As someone who’s played siege for over 1k hours the frustration gets better over time. This game heavily tests you on your map knowledge, aim, understanding of sound cues, etc. when I first started in burnt horizon I was in the exact same spot as you but what made me a better player and just enjoy the game more is playing and learning the game with friends, even if those friends are better than you it’s great to have people who can help teach you and mentor you on how to actually improve. That’s what’s made me a better player and hopefully these tips can help you improve as well. And I can say to this day I still get frustrated but remember that each game you play is more knowledge and more learning that your doing that will help you improve bit by bit!

I assume with this pt you joined around burnt horizon roughly, back then it was so much Easier to become good I joined grim sky, I was a very good COD player so my aim was a “high level” got to diamond first season in a duo stack with mates. To do that in todays day and age is so much harder, so many different angles play styles operators that counter each other unless you have all operators you are at disadvantage stuff pike that is a lot harder. First month I had all ops back in the day.

I get frustrated when I have super off days, if my shots just aren't landing but for the most part the frustration fades. It helps to have people that are willing to lose with you (those are the ones you'll end up seeing the most improvement and enjoyment with)

As a fairly new player that’s still learning the game; I can share tips that have helped me improve as well. First of all; ALWAYS remain calm, don’t let the frustration of dying make you feel bad because all it does is make your critical thinking skills worse. Stay in control of your feelings like a Jedi. Secondly; communicate. If you have a Mic then use it. Any Intel you can provide to your team helps. Third; this ties in with 2; Intel is absolutely vital. If you find yourself dying constantly then use Operators with Intel based skills like Lion or Iana on Attack or Valkyrie, Echo or someone with an ability that constantly persists after your death like Mute’s Jammers or something like that. There’s a ton of Operators but not all of them are equal and most of them are built around a specific role. Fourth; which is somewhat similar to the last one; find an Operator with a gun you’re comfortable with and your Shooting will improve. Spend a little bit in the Shooting Range testing the weapon to see if you like or can handle it. This is the only way your shooting can actually get better is by practice. Fifth; as part of the first and second tips; just have fun and find ways to keep laughing and lighthearted. The happier you are, the better you are since you’re calmer and stress leads to bad judgement and anxiety. Even if you’re the last person standing in a 1v5 situation where dying is a loss for the match; don’t get in your head. Stay relaxed and (hopefully) your teammates are using Cameras/Drones to give you Intel to make the kills needed. Sixth; which is part of the Intel tip; don’t leave your Drone outside on Attack. Get it inside and hide it as close to your Objective as possible. Even if it gets destroyed, you have a second Drone for back up and when someone does die they can search through Drones to help give surviving teammates Intel; which means more likelihood that they can make the plays needed to recover the round. Seventh; learning the maps is crucial and doing Map Run helps but like the Poster said is boring. You can easily learn them by playing them but if running a Trapper style Operator then it takes Attacker knowledge to know how to place your Traps. There’s no point to a Trap placed in an area no one is going to enter from unless your team has cut off so many entrances that they’re forced into that position. I don’t run Trappers for this reason because I’m too inexperienced and don’t know what the best places are. Eighth; don’t block Rotate Holes like you saw the one character do earlier in the video. Reinforcement of Walls on Defense is important but don’t block the Rotate Holes because it allows the Attackers to set up their Defuse easier and gives Defenders more work to actually get into Site to try and take back control and stop the Defuser. Ninth; (if you made it this far congrats on being a real player dedicated to learning the game) don’t try to be an All Star all the time. Attackers HAVE to Plant Defuser or Kill All Defenders for the win. Sometimes it’s better to just sit it out when the clock gets low enough and they don’t have the time to Plant Defuser. This is why you should always remain calm and patient. Tenth; and this is part of the last point; GO SLOW; time isn’t high in a round but you don’t have to run in with so much energy that you’re like a Methhead speedballing Coke, Meth and Adderall. Take your time and try to find angles you can get the jump on others from. As the expression goes; “Speed Kills” and it’s absolutely true in Siege. I’m still learning but remembering these tips have really improved my gameplay. Just remember that everyone was new at some point and we all learn at different rates; some faster and some slower than others. Encouragement and help goes a long way to improving the community. The more you act out on teammates, the less likely you’ll be able to do better. Just breathe deep and remember that it’s just a game and stats are just numbers that don’t actually indicate your ability.

R6 is definitely a frustrating game but when you're winning and making good plays it just feels sooo good. I've been on and off for years and it hasn't been till recently that I've started getting better at gunfights, being a mainly supportive player, but now that I have a chance at winning a gunfight I don't feel hopeless when it comes up on me to clutch up the match

Your first 300 hours in the game will usually just consist of you dying to different shit that you didn't know existed. Once you get over that the frustration changes to dying to people playing in an unconventional way you're not expecting and that just kind of carries over for the rest of your experience! The game is a blast but if you want to truly get into it you probably need to have some friends to do it with you!
@Instantur
@Instantur 3 месяца назад
Those first 300 hours are the worst because you don’t know what you could have done to prevent dying. Once you have an understanding of the game you are still frustrated because you know you could have won the round if you played differently.

I’ve been playing for a couple months and I’m probably at 400 hours now. One time I was attacking top floor consulate and I stopped outside by the wooden door that leads to the basement, but I wasn’t in view of it. I hopped on a pre placed drone to check a spawn peak, and an oryx walked right out of this door and killed me. Turns out he broke the door down and waited there at the start of the round, and I just don’t know how I was supposed to expect this absurd play. Bro ran all the way into the basement as far away from the bomb site as possible and caught me while I was on a drone safe from every spawn peak.

I started playing Siege at release and by no means am I anywhere near fully understanding the game especially since I didn’t play for like 3+ years in the middle. But it’s awesome to see this because it reminds me of starting myself. Although it was diff back then bc everyone was new and I kinda hit the learning curve relatively quickly by figuring out the maps to an extent (stairway locations are step 1) there was definitely frustration lol. Great vid and I’d be happy to help you learn some tips if you want. I know nothing is more satisfying than learning something on your own, but just throwing it out there. Def will subscribe to share in the journey 👍

I’m a youtuber who main R6 as well and I can tell you it’s so frustrating. When the trailer of R6 came out, I was a kid at the age of 15, who looks to play a realistic gun game, and this game comes out, but until I graduated from secondary school then I started play the game in 2018, but before that I already watched some RU-vidrs playing this game. It’s totally different when watching RU-vidrs play and myself, positioning, aiming, timing, peeking, map knowledge and many other stuffs, and until this moment I’m commenting, I just felt frustrated by losing two ranked games and closed the game. I’m already a Platinum player but still always felt frustrated to die, sometimes by your teammates stupid mistakes, sometimes you dumb position and positioning, or sometimes just the wrong place at the wrong time. However, this game is super addictive that when you have luck and skill at the same time, getting kills makes you feel so good that other FPS game never can offer, R6 would be my ever favourite FPS game till I die. Good luck to your game as well, if you need a friend you’re welcome to find me.

Great video, this is fun for me to watch. You are a fantastic creator and earned my sub! I played R6 from launch through the first 4 years, and recently started playing again. The thing about Siege, it absolutely forces you to do things correctly if you want to get even remotely decent. It forces you to understand and master room clearing, cover vs concealment, using cover/rounding corners, peakers advantage, and most importantly game sense with the time remaining in the round, and both where defenders location and what the playing field looks like. You need discipline and patience to play and really enjoy Siege, if you try to play it like COD you will never get out of copper. Watch every kill cam and learn from what they did and what you could've done.

Glad to have you on the R6 journey! Can definitely be a frustrating and toxic game. But you nailed it at 10:33. Sometimes a team needs everyone fragging and some days your shots are off so you should play support characters. People think just because someone has a low K/D that they threw but I’m 1.5 E1 and smart plays are greater than frags on a losing round. Keep it up duderino!!!

Tip: use the map training and shooting range to warm up map knowledge and aim before matches. Map training is REALLY good for map knowledge. It’s how i learned the newer maps after coming back and will absolutely help with room names and locations. Shooting range is basically aimlabs built into the game. The 3rd room is really good to improve aim

This game is the definition of trust the process. Learn from every kill (what you did right) and every death (what you did wrong). The more you play and learn you will naturally get better and your win loss ratio /KD should also naturally improve over time. The best feeling in this game is when you win your first clutch or get your first ace that is a feeling you will never forget. Keep at it and i hope you continue to have a great time.

I can relate! I’m sitting on 30ish hours myself, I’ll go from 1 game going 11-3 and getting 2 clutches to win the round, to next game going 0-7 and not understanding how I’m just that bad. The best thing I have found so far in helping me to progress, is spending time to learn the maps, and bomb sites, and learn what the operator abilities are. Whilst that sounds like a lot, I would just take half an hour to learn 1, maybe 2 maps in an evening, then play some games and hope I get my maps, and continue this process. I know about 13 maps atm, but couldn’t tell you how to play them or really remember the call-outs. Good luck on your journey

It really takes a lot of determination to start playing r6 alone and try to learn it from scratch, it's a lot easier if you have a friend to help you get into the game. That said, I did the same thing you did back in 2016, it wasn't as hard as it was with you because everyone was pretty much new to the game and there wasn't so much dept to the strategies people normally do, in the end it payed off and I helped my friends start playing the game

So I decided to re-open the game and got into gold 1 (kinda dropped down to gold 3 rn) but if I had to give you some tips, it would be: R6 is just as much memorizing specific operators, what their abilities are, different types of areas where enemies push, and finally: There will be bad days, and good days. One time I went 12-5 or something, but then the next day I went like 4-7. Be confident. If you get nervous, hop into a quick match and just rush. Play like you can easily beat every single opponent, and you’ll get more kills.

Love , the video man had me laughing really hard and it was just really enjoyable overall, When tagging someone on a camera, click up on the direction pad to tag them instead of actually scanning them so the enemy doesn't know you're scanning them it'll keep them from destroying the camera while still giving your team information the entire time and it's faster. I hope to keep seeing your content 🎉

One thing that helped me when I first started playing was just playing support operators and trying to defend objective, that way if I died my utility could still help the team, and by holding objective you start to learn where the default plants are, where people like to push and what not, that way even if you don’t necessarily know the map, you at least know objective.

After you play for a while and understand the game, there are still just frustrating things that happen if you get tunnel visioned on making a play or defending a certain spot. Part of this is simply the solo queue experience and can really be alleviated with a full squad. But there is just a lot of intel gathering you have to do if you don’t want to end up with a frustrating death, and even then someone might hit a lucky headshot. One of the worst things for me is when I get focused on pushing the bomb site and clearing a room, then I find out the guy with the bomb died on the other side of the map while I wasn’t paying attention, and the enemy is just camping it.

I’ve played this game since beta. Here are my thoughts on this video: When you called Kapkan thatcher I laughed audibly XD There is indeed a serious bell curve for learning this game and a lot of it is map knowledge and unique operator gadgets. A simplistic part of this game that makes it easier to grasp than Valorant is that operators or agents have only 1 unique ability as opposed to 4. A very cool detail you overlooked is how operators have their own unique weapon pool as opposed to one large arsenal that everyone can pick from. Finally, it is my belief that the frustration stems from every round having a sense of importance, and dying prevents you from keeping your impact in it, where games are scored much shorter, every round is important. The long prep and action phases adds to the overall importance of staying alive, as sitting out for three minutes because you died 10 seconds into the round sucks. Great video! I’m actually teaching my friend that just picked up the game too, today will be his third day playing siege and he is having quite some fun!

some things i would recommend is leaning which is a huge advantage, when you see an enemy on the cameras use your yellowing pings to mark them so they don’t know there being spotted.

When you see enemies by cameras or drones try to yellow ping them instead of scaning during the action phase !

Hey I’m a 7x champ on pc - Kbm. 1 Find Your playstyle, try different roles and find what works for you. 2 Find your mains, Find your best players for every map for example i main thermite and mute on consulate but on Oregon i main ash and alibi, so find different mains for every map. 3 Find a stack, the r6 discord helps you find player to stack with which gives you a better chance. 4 PRACITICE, i have 11,000 hours on siege and 2000 are prolly all practing good luck and hope you have fun

I was in the same spot as you when I started. The frustration does go away eventually. The game involves series of things such as sound cues, angles, aim and most importantly imo map knowledge now it’s okay to not know where your going before you try ranked but I think once you try ranked you’ll need to know the maps and callouts to help your team which will help you rank up but I think the reason your frustrated is because your overwhelmed with everything you have to learn

I recently got back into the game after like 5 years, and it’s been a ton of fun and also a headache to learn everything about the game again. You should definitely try to play with a few different operators, especially for ranked later on, because Jackal gets banned immediately 😂

I did play r6 from Y1S3 to Y4S2 and reached 2x diamond. I have started playing now again and the first 10 hours were also a struggle for me. Starting completely from the scratch must be so hard. Most of my friends are not willing to do this.great Video.

Realization was my favorite part that hit home for me. I started back in 2017 and played through some harsh metas before I put it down. Picked it back up a couple weeks ago and I am so impressed at how far this game has come. After getting wrecked for a couple of days I can confidently say I love this game

Played 4K hours of this game, didn’t touch ranked for the first 250 hours about. Started back in year 1, so things were a lot less complicated, I can imagine what is going on for new players now…

I certainly think it depends. I came back a month ago, after the last time playing being year 3 (6+ years ago). I played “like a copper” for the first 2 days before quickly getting my game sense now, and after a month now, I’m very close to my prime back then (ranked 1.0 Plat 2). The top three things I’d say contribute the most to being a good R6 player: 1) Teamwork/communication: This is the most important as you can win a singular round on your own, but it takes a team to win the game. Giving good, concise call-outs, and if you don’t know, then be quiet. Also playing ops that help the team rather than playing for yourself (I myself am an Ash main, but will only play her if everyone else already got the team playing ops, and I can still use ash to help the team on a specific map/location). 2. Good game sense/awareness. This can be learnt, but also can come from one’s natural ability. I myself have a good game sense and awareness, which has naturally made me great at fps games specifically (call of duty, R6, Star Wars battlefront), it has even helped with driving games, knowing when to turn and take the right corners without even learning much. Good headphones will help with awareness, and learning common angles and spots for traps. Not rushing, and giving yourself time to collect intel (droning) before making an aggressive push to take control of a room/area. 3. Gunfights/aim Being good at gunfights is important, since you want to be winning them when you get into them. Your aim is also important for this, especially if you’ve managed to sneak an aim on them from a different angle, you only get 1 second (sometimes less) before they hear your steps, see you, or just have the intuition to turn around and check their flank, possibly prefiring you. It’s important that when you see, you shoot, as you won’t get that same chance again. Treat it this way: if you can see them, they most likely can see you/know where you are too. A good way to help with aim and gunfights. Play free for all, or ranked. Don’t practice in casual, as it sets unrealistic expectations for ranked and you are against players who aren’t taking it seriously/don’t play seriously (that’s the reason they’re in a casual) Extra note: stay calm. It’s easy to get angry; but at the end of the day, you were outplayed. Always accept you lost and move on to the next round/game. The moment you become deeply negative about yourself and the game, the more you will lose, trust me.

Watching your gameplay you were already good as a beginner. I play console and the recoil is nearly impossible to even deal with. There’s only a handful of operators with good guns that lack recoil. But solo queuing is definitely a whole different ballgame than playing with friends

Your aim is very good for a new player bro. Can tell you have played other fps games. When I was starting out siege I watched a lot of pro league streams which helped a lot. Most of what you see won’t actually help as the strategies are very different from low level ranked. But it will help with map knowledge, call-outs and some solo strategies.

I'd say it takes about 200 hrs to actually grasp the basics of this game. And it's only the beginning. And it's 100% worth it. I got 4k hrs on it and I ain't even that good, still constantly learning things. This game will beat you up, but if you endure it, it will reward you greater than any game ever will.

Nah, the basics are fine. You understand how each operator works and how each gadget and attachment works in around 100 hours. The problem is understanding map manipulation, those 300 different spawn peeks etc etc etc

A tip i have is the try and aim higher up, as time goes on, you will eventually know how to aim head height. it is very helpful to get the enemy dead as fast as possible to aid you in getting the win

My first 23 hours have been "oh Im dead, no idea how" 300x. Then losing a gunfight where I actually see the other person another 200x. I think I've gone 5 standard games in a row without a single kill. Its so frustrating its crazy. I want to play because CS2 is so bad right now and I have 2700 hours in cs so I know how to hold angles and crosshair placement. But this game is a different beast. Honestly makes me wonder if even continuing to try to play is even worth it.
