I do have to say they need to make an instruction book on how to use everything instead of having to go to you tube for directions all the time.

Actually you posted that incorrectly.. first you put the rainbow on the setting you want and then turn it off. Then hold the plus button and hourglass button and hold while turning on. Continue to hold until the lights get done flashing and then let go. It should start at the same speed now every time you turn it on. Your message implies to hold the buttons while it’s on and that doesn’t work because it turns on the timer and makes the speed go up. Just a clarification 😊

While the Rainbow is off. Hold down the + and the hour glass timer button. as you're holding those, press the POWER button (You don't need to hold the power button) but continue holding the other 2 buttons until the top lights start flashing. This is a MEMORY MODE. Whatever mode you turn your rainbow off, it will turn back on at that same mode. Ex: If it's on level 2 when you power it off, it will automatically go back on mode 2 when you power it back on

actually while its off hold the hourglass and turn it on. then it turns to low

Kevin Weaver AWESOME! That’s a great tip! For those using the machine as an air cleaner more often than a vacuum, it would be handy to have it always start on level 1 or 2, instead of 4.

Kevin Weaver do you have access to or know where to find a complete guide listing these “secret” functions? Most Rainbow reps I’ve spoken with don’t know any of them.

Did you buy the machine new from a rainbow distributor? That does not sound normal. We run our SRX for 3+ hours every Saturday while cleaning without issue. We do change the water out 3-4 times in between those 3+ hours. We also clean the separator and remove all hair from the brush roller, in the power nozzle, before putting it away each use.

@@rainbowinsight1017 yes I change the water out regularly I took it back in and 30days later rainbow calls me and said the HIPAA filter was clogged she checked board that had the recall on it it was fine she also plugged it up and let it run for 20 minutes it did not get hot she also replaced the rainbow mini mate it's ready for pickup I asked her how often are you supposed to change the HEPA filter she said it was supposed to be changed every couple of years but with a wood stove she's not sure if it does it again make sure I bring it back in Now I know a few other people that has the same kind of rainbow my next door neighbor got hers about 3 months or 4 before I got mine her sister is the one that referred her her sister got the letter in the mail on a recall and was showing some signs of the recall she got hers fixed and I ain't had a problem since now my next door neighbor did not get a recall letter and is having a lot of trouble out of hers she said that she's taking up there this will make four times it is doing like mine except after awhile it will hit the red button it will not turn on at all and if they don't offer to give her another one or fix it right this time she will not make another payment I said I cannot blame you I have seen a lot of people on here saying they were having trouble out of this model my Grandma had one when I was old enough to use it to help her clean I loved it that is why I wanted one but if you can't use it why pay 4 something that expensive Does anybody have the main number might need to look it up online just thought I would ask your first

Hi Felicia - be sure to check whether your Rainbow is covered by the recall. If it is, be sure to contact your distributor to have it checked/fixed.

Be sure to fill srx to just cover the bin-bubble. When water level is low, water filtration is diminished, and that leans on hepa. Stay in touch with rexair on recall, and keep in touch with your local distributor.

Water on the bin to the top of they bin-bubble? Separator attached correctly?

I’m excited for you! It’s a great machine! Keep an eye on eBay. I’ve seen some great ones come and go for amazing prices. When people are desperate for quick $$ they’ll let em go for a bargain.

@@rainbowinsight1017 I would never get a rainbow on eBay! Even the owner of eBay wouldn’t buy a rainbow on eBay! There’s no warranty and they’re usually stolen!

Barb, there are no handle settings on the Rainbow SRX. It’s either On or Off. The power settings on the main body are level 1, level 2, level 3, and level 4. Each level increases the motor speed. Level 4 is the highest.

Great question! I'm not familiar with the difference between the SRX when it was first released (as shown in this video) and an updated version. Someone needs to test it for us :)

oh no! I wonder if this has to do with the update they made to the SRX since it was first released. The model I used in the video was one of the very first released over 3 years ago.

Turn the machine on and don’t set a timer. Just let it run.

Set your phone, and check in. 😉It will dry up then water if on high for too long. That is bad for motor.

Roy Mazingo Thank You, if you know it I would like to know it. In Europe there is a new normative that the maximum power is arround 900w but most are 550 to achieve A class energy label. Only watter vacs are out of the normative!!

In our home we just use the highest level for all cleaning. In all the time owning rainbow, we’re never experienced any issues cleaning on the highest level. The only time we run the machine on a lower level is when we’re running it as an air purifier and want the machine running quieter. I hope that helps 😊

@@rainbowinsight1017 first thought is water capacity adding this gimmicky hinge system completely takes away the ability to use a larger water basin. The water becomes ineffective in a rainbow rather quickly with the standard water basin on large homes so the four court to me is a must. Not only that they actually shrunk the water basin down to I believe it's a quart and a half now. I also think taking the side brushes off on the brush head was a mistake The side brush is on my e2 black work great they pick up all kinds of hair and debris that find themselves up against the corners of walls sometimes it takes a pass or two but they get it. also rather than having the debris sucked up through the center like the e2 black it's offset to one side with a smaller hole more clogs and you get more flow of air on one side of the brush roller than the other which is a major fail. I have them bring it to my home to test my suspicions after watching some complaint videos and sure enough I put sand under my rug on my tile entryway I vacuumed one side with my rainbow e2 black the other with the new rainbow my e2 black out about 75 80% of the sand after a few passes The new rainbow left nearly all of it. I've been a rainbow fan my whole life I've owned three of them awesome machines I always look forward to the new model coming out every 7 to 10 years I have been saddened by this latest edition I feel it is a major fail oh also the way the hose connects is a total gimmick and that's not going to last in my opinion

@@Demoguy87 I have had mine since August 31st 2020 and everything that you have mentioned is everything going on with mine right now my next door neighbor also has one and she has had nothing but trouble out of hers this makes three times she's went into the office she said that if they don't get it right this time she'll not make another payment on it 😢 I have asked a couple questions and explain in the comments of what mine is doing and smelling

@@rainbowinsight1017 I commented on the recall it said June 2019 until June 2020 I bought mine in August 2020 and it's doing a burnt smell and within one or two hours of running it gets hot to the touch and I turn it off for 20 or 30 minutes and repeat I'm going up there to the Office this Monday (Dec 27th 2020)

@@feliciachitwood9400 wow I'm so sorry to hear this...I would go to your local dealer and ask them to trade to old one or give you money back if they say no I would set up with posters and my broken rainbow on public sidewalk in front of there store during there events
