Ahhhh,....now you're talking!! One of the greatest metal tunes from the 80s. Dio was THE voice for metal. His work with Sabbath was epic, but his Dio stuff is right up there. Sounding great, as always, and JC is really killing it, too. Awesome job by everyone. Hope you're having a great weekend, Dave! Rock on, bro!!
Hey thanks Steve, I appreciate the kind words. This is such a fun song to play, and yeah I agree the Sabbath stuff is amazing, and his first solo album is also just too good not to be in any metal/rock guitar player's collection. Hope you had a great 4th! :)
Still one of my favorite covers of this song, I keep coming back and listening ... Shame sharing it gainers no attention to this magical work of art. Always love the vocals that stay true to the sound I love and enjoy.!
And another glorious cover by you guys. Awesome screaming by JC. And of course the guitar work was brilliant, too. Enjoyed it a lot. One of my faves of Dio definitely.
Another Awesome cover! Thanks for the back to back new one's! Appreciate you guys taking the time to put these things together! As usual, spot on! Enjoy your Holiday!!
Guys this is completely unreal! Top notch all the way around from musicianship to video editing to the audio production. Fantastic job on the guitar Dave. Crazy pinch harmonics, and I'm sure that solo wasn't an easy one to work out. Gotta give it to JC on the vocals on this one, though. When he came in with that first line "you know it always brings me down", I think I just about fell out of my chair! Rock!
Another awesome collab Dave!!! You're on a roll this week ;) I watched it on Steve's channel a couple times already when I woke up. Great way to start the 4th of July weekend!!! I hope you have a good one \m/ \m/
Hey Dave! Rockin' collab !!! Gets my 4th off to a great start ! You're getting fancy with the solo tricks....and the spike ristband rocks!!!!! :) Have a great 4th, Bob
I gotta say.... That is like the REBIRTH of RONNIE!! I never heard anyone that can even come close to his vocals... .AMAZING!! will def be following you guys---
Oh man that brings back some great memories....job well done all the way around. Love Dio and this is a great tribute to his music. I love it. Now maybe you can post that ass kicking solo lesson on your channel. :)
your band did real true justice to timeless cult rock song by DIO band this sweet you did your version didn't try to top the oringal version your team hit this out park I dig this modern version of rainbow in dark nice work and im going put this on FB wall It meets my standers great job
wosupbro Yes I am still alive and well. I have not posted a video in some time... a few years... and I did not announce anything but am currently on hiatus. I stopped making videos as a result of a lot going on in my life. I do not know if or when I will be back but I do hope to someday at least finish my part 2 of Welcome Home (Sanitarium). Thank you for being a fan and noticing as it really means a lot to me!!
Absolutely Brilliant! All parts nailed really well! - I met Ronny James Dio in Hollywood a few years back. It was just a chance meeting, but he was really cool and it's a memory I'll always cherish. - I believe he's right at the top of the best _metal_ singers ever. Equalled by only a rare few like Rob Halford for example. RJD was probably my favorite of all though. His voice was just timeless. - If I were to say one thing to the singer here other than congrats on being great, I would say try holding the end notes of passages a little longer. It seems like Dio did that. But excellent all around to everyone in the video!
Fantastic cover. Awesome to see a Steinberger, they're interesting and not many people seem to use them. This is the first thing I heard on my new headphones (last ones sucked so bad I got a new pair). Good test. And they pass Iron Maiden's test, too.
Believe it or not, I have actually had people come up and ask me "what is that thing?" Nice to finally see someone else that recognizes and appreciates the Steinberger!
It's an unusual piece. When I was learning bass, I saw a clip (Devo, I believe) with someone using one. I had a similar reaction, "WTF is that?!." I haven't forgotten it since, it's a rather unforgettable instrument. When I have a career and some money, a Fireglo Rickenbacker and a black Steinberger L style are on the wishlist. Silly post-college pre-career years aren't kind to making that a reality.
very good job! usually do this alone or do you too act along with other performers? by the way, I for the most part can do electric guitar and do multitrack collabs utilizing bandhub, may we perform together at that website x)
Look,we love to rage on an over the years we put a lot of hard yacker with our no worries mate and no fft all out attitude with hair like a bush pigs ass. Its no wonder we had to give a godfold to a few bloody winjas.
Sorry you didn't like him. Personally, I think he's a great singer, with great range. Keep in mind, English is not his first language (he is from Belgium) so I think the presence of an accent sometimes can confuse people if they don't know it is there. Plus, Dio was one of those singers that is so hard to imitate... it is best to simply be yourself, which is what the singer did :)
@@PDXguitarfreak yes i see your point. but i'm referring to his voice in general. he does not stay in key. many foreigners who sing in english sound very good. klause from the scorpions and singer from loudness (japanese rock band). they had great and powerful voices. this guy just doesn't sound good in my opinion. have a great day.
