Ahh amazong Mark! So glad you've got one! Don't ever think you can't contact me for details too buddy. Pleased you've got one though! They are good quality I have to admit! I love mine. Danny 🌱
Personally I would line the opening of it up with the door for asthetics. Then you might have room for a narrow bed along the fence too. But it's yours, not mine!
I like the look of these I'm thinking of investing in these next year. This year I made raised beds, 6ft by 3 and they'll do for a while but these are nicer..
That's smashing Mark! Just a word of warning for everybody really... check the nuts occasionally. Nothing wrong with the products, I have put 9 together, they are amazing and I wouldn't be without them! But, yesterday, I hadn't noticed that a bolt had come out and I gouged a hole in my leg on some metal. Mine was a double height and the midway bold has come out over winter. I should have checked, but these things happen, so it is worth checking 👍.
Morning Mark. The Vegega certainly looks fantastic, but something Mark from Self Suficient Me has pointed out (and he has used them for years) is that the cross braces can rust and weaken. When that happens, the weight of the soil tends to make them bow out. I'm sure it would take many years for that happen, but just something to be aware of. Otherwise quite a statement piece! 😊 Take care, Annie 🐞 🐝 🌱
@@marksallotmentplot thanks mark, appreciate the quick reply……I’m having to get rid of my allotment after 15 years due to time constraints and I’m trying to squeeze a very small plot in at home so at least I have something. Rich.
I have just ordered two of these large U shaped beds and two of the small V shaped or Heart shaped beds. I am at my allotment as we speak unboxing them and checking all the parts and just about to build the first of the four. I’m starting with one of the small 17” tall V shaped beds. Judging by the amount of boxes and parts though I think building both V shaped beds and the two large U shaped beds that you have in this video, well I am going to be here for a while. Should hopefully be worth it in the end though. It’s going to totally transform my allotment plot. I’ve only just taken on the plot and it is in a right Sorry state. Full of weeds, paths too narrow to use, old wooden beds everywhere that are falling apart, piles of old wood and other stuff. It does have a decent shed on it though so a good start. As soon as I pull out the rest of the old rotten wooden beds and get the last of the weeds under control hopefully the fun will begin. 🌱
The metal beds are brilliant. They look so good once they're put together and planted up. Hopefully they'll last a lot longer and take less maintenance than the wooded ones as well. I've been thinking about getting another couple for next year. Taking out a couple of the older wooden beds and replacing them with the metal ones. 👍🌱👍
@@marksallotmentplotthanks for the reply mate. Yea they certainly seem to be good. I have used in ground beds before, also raised beds that I built from expensive Cedar Wood, loads of containers too but never metal. I spent a long time thinking it over and finally decided to take the plunge and shell out the cash on four of these metal beds. Time will tell if I did the right thing. So far the only negative that I have heard is that over time the metal brace bar (that stops the panels from bowing outwards) can rust and fail after a few years of being constantly damp under the soil. Hopefully this isn’t the case and they do last close to the 20year advertised life span expectancy.
