I always thought the front living room layouts are far and away the best layouts... for many reasons. It does a great job of separating the RV into more of a house. Great for entertaining

I have a Montana rear Den. It's awesome! Way better than a front living room because not only does it have the separation but it has way more storage than a front living room.

Agree but we had a gentleman tell us he would never own a front living room because of all the heat. He said the cab is hotter than the rest of the camper. But I still want one myself.

That’s definitely the welder’s fault but where the heck is the QA/QC inspector? That mainly falls on them to let something like that get out the door. I have 16 years welding on everything around the country and I can literally weld that better with my eyes closed.

That was some of the worst welding I have seen in my life on that drop frame and yes I earned my living welding for 45 years before retiring so that would be a deal breaker for me.

I'm an ex pipe fitter and welder. I am currently a 3rd party inspector (CWI / API) in my opinion those welds are a safety issue.

Love the separation. Don’t love the length from rear axle to bumper. It’ll drag with dips in the roads, like some campgrounds/parking lots have. Also tail swing will be more pronounced. This type of rig should only be handled by experienced drivers.

Huge trailer, holy smokes! Nice layout, and the bedroom area is huge. Interesting to have a drop frame on the rear end of the trailer. Not sure about the waterboard though. I think it would be better if it was self contained. The outdoor kitchen was definitely unique!

Looks like a piece of crap. The fit and Finnish the welds yuk. The doors for the rear kitchen access doesn't even line up. Random screws holding trim on outside and the bottom rocker panel aft of the wheels on the left side is all bowed. Under rated tires You would never make through your first trip out. This thing would live at the dealership. I'll stick with my beastly 2006 jayco. It's a tank.

Are there any drawbacks to having the axels that close together? Do you thing the rear drop frame makes it low enough to drag on steep grade changes?

Christopher Higginbottom, I was having the same concern about the low hanging frame. We were dragging the overhang on our toy hauler getting on and off of the Lake Roosevelt ferry. It looks like it's a good thing that the sewer drain is behind the frame work! Nice rig, though...

@@tn65s Holy Smoke, that ought to do it! I ordered a pair of dual 8" swivel casters. A friend of mine is a welder/fabricator. He made a pair of steel plates that are welded to the I-beam frame. The casters are bolted to the plates. Haven't had a chance to test them yet but I'm sure tired of tearing stuff off the rig. Safe travels y'all.

lee glidewell I’ve got a set of solid steel rollers bracket mounted to my hitch...couldn’t get up my driveway with them. They are absolute life savers. They are used every single time I leave and return to the house.

Why not a SRW truck? My F250 will handle 18000 fifth wheel/gooseneck with a tongue weight of 3200.

Umm i would not pay that for this. Underside welds look like my 10 year old did them. Pipe in ass wouldn’t last long in 90% of places in PNW. Needs far more protection. Was that insulation around pipe? The shower and back is not even lined up correctly. 100% chance of leakage and mold. Layouts kinda cool. The slide out kitchen area is okay. I would have put in front sliding drawers under sink vs end sliding. Traeger and griddle would fit under there if done this way. Traeger’s are more common than you think. They have a rv one about size of griddle shown here. Would also give an option for something else or even a lower counter space for those who need it lower to prep food.

Love the outside kitchen. Wow! Thanks for mentioning cpap machine. I always am looking for side tables next to the bed. When the bed is in a slide there is usually no room for a side table.

currently have a Heritage Glen but this particular one could run into issues pulling the kitchen that far out. Also you can be set up at parks where the front to rear rise/drop is way off. I’ve been there and that outside kitchen could either be on the ground or quite a few feet off the ground. Thanks again JD.

I'll never understand the draw of these split kitchen/living room designs. Yes the living room is decent but that kitchen is so compresed. For that size trailer a I'll take a Montana 3120, but to each their own.

You should check the rv door size vs the fridge depth w/o the doors. Good to know if the fridge could go through the door ahead of time.

Bought a 2020 36FL. only difference is the storage cubby in the bedroom above the 1/2 bath. Welds on mine are not nearly as scary. We are full timers and storage is a good amount. Towing is pretty easy with our Chevy 3500 Duramax. Outdoor kitchen and fridge are great!

I didn't like the way the theater seat blocked the stairs to the living room. Strange drop frame setup in the back. I could just hear the rear dragging going through a dip in the road.

Price is nice! Floor plan is great! But those air conditioners are not as quiet as they claim! We just had a new Coleman Mach ll installed and it’s noisier than the old one that was replaced! Whisper air is the only way to go! Just my opinion.

Love everything about this fifth wheel to the outside departments and the living areas. But what turn me off about this unit is when you said Coleman air-conditioning. I had two Coleman units on my fifth wheel RV and had nothing but trouble with them. First time with problems they wouldn't cool and kept running all day . Had to check out because we had the warranty. They said that had to add charge them . Two weeks later they were freezing over. We decided to change air-conditioning units to a different brand. So far a year later. No problems. Love this unit. But the Coleman units would have to go !

I learned this from a good friend of mine that builds trailers for construction work and is certified by the ministry of Ontario Canada as a fabricator and a welder. He has the authority to certify the complete build and explained it to me.

Awesome unit. Definitely a couples entertainment unit. Like others have said, I would like to see a bigger spread on the axles to help it go down the highway a little bit better. I think that is the only thing that would have to be changed at the factory, though. Although, it might not need it with the drop and added weight in the rear. It might tow just as expected. The other upgrades are easy enough to do in the driveway.

@@abyk.r.7855 this is our first RV we have ever owned, but I really don’t have anything to really complain about other then maybe the cheap tires it came with and maybe they could of added more lighting to the outside but other then that it’s very spacious and like you mention the toilet isn’t so close to the door everything on it is LED lighting and we’re living in it full time so far nothing to really complain

I like this one. I wish I had a permanent site, I think I would trade my Montana for this one. You didn't say if this was a 4 season. I could also be happy with not having a 1/2 bath and putting a walk in pantry with the washer/dryer there and more hanging closet where they have the washer dryer now. There is not dining seating is why they have the barstools and the little tables on the couches. I could comfortably live in this one. I am assuming there is also storage under the bed??? I might put a fat bead of caulking on the shower seam and I wish they maybe put some sort of sliding door to cover the exposed shelves in the bathroom, this is not a bathroom for men, I guess they get the 1/2 bath to pee in. Tank sizes??

Question that just popped in my mind. Might’ve been answered before might be a stupid question. I’ve seen you review many rigs with residential refrigerators. How on gods green earth would you ever replace one if your repair guy has said yup this thing has met it maker? Yea I can get the old one out cut it to pieces but seems like these rigs are built around them. Just curious

Generally you can fit them through the door if you take the fridge doors off. If that's not an option, you can pop the back living room window in about 10mins and slide it out through there. If that's not an option, you can remove a slide and get it out that way. By far that's the most time consuming and hardest way. 99% of the time the fridge can be repaired and doesn't need to be replaced. Also, many residential fridges aren't full size and can fit out of the same opening as a standard gas/electric fridge.

I have never liked sewer controls in a shared bay and in this case its right next to your outside grill station. Not a good move. Also where is your hose likely to end up? Same bay and in that pull out tray.

What rv has front living room, mid kitchen, two toilets and some kind of extra bed space bunk house or loft. I really like these kind of layouts but i wish they had some kind of extra room or sleeping space apart from living room that can be used as bed when sofas are extended.

Great floor plan & outside storage and kitchen setup. I'm not in love with the bar stool eating area. I would have preferred a table and chairs. It's nice that you have seating for 6 in the living room and only seating for two for dinner.

Purchased ours in February of 2020 and we love it. It is big at 44 feet but pulls like a dream with my 2018 ram 3500. The outdoor kitchen is the best I have seen. The only issue we have had was the outdoor kitchen faucet was leaking. I wanted a higher one so I replaced it myself. All in all real nice 5th wheel. I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm asking a legitimate question because I'm new extremely new to RVing. Is it he quality of a Wildwood RV a bit lower than say a Grand Design RV? It seemed to sound a little hollow to me. I don't mean to be disrespectful, but I am looking for a fifth wheel . This is the first I've heard of this brand of RV.

As a Forrest river heritage glen owner, I can completely attest that only one thing in this video is correct. It looks nice, everything else is trash, the construction on these (most Forrest river) is absolute garbage. I’m honestly considering “accidentally” unpinning at the boat ramp to get rid of mine. As RV’s go, value retention is questionable, but I bought mine rolled off the lot and instantly got a letter from the bank before they even sent the title that the trailer was worthless and I’d never get out of it. What I’m saying is throw 50-60 k in the trash and you’ll save the headache of having to deal with all the “warrantied repairs” that they “cover”. The only thing magical about this trailer is how fast it falls apart and how good you will become at fixing rv’s. So much storage to put all the tools and Aleve you will need to fix it. Buy a used school bus and transform it into an rv while you are absolutely drunk off your a** and you will have a better living space than what this will offer.

So if this is for a couple, i cannot see them happy with no dining space. All that TV watching seating not necessary. Why would you want to pay for all that just because you might have guests. Would rather see, for once, nice little office area that could also be dining w/o having to work at dining table. Or ditch the half bath and reconfig.

My only concern is how severely close those two axles were. It looked like maybe 2 inches between tires. If you ever wanted larger wheels, you’re out of luck. I think they layout is GREAT, but i think the fit n finish needs a little tweaking. It resembled a more. “Oh we need to sets of drawers on that wall, lets bolt this onto the wall” look. The outdoor sink needed to be moved farther to the left on that “kitchen counter”. I suspect there is more room between the griddle pushed in, and the sink. If you look, a human could not stand directly in front of that sink to do anything productive. Overall, great concept, just a little refinement needed!

Very nice, but there's no dining table. If you can bring four or more people (kids) with you, where do you all eat? Can table connections be added to the floor in front of both couches and tables be added there? A two person bar is great for a couple, but not with guests.

Why put a bathroom right next to the food area? Any RV owner with kids is going to understand how gross that is. Smells, fumes, etc. right next to where you eat.

The welds on the frame are horrendous!!! How did they make it past QC? The frame is a safety issue. I would be afraid it would fail.

I like everything BUT the half bath in the kitchen! Much rather have a butler’s pantry. Other than that, love the price on this unit and the interior is fantastic!

Not sure if you have another video explaining this but why are the axles rated at 7000 pounds if the trailer weighs more than that?

A couple of things to note, the wet bay is open to the rest of the storage area and pull out kitchen so if there is a leak at the hose connection, guess where the water goes? The storage next to the rear toilet is not a good place for anything that you don't want "splashed" on. I agree with the other comments about the quality of the welding

So question... tires close together, or tires and axles spread out creating more gap between axles. Which one tends to be better?

When I went camping I was walking around the campsites and saw a really lifted 6 slide fifth wheel with outside lights and it’s just so big.

Hey JD. Hoe you're well. Now we're getting closer to closing and getting serious about what we're gonna be serious about I found one of these on Trader. Been focusing on the Jayco brand, Pinnacle first with the North Point possible. Finding this one as Im searching I think we found "one of THE one's"! Really dig this. HOWEVER..... With the research I've been doing I've heard some "negatives" on the Forest River brand with some of their recent builds. May I ask your opinion on the subject of their quality please? This one is NICE!! Going for the used for pricing and "broke in period" concept as well. Big fan. Should be pretty obvious by now! Thank you for all you do for us folks.... Be Safe!

I believe all the major brands have some subbrands that are really good and some that are pretty bad. Forest River has a out 30 factories for their various brands and many of them are labeled Forest River, even though it's a subbrand. Like Thor, Winnebago, and many others, it comes down to the specific culture at the specific subbrand/factory you're interested in. Jayco, has about 10 factories and is a subbrand of Thor. Some are much better than others due to the leadership at each factory and how they supervise the construction process and what materials they use.
