Good morning sweet friends!
This week has been a rainy and dreary one and I was beginning to fall into a funk. I am trying very hard to make the best of it! So today I decided to put on my prettiest apron, a Christmas gift several years ago, and make something in the kitchen for my family. I have only learned to make bread in the last couple of years. I'm too nervous to enter the world of sourdough as of yet, so this recipe really is as easy as it gets! I will link it below!
When we lost power a few nights ago it was nearly sundown, so we of course gathered up all of our candles and lit as many as we could. I then picked up my 18 year old daughters beautiful copy of Pride and Prejudice. I've been meaning to do it for ages....so a power outage seemed as good a time as any. I actually hadn't picked up the book since I wrote my high school senior paper on it....many moons ago. LOL Anyhow, it was such a peaceful experience reading such a wonderful book by candlelight that I decided to recreate that moment only I added in a cup of coffee in a pretty tea cup...because well we had POWER!
Lastly, after the rain momentarily paused and the bread was done baking my youngest and I ventured out to one of our local thrift stores in search of treasures. Stay tuned to the end to see what we found!
