Here’s what I’m using to fertilize the veggies in my raised beds but more importantly the BIG reason my plants are so happy! It all starts with the “mattress”.
I agree on good soil. In the Midwest we have a lot of clay. I use mowed leaves every Fall & my homemade compost. I own a dwarf bunny to use his pelleted manure as fertilizer. The fertilizer is well rounded. Not just nitrogen. Too much nitrogen, & you get full lush leaves & no fruit. I also use fish emulsion on young plants. Watering deeply is important too.
