obviously damaged by the ice. "O-Oh! I-I wasn't expecting a, uhm creature down here, especially with it being oh s-so cold. Heheh..." "Uhm, m-my name i-is Rocky Clouds In The Nights, b-but pleas-se call me RCITN or Nights." "A-Actually... n-now that my eyes ha-have focused bett-er... you don't look adapted to here at all! And, you h-have a mark..." "I-is pebbles a-active? Maybe e-even moon! O-or Sliver of Straws! I haven't heard from the three of th-em s-since my com towers fell!" "I hope their doing better then me atleast... wait... if you aren't adapted to here. You aren't from here, are you?" "Which means, you found a way over here... s-somehow. If you plan on going back, please... take my puppet with you... I want to talk to moon, pebbles or sliver of straws again." (First encounter dialouge) (Second encounter dialogue) "O-oh! Your back!" "Hello again! Did you come ba-ck to t-take me to one of the other three?" (Leaving after second encounter without puppet) "N-no? It's okay, I can wait!" (Leaving after second encounter with puppet, after finding a way to disconnect it of course) "Thank you, I'm uhm... sorry you're having to use both hands to drag me..." (Extra dialouge, because y e s) If you somehow managed to get RCITN to LTTM: "m-moon, is that you?" (Response) "It's me, RCITN!" If you somehow get them to pebbles (not chamber): "Yeesh, w-what happened h-here?" Pebbles chamber: "P-Pebbles, what h-happened to your compound..."

I helped with this! Sort of. I helped with some ideas, though none of the art-the artists are truly talented, and I could not manage to make it at my current skill. However, I always give morale support to them!
