Liz & Mike, You two have done a great job with your RU-vid channel since you started. I'm so proud of you for the content you have created and what you have accomplished with your place. Turning it into a good homestead is difficult, and you are really making great progress and accomplishments on every addition you have made. All the while on a huge learning curve.

Things look good there. I was going to say the garden with cucumbers they will crawl all over. Get a cattle panel and make a tunnel trellis garden out of it they work great and it will keep everything in that bed. I have a large one set up here i just video on it few weeks ago. Good luck.
Cedar is pretty rot resistant. My cabin is behind my mothers place. Im trying to get it finished. Have a 2 story 16x20 cabin im thinking of cedar floors with hickory walls. I have a alaskan sawmill i bought last year but just just this year, bought a stihl 391 to use with mill. Upgraded to a 25 inch bar and chain. Bought first a chisel chain to mill a cedar log, then a semi-chisel chain to mill hickory slabs. Have garden plants started. Have to finish the cedar log slabs to make the raised beds but then have a crap load of hickory im cutting then stacking for a few months before splitting. And then after i get done cutting firewood i have to finish cutting more slabs of hickory for inside walls and front porch and steps. Thinking of digging out a root cellar under the cabin also. To store my food from garden and add a couple small chest freezers as another way to store foods other than canning, freeze drying, and dehydrating. I may smoke some meats this next deer season. Getting ready to not use the digital currency system that our government wants everyone to take part in. So trying to get what i can done, for just in case. Maybe barter with some firewood if i must. Getting it all stock piled...
