Oh my God, that is so awesome. That is so great that they have played this tune. It is a rarely played tune. On their marvelous CD "Nigels Dream" you can find it too. 😊
'Some Cold Rainy Day' was recorded by Bertha 'Chippie' Hill in Chicago in 1928. It was probably composed by Richard M. Jones, the pianist/composer who sometimes worked with her. This song is also on Tuba Skinny's 2018 Album entitled 'Nigel's Dream'.
Thanks for the background on this sweet song Pops. This is why I enjoyed reading your book and highly recommend it to all that love TS and the old time music.
What sparkles in this video is the great look we get of band members. It is tough to film a subject spread out so far from side to side. Pat doesn't try to get the whole band in the shot but centers on soloists. While busking on the streets is the natural habitat for this group, it is nice to see them clearly.
Absolutely wonderful, lovely real natural talent, everyone like, pieces of a jigsaw,Erica is so special, raw sexy calm beautiful, please don't change, you have that zuzz
And people want smiles as well! As if this band don't love what they do. I don't believe it can be possible to play with this intensity and feeling, and not love it. And smiles, Erika usually has enough to melt an iceberg.
@@patkeeg1 I think all of us would like to hear Erika higher in the mix, but I would guess this is recorded through a single mic right in front of the stage and people in the audience will hear her much better because they will hear the output of the mix through the speakers. Of course the instruments don't suffer from this so much.
''Music doesn't lie. If there is something to be changed in this world, Then it can only happen through music.'' -Jimi Hendrix ''The are artists who can wrest us up, & place us into themselves; into their work. These are the 'One's Who' will continue to wrest us up... Even beyond their appointed rests in peace. So stay thirsty for these 'One's Who' my friends. For they are the Assuager's of our spiritual thirsts.'' -William Gilpin 112619 Obligements Pat: for the platform in which, for me & Jimi to pop-off.
SOME COLD RAINY DAY - Bertha "Chippie" Hill - 1928 .... Erika has her own variations ........ You'll come back some old day When your head is turning gray, You'll come back some cold, rainy day. Baby, look where the sun's done gone, Now, you're gonna leave your home, You'll come back some cold, rainy day. When the snow begins to fall, And you ain't got no friends at all, You'll come back some cold, rainy day. Hmmmmm, Hmmmmm, You'll come back some cold, rainy day. When your stomach hangs like an empty sack, And it feels like it's lower in your back, You'll come back some cold, rainy day. When you can't get out on your run, And you need to have your lovin' done, You'll come back some cold, rainy day. When you get down, sick in your bed, And you need someone to hold your achin' head, You'll come back some cold, rainy day. Now, when your good man turns you down, And your feet is out on the ground, You'll come back some cold, rainy day.

The management should fix the sound imbalance. I can hear Erika, but her voice gets drowned in the instrumental music. Not their fault, I think. Pity. Apart from that, great as always.
