There is a bit of a misconception on his asphyxiation shot. It is NOT fire. That's just an animation. I believe it is a chemical reaction that removes o2 from the air. Also the bolt is detonated about 1 or 2 feet from the surface. Not on it. That's why it doesn't get people through barricaded walls and doors.
Thanks for the videos! I recently picked up Siege and I've been putting off doing competitive as I know I'll get my ass handed to me. I know it's just part of it to learn what you've done wrong and get better on those fronts to better yourself, but these videos have really been helping me out with knowing what each character can do. yeah I know they say that but for all intents and purposes that's what it does. You get glowy orange flames that light up the area of effect and it burns you. Whether that's because of a chemical based reaction or not doesn't much change the end result.
The only reason there is flames is to show the its there. In real life it's completely clear which they can't put into the game because that would be broken. Also fire burns oxygen as is and if it was fire it wouldn't be able to burn enough oxygen fast enough to choke you out. And just for kicks Thomas, asphyxiating*

TenZEDin They have rappelling gear, yeah, but I mean a literal zipline. Like an operator who can launch a line from an elevated position to another area and the team could use it to zip down the line to the end. If shot on the top window frame, you could use it to breach a window faster than blowing it and jumping through since you basically blow through it with sheer force.
Call me Khwezir ***** I know I was repel gear. No maps have open windows that you can shoot through from tall buildings anyway. You couldn't use this thing if it was put in the game.
TenZEDin That's the thing, you don't NEED open windows for a breach. Also, you wouldn't need to go too high above the combat zone. As I've said, you shoot it at the top of the frame, and if the window is boarded up, you'll kick straight through, and it would be the fastest way to breach a window. And I've seen maps with elevated positions scattered around, as well, just not all of them in particular. I think the use of the ability is on the creativity of the player. Besides, this is R6, there'll probably be an accelerator on the special clip you use, so you could pick up speed, even on a flat line.
The reason the incendiary bolts harm you if you are prone against a barricade but not if you are standing is because they are meant to not burn specifically the people but to burn the oxygen in the area
tip- if you got a glaz, stick with em, so when you see his smoke starting to fade, just shoot your smoke bolt, and it'll aupport him with longer peek time.
Imo making capitao a 2/3 armour operator would make him even better as he could sit either sit back and suppress enemies from a distance and take minimal damage or be up close and personal and survive a tad longer than 1 armour rated operators so I think they did this as a balancing technique
The fire isn’t what kills you but the lack of oxygen. It’s called “Asphyxiation Bolt” meaning and bolt (not arrow because it’s a crossbow not a bow) that creates fire and burns up all the oxygen in its circumference so if your in its circumference then you won’t get oxygen meaning you’ll suffocate and die. Once the oxygen is all burnt into the fire then it goes away since it needs oxygen. Plus it doesn’t start off as fire but as chemicals that sucks up oxygen therefore creating fire. Capitão is a smart man.
I have noticed shooting the bolt straight on the guy nearly always guarantee a DBNO but once on the ground the enemy is often "under" the fire and can crawl away safely. So odly it's better to shoot at the enemy feets than on him.
Question: Does the fire bolt have a pouring effect when shot at ceiling or high corners? For example firing a bolt onto the ceiling above a camping defender from the floor only for the fire to drop onto the defender.
I know it's old, but his name is basically pronounced "Capitowng." Don't accentuate the "g" because it's actually a "stop" to the "o" sound with an "n." (I know, confusing.) For example: Juan in Portuguese is spelled: "João."

What I don’t get is how the “fire” doesn’t burn anything. I would make the arrow catch fire on impact, spreading ashes while doing so. I mean, the area of effect in my idea should be enough to burn a hole through wooden barricades, make reinforced barricades red (nothing more), get detected by Glaz’s sniper rifle (thermal optic...), and be effected by Jager’s ADS (or whatever it is). The heat should expand through newly opened areas, but let there be a radius for full effect. Just proposing my opinion and my idea of what the ability should be.
I know this sounds stupid but what does the damage actually represent like if it's 52 does that mean I can hit someone twice and cool them cause it's over 100?
Maybe do a quick video on grenades since I didn't know about the smoke grenades being client side even though it was fairly obvious. Just feel like I may be overlooking small things.

+icycat25 Again man, good shit on the vid. a lot of information. one thing i would have hoped you would have touched on that you might have but not directly is the duration of the asphyxiating bolts. You mentioned that you could hold off an enemy at a choke point for about 20 seconds if you fire both bolts. but i wasnt sure if that was a actual time or just a time you estimated. but other than that, great vid.
Should I buy capitao or hibana? I love both, and I use both play styles equally, so which ones just better overall with map knowledge, versatility, crowd control, etc.
Hibana. Fucking amazing and super versatile. she has 3 speed so she can reach anywhere quickly. you can flank with her through anywhere given her gadget which can destroy reinforced pellets. Type 89 is crazy good no recoil with acog
Would've been cool if u could ignite the gas bolts with the fire bolts for an even bigger fire! Because the smoke doesn't look normal (It's kinda blueish)
They should make a game mode called traitor for example say I'm pulse thermite can communicate with him and actually betray the team without getting removed from match or freiendly Fire I suck at english
Pronouncing the nasal A in "ão" can be pretty hard for english speakers because the phoneme does not exist in english. For what you hat to work with the pronounciation is very good. If some other brazilians give you a hard time for saying it weird just tell them to "ir a merda"
I think it is a great idea if ubisoft counter balance him with smoke which inciendery bolts can burn chemical gas and smoke can walk through the burning gas it will make the gameplay more dynamic
