"There is a rainbow in the clouds" My son is disable and graduated from high school, during the ceremony it became cloudy and started raining. About 20 minutes into the ceremony, while the clouds were still in the sky pouring rain, two rainbows appeared, one above another. I'm sharing this because I raised my son never expecting him to do more than just exist. He has helped me understand true love and joy in its simplest form. ❤❤❤❤❤

Above all our dear Maya has taught me, being a rainbow in someone’s cloud hits me in my gut. This - wow - resonates with me repeatedly. This means that there are clear signs about a person which show up in different ways eg: A person may himself/ herself say something not nice about him or herself, maybe as a joke ( believe them for they know themselves) or they REPEATEDLY do bad, strange awful things, know that seldom do ppl change for the better and chances are this behaviour will get worse with time and one day in the future cause harm and may even be disastrous. So believe them in the beginning🤔

There are degrees of self-love, and if you're too busy loving yourself too much it could morph into self-absorption, self-centeredness, selfishness and a tendency to not consider how your words and actions affect others. A healthy degree of self-love is very important, as is empathy for others, compassion, altruism, compassion and kindness.
I really loved it when she said "Courage is the most important virtue of all because without courage you can't practice any other virtue consistently". This really resonated with me because we often hold back ourselves from the life we are meant to have because we are just too scared or not courageous enough to take step we need now. People only have to take time to see the beauty in the blue sky and at times other colours the trees in spring the trees in autumn even the rain everything is God sent the moon at night etc etc x
This year has been a beautiful year for clear skies . Four in the morning I would sit with a Cup of coffee looking at the magnificence of the stars, moon, and the sun rising. The world is a beautiful place if let be.

I, evidently, carry a lot of people with me that have loved me, because three times this year I've been told 'You're overqualified.' But all is well with me.
There's invincible beauty in Maya's words. My teacher in school introduced me to her spoke of her work with such passion. Inspiring. Inspiring my work and poetry. There's a lesson for us all in Maya's words.

I loved how she said that she "brings everyone who has ever been kind to me" with her to do all the things in her life. That really made me look at all the times I was nervous thinking I was alone, but I didn't have to be.... Even if you can't change your circumstances you can always change how you look at things. really great.

Wow tears in my eyes I never heard her story of not talking for 5 years. I loved the whole production but also when she said to bring all the people who love you along with you when you have a challenging situation.

Truely the most inspiring woman ever! not just because her work as a writer/poet/civil right activist but what she went through as a child must have been really traumatic where one would have struggled to recover let alone to turn the evil act commited against her into a good deed.
