Thanks MGA, I hate it. The reboot makes no sense, removing Poppy makes no sense, destroying this brand's original integrity makes no sense. You had a good thing going with high fashion, two sets of clothes, and original characters. Then you took away the 2nd outfit in lieu of accessories, and now you're taking away a core character. On a budget, I can only afford a doll on occasion or on sale. I literally only have 17 total and there's at least 5 more that I want that I already struggle to find... Now it's going to become even more difficult because the scalpers will definitely raise prices. Thanks a lot. 😢

That would be a lovely possibility but unfortunately I think the opposite is likelier - Storywood might be very young kid-oriented in more of an effort to compete with affordable Disney dolls. But I guess we’ll have to see. 🥲 Hoping to learn more about that brand soon. Thanks for watching! -Max

Well, at least my wallet would be fuller. Just bought the Madison Twins set for cheap. Sunny is cute and detailed, while Luna is a nice doll. I just changed her tops. I don't like them. Good dolls to go out on.

If they decide the reboot isn't working, all the adult collectors will come flocking back. All they have to do is release series 6 or whatever. I don't think rainbow high should die, because of that. Even if they make rarer, dearer speciality dolls. The fandom is here for it. MGA just want to look elsewhere, but if it dies with so many people still waiting open arms ready to consume... Then there's something wrong, to me. Like, give a doll collector a good design for RH and they'll give you there money. I can't get why they aren't interested in that/us 😢

Believe that they will! With all this ending era and Fantastic Fashion Poppy not being found in stores in US… in Mexico has become a battle to get that Poppy. Cause it’s the only doll that it’s not found in Store Shelves.

Fantastic Fashion Poppy est la première que j’ai achetée dans cette série. Elle est extraordinaire ! Je suis française. Je pensais que les poupées étaient plus disponibles aux USA et Canada ! Par contre, nous n’avons pas eu les poupées d’Halloween, sauf Vision Bella Parker et Robin Sterling, dommage ! Je pense que je vais arrêter ma collection RH et SH, car les nouvelles RW ne me conviennent pas du tout. J’ai aussi arrêté ma collection Barbie, Walt Disney, Lol. J’attends les Lol Tween. Je vais me recentrer vers les poupées vintages ou de créateurs, ma première collection.

Yes it’s disappointing to see what’s happening with the line , but us adults we had a fabulous ride, and it’s coming to an end . I’m hoping MGA has something new we can sink our teeth in… I truly enjoy the video though, you guys make me laugh, and it’s good-times watching your videos. 💜💜💜

It's fascinating because Rainbow High, the quality and this soft-reboot has made me more inclined to become a W member and to buy more Integrity dolls. I want to collect dolls and have the same quality throughout!

I was thinking the same thing about the short! Sunny said "And tell Poppy ..." And then she was cut off! 🤷 Looks like they are making us wait til season 5 to find out what she meant. .... I hate this rebrand. They were creating beautiful works of art, and now they are making slime 😔💔💔💔

Personally, I’m ok with RH ending. I have learned one thing thigh. No getting addicted to any toys from MGA. They will suck you dry with no mercy. All the money I done shoved at MGA for those dolls. Never again. I like to collect, but I don’t want to be exploited. I now know I want a line that produces great quality toys, but not over saturate the market 😡. RH got too wild. SH wave 1 was boss, but all the sublines and constant releases, and don’t get me started on those “special” doll releases 😒, never again for me. If that means no more doll collecting for moi, I’m ok with that. Legos have my attention now anyways 🤩. But that’s just my honest opinion. I don’t think any toy company will learn from RH, if anything they’ll do the same thing.

Makeup: Yes, more natural makeup is more child-friendly BUT Real World Makeup trends have DEFINITELY been more natural for the past years. Dewy skin and lips, soft eyeshadows etc.

Same. I just started collecting in mid December. I don't have a lot (13) and there are a few more I want from the RH/SH lines, but I don't see myself getting the glitter/slime line. I'm all about my edgy, goth, high fashion, diverse dolls.

Personally I don't think RH was ever really made for young kids. As you mentioned, there are a ton of high fashion references that young kids would probably not be aware of, not to mention the amount of small parts and the more mature outfits. I can see maybe 13 and up wanting these dolls. Anything below that, I'm not so sure. Granted, I was a 90s kid and didn't grow up with social media (but I also know my mom wouldn't have let me have such "suggestive" looking dolls until maybe 15.) So perhaps today's kids are more keyed into these things? Even so, I'm not always a fan of the excuse that "it's targeted to kids" but especially in the case of RH. Besides what sense does it make? These brands come out with dolls that clearly are marketed as they are intended (ex. G1 vs G3 MH.) These brands were already marketed towards kids regardless of the rebranding so I don't see the point. My only guess is that they're really running out of ideas (or can't just flat out copy from designers anymore.)

I think Poppy was saved from the rebranding of Rainbow High, when I saw the other dolls. I’m still mad at MGA but not as much. May Poppy live in our memories. I

ive been a long time collector of these dolls, was literally there buying ruby violet and sunny off amazon when they dropped at 3am in july 2020, so I really see no point of collecting the signature series as well. besides the loss of wrist articulation and hip pivot, the GLITTER, and the slime aspect of it, theres really no point for me to get these.

I wonder why they’re pivoting to cater to a younger demographic since I was under the assumption that Rainbow High was doing well as a brand. In terms of the animated series, if they really do make the characters go to a fantasy world, it will be a huge jump the shark moment.

Where is Bella? I am very disappointed with these changes; the lack or beautiful clothes/articulation, and the apparent end of SH :( Even if I was a child, I wouldn't want the slime, and I would miss the beautiful clothes. Maybe very small children wouldn't notice, but other kids will see that the clothes are not as good, and they can't do as much with the dolls. Also, when I was a parent of a small child, i would not have let him play with slime. I still don't like messy stuff, and I can't imagine a parent wanting their kids putting slime/glitter everywhere and making messes for the parent to clean up. I miss the darker look of the original Sh, and the beautiful clothes of Rh/Sh. If they bring back more collector high end dolls, I will get them, but not any of these new dolls. I'm so sad that they have made these choices ;(

I also wouldn't have liked the slime as a child. I was girly, I liked my dolls pretty, not slime in their shoes & bag. The pets aren't even very cute. The old ones were better.

I understand that dolls are for kids. BUT to exclude a core consumer of the product is insane to me. Did you see there instagram post after all the backlash stating these dolls are for little girls?? Like what about boys! I could take an outfit cut and accessory cut. Fine. Just have a nice high quality doll and one nice outfit and a stand! When u add cheap throw away gimmicks too, slime completely turns of parents. My mom bought slime for me once, I threw it at the ceiling and it got stuck and stained and I NEVER was allowed to have any products with slime even as a pre teen. My mom would have told me NO not buying that. The making it part too is even more MESSY. I just LOVE rainbow high, I will continue to buy cause it’s my life, I have a rainbow high room! Idk what I’m gonna do if it goes away. 😭

Je pense que les poupées mannequins sont collectionnées aussi bien par des hommes que par des femmes. (Ex. Barbie) Et c’est valable même pour les poupées vintages aussi surtout en porcelaine. Par contre, les nouvelles Rainbow sont plus ciblées pour des filles que des garçons car ce sont des jouets, c’est tout, sauf si un garçon aime jouer à la poupée.

I don’t know it’s been a lot of miss communication. MGA keeps posting on LinkedIn that their the number one fashion doll best selling. If they truly are cutting the budget to go to Bratz , I’m not to particularly impressed with what they’re getting ready to release with them either. One of these lines to have two extra outfits and articulation.

I think MGA is doing Amaya dirty and not doing her justice, Amaya in the show never wants to replace anyone, like how she said "she wants to be part of the team not replacing" if that's canon in Amaya's character, why is MGA forcing her to replace Poppy for zero reason, she's one of my favorite Rainbow High characters, but whoever is working on the reboot doll is doing her dirty, this reboot line should've still be "The Mane 7" with Poppy included, not "The Mane 6" with no Poppy included. 😢

Of course, the removable hands MUST go if a toy will be played with by very young kids. On the other hand, I’m pretty sure the shoes are a choking danger. Now that slime, I’d never give that to my kid for indoor play.

MGA HAVE YOU LEARNED NOTHING FROM 2015 BRATZ / G2 MONSTER HIGH / EVER AFTER HIGH ?!??? Whenever a doll brand gets a focus for younger audiences it always ends up being so bad for the brand unless it creates a secondary line specifically dedicated for children like Bratz babiez , that’s still my hopeful view that this rainbow world characters are for children while the more mature line of shadow high or the rainbow vision dolls would continue since I doubt MGA doesn’t know rainbow high was huge for collectors and kids . This new dolls I doubt adults or kids would like less quality dolls for the same price

41:10 I don't think you can say this line wasn't aimed at adults when they were selling online only collector edition dolls for hundreds of dollars at retail. Kids ages 4+ don't have credit cards or internet access. You don't buy 4-year-olds $125 Día de los Muertos themed dolls or $100 Paris Hilton themed dolls. WHERE is the story as to why Rainbow High kids look like Rainbow High kids, and Shadow High kids look like Shadow High kids, and there is a set of twins that have BOTH of those traits in this storyline?! How?! Why?! We're just supposed to forget about that because of slime creatures?! My guess is that MGA is PETRIFIED about the Rainbow Brite dolls that will launch this year.

I need more series leaks before I can say the line is truly dying. It's sad to see the articulation go, that's never a good sign. I'm also sad to see OMG looking a bit less detailed. Then we got NaNaNa Surprise changing from fabric to plastic. Mermaze is gone after only 2 series. Maybe MGA's just struggling all around in the doll area and they need to cut costs which means less fabric and more simplicity. Miniverse might be the best thing going for them right now.

It is the best video I have seen on the RH soft reboot. I like the dolls' faces. I am curious to see the face glitter in real life. These dolls are obviously designed for a younger audience but they could have potential for older collectors. They can wear original RH shoes and some clothes too. About the budget dolls, they are called budget for a reason. I have the budget Daphne. It is a great doll. I paid a little bit more than a Barbie Fashionista for a solid good quality budget doll. I will not buy more but I am pleased to have one like this. It is interesting to see how they are. I did not expect the doll to be so good quality for a budget doll. It is sad for RH but let's wait and see.

It’s very interesting to hear many collectors voices concerning about on these RH dolls. I am confused and bewildered on how or where they were heading toward this direction aiming toward young audiences. This soft reboot on these dolls after 3rd year run reminds me of Barbie’s first three year run on how they changed from being solid/ heavy feel on them into more “hollow” lighter feel on its fourth year, correct me if I am wrong. It was awesome that I managed to collected on every doll with first and second outfits in my collection that I will treasure them forever. I have 4 original Poopsie dolls as introduction to as my beginning of collection of these RH/SH and I am considering to get this Rainbow World doll as my fanfare to end my collection…not too sure about my decision though unless I see series 2 of Rainbow World first later down the road. It has been wild ride.

I don’t understand this soft reboot. The slime craze is over. Older kids won’t be interested in this and younger kids, like at four can’t do this slime alone anyways. Most parents don’t buy 25$ dolls for small kids. To them it makes no sense to buy them when the fashionista is much cheaper. Six and up was perfect for RH imo. Even my toddler has already played with them. She loves my doll room and hugs and kisses the dolls she’s allowed to touch. A parent can always remove small accessories if that’s a concern. But if earrings are a concern, than slime ain’t safe either for unsupervised play for a small child. The slime gets hard and dry in air and it’ll ruin the dolls things probably. I can understand that they had issues with the hands, so they’re not removable anymore. I wish they’d have done it differently though. The feedback I got from plenty 6-10 year olds was not good. They liked the faces mostly but asked about other face sculpts. Some said they look baby toy like now. Many said the slime is for babies. Others said the fashion is not cool enough. The ones that liked the slime said they don’t like it with the dolls and it’s not enough slime to really play with it. The older kids said if they want slime, they want special slime with lots of stuff in it they can mix themselves.

Interest in RH has been waning for quite some time now… unfortunately, I think this is the beginning of the end of the brand. It’s always seemed to be a brand that appealed more to adult collectors than kids and it feels like many of us have lost interest and moved on.

I'm hoping that this "soft reboot" will wake doll collectors up now and they'll finally start to realise that these are kids toys and that doll collectors are not these brands target demographic. We've already seen what damage doll collectors can do to doll lines. Look at omg for example, doll collectors moaned about not being able to see the facial screenings so they took all the surprise elements away, the one thing that kids enjoyed about the omg line, and it has essentially killed the brand. Omg are for sure on their way out now. It's a shame.

Poppy! 😢 there should be a petition to being poppy and Bella back. Also I heard poppy runway doll is unavailable because she was sold as a separate shipment from the others. So not all stores got her in separately, hence her sudden disappearance.

Sure toys are for kids first of all. BUT as an adult i buy toys for my kids and if i dont think its worth the money i dont buy it. I think 50% of all people in this world.. buy toys for kids or for themself.. So to do this its not a good thing at all. I will be saving money. I do love the new faces a lot because the old ones look like they have lazy eyes lol I think the old dolls was for kids over 7 years old now its more 4-5 and thats good. I would not give a G1 doll for a 5 year old.

Id like to note-mattel tried to pull the “but the survey says-“ excuse with frankie in monster high g1, saying she cant be green cause surveys say “girls dont like green” yet when they tested the dolls girls were complaining about frankie not being green even tho shes supposed to be a frankenstein monster Im 100% sure the same thing will happen with rainbow high, it was only out for three years-the kids who played with rainbow high are still kids, their gonna be upset when their favorite character is removed and the adults will be even more pissed off when they find out the only reason poppy is removed is cause some survey said “orange is not very popular”

Well at least my husband will be happy that we're going to end up saving money...Maybe it's a sensory issue but I HATE slime, and the details and articulation is what drew me to Rainbow High in the first place.

They had way too many dolls and having them coming out so fast . It was hard to keep track .

That part!!! I feel like they should have spaced them out, it seems like every 5 months a new wave would pop up.... I think if they waited a bit after the first shadow high release, I feel we wouldn't have the problem we're in now!

Not liking the hands with out ability to remove. Yet I understand that kids loose the hands. On eBay dolls are sold without hands bc they have been lost. So I get it.

A lot of things adult collectors struggle to understand is that most reboots (rh, monster high, MLP) aren’t for them. It’s for children. They want to appeal to a new generation and audience . Though it’s upsetting for longtime fans when your favorite franchise rebooted, but we have to understand that this was so a new generation could enjoy it just as much as we did :)

Well think about it. In three years there are tons of children born and introduced to this franchise. And with a new generation, they’ll be able to appeal to the “younger” kid fans who are just getting into the dolls. I’m not saying the new gen of rh is an upgrade. I’m saying that with the past three years, kids, fans or not have grown and developed interests involving the series. Of course, that’s my personal take that you don’t have to agree with. See ya!

As an adult doll collector I thought the Shadow High dolls were kinda cool kinda trippy but my mom thought they were scary & looked like monsters she was not a fan so I could see how parents weren’t buying them for their kids. I don’t like this soft reboot. I liked the designer inspired clothes. I’m 24 I don’t want slime with my dolls! Barbie is also putting slime in there Pop Reveal dolls & I don’t like it!!! I wonder y Rainbow High doesn’t put Violet in more t-shirts? She just in dresses. I only have 1 purple t-shirt & I’d like more purple & blue shirts

...very sad 😥...was hoping for more beautiful dolls...like fairytales...there are so nice designs...but this is downsizing...the glitter is terrible...in Germany we got a no go for glitter..cause of environmental reasons...this slime is out of fashion...even I wouldn't buy it f a kid...hope they wake up.

Why did MGA downgrade RH so much. Slime dolls, really? I could be wrong, but I feel like most of the people who bought RH were adult collectors, or maybe parent’s buying hopefully for responsible children.
