Hello There and welcome to Sins Of The Solar Empire 2 a new RTS/4x game... well its actually a very dedicated sequel to Sins Of The Solar Empire 1 with vastly improved graphics and technology from this decade join me as I attempt to take on a game against the Impossible ai (literally its a setting) and use the power of beams to destroy them all XD

The big thing that turns hard games against the AI is phase jump inhibitor. The AI never retreats and never targets it.

Not sure if its too late, but you can reassign your garrisons (and hangars) strikecraft configuration for pure bomber spam. This + Starbase + Hanger spam makes a single system with 1-2 support systems pretty much unassailable entirely by the AI. 70+ bomber wings nearly 1 shots every capital ship, a few waves and the AI always runs off. Adding extra military slots from the upgrade and minor factor item makes winning, albeit slowly, but inevitable by a slow, encroaching fortress of a faction. This works against Impossible AI too, they just can't win.

"who makes these many capital ships", I think this is the new tec meta since they still dont have good aoe for lategame, and since they changed how you make capitals vs sins 1 and you have SO much more money than the other factions, its the only logical choice lol

Has 200k Credit income, complains about infrastructure upkeep. . . @55:00 put a phase disrupter in the system to trap em, especially in this situation where they just keep running the moment you show up.

If the abilities auto cast in a way that isn't totally moronic, just auto cast them.

It's honestly not much difference from a passive if you have enough ships auto casting.

depends on the ability if you are referring to disable you can time it to keep them in a well longer if it randomly fires you are wasting a chance of catching a cap kill. Same thing for the defence abilities the ai just uses it asap being shot by 1 fighter or you can use it manually if its being hit up by the whole fleet. I guess another way of answering is the auto cast is moronic

There is planetary item that boosts static defence damage by 50%. Does it work on starbase?

It does indeed work on Starbases. Adding their Heavy Beams and Missile upgrades makes them able to take out 4-6 Capital ships per Starbase before they go down against a 2000 AI force. With proper use of Carrier Garrisons swapped to pure bombers + Hangers, you can defend against most AI aggression without your intervention provided the system has 1-2 additional garrisons in range. You can also cheese out the AI by moving the garrison carriers in a big circle as they're faster than capital shops while the bombers slowly kill them all.

@@ThreatXtra you might just not understand them very well then. i found them significantly harder to play than TEC. and their vigilis and domina are currently bugged too.
