It is setting drywall compound. It will hold up better than regular, pre-mixed drywall mud. You can get it at Lowes or Home Depot.

Hi Alan, have you ever tried to place the stencil over the dry raised stencil and then paint it. That's how I paint raised stencils. It makes the paint job much easier.
