Glad to see your business doing so well. Really enjoyed the last video where you talked about the work that goes into recording on an active job (and how it slows everything down). Appreciate the effort. Hopefully your commercial client pays soon!
Hey great job as always, it's a shame though that you still haven't been paid for your hard work I hope you get paid soon, by the way is that your lady I think I've seen her in past videos it's always nice to see a woman on the job. Shout out to the rest of the gang Ronald, Jeremy..etc, God bless you.
Hey Anthony - Yes that's Crystal. Everyone is always impressed with how hard she likes to work. I'll let them know you said hello. They get a kick out of the shoutouts for sure.
A nice series of jobs to watch from this complex; seems like each part will now be contributing to the movement of a ton of water. Great video and thanks to you and your team as always!
13:22 Really good work you really put a lot of detail into your work and if you notice the splash block for that home for the downspout is installed backwards
haha Shawn, nice shout out to post10. His channel is an interesting one! I did enjoy his visit out to CA to check out some reservoir that was super low last summer... I forget the name of it, now. but some cool history with covered tunnels and train trestle .
Yay! You're keeping up with the weekly video ;) Great job, love the videos. Wish y'all were in Texas. Not as easy here unfortunately. I had to rent a rocksaw and cut through bedrock to get my drain pipes in... arrgh!
If it were me and this is my 2 cents.. I do believe I would be filing a mechanics lien against that complex! You only have 120 days in NC to do it..BTW I enjoy your videos, keep up the good work!!
It’s really great to see your excellent work in action Shawn and I have seen some of post10 videos on you tube and what he finds when he is out and about exploring his neighbourhood is really interesting to see and then to hear him say what may or may not have caused the problem is remarkable and also his knowledge really excellent too especially about what he finds. Anyway Shawn until next time TaRa for a bit.
I work for the county, we don't have sewers (everyone is on septic) but we have a ton of stormwater catch basins. In fact I believe there are 785 catch basins that we are responsible for and we clean each and everyone every year. Takes a month to do. We don't allow cast iron, all catch basins have to be concrete. Risers get cemented on using a product called Jet Set. Would love to have easy fixes like what you had. Usually were doing large scale repairs. Great video.
Why wouldn't they allow cast iron? That seems ridiculous to have to remove that concrete if the basin plugs. Plus it looks like it would be super easy to crack again.
I am surprised that they didn't want you to put a bar or something like a grate in the area of the openings. That's so some little kids could possibly crawl into the basin, and get trapped in there.
Sorry to hear about your payment problems, Shawn. Seems to be a universal issue faced by contractors. Clients expect quality and on-time work by contractors but drag their feet when it comes to settling their accounts. I've gone through such hassle countless of times. Hoping you get paid soon. By the way, got a chuckle when you mentioned Post10. Great youtubers support each other... 😁
I hate having to wait months for payment. They give me the bum's rush to get the job done. I drop everything for them and they show their appreciation by making me wait forever. Maddening.
Nice job. A customer who gets a contractor that actually cares about the quality of the work is fortunate indeed. That fabricated lid looked really professional. Comment make sure to measure clearance or gap between lid and box so as not to create a trap for children. I think code for railings is a 4" sphere is not allowed to pass through a rail. I would think the same rule of thumb would be good for drainage control structures.
That payment issue stinks! I'm no 'BIZ WHIZ', But there's gotta be a way to resolve that issue! (not just this customer, but overall!) I DO understand that you don't want to lose potential future business, but... There's quite a few viewers on here dealing with the same issue. Hope you find 'THE ANSWER'! If you do, PLEASE SHARE!
I thought about that but I don't weld cast iron. You're right that a tack would be better than nothing but those things were solid once in place. Great suggestion!
@@cliffpalermo I agree, but depends on the type of cast. Some can not be welded. I have welded the cast center sections of Ford 8.8s to the tubes with preheat and post heat using 7018 rod. Has held up to beating it in my Jeep.
Property manager or city building department couldn’t provide a plot plan / blue prints? No one kept an as built? Watching your video at lunch is a nice change of pace.
Worked in commercial/industrial HVAC for many years. The worst as far as records of locations of anything?? Hospitals. Even with the most current records we found many "dead head" deleted and even still active utilities long forgotten about. With every new job we found notations by the architects and engineers "field coordinate" . That was because even they didn't know what was to be found and didn't want to be held liable for unseen problems.
Unfortunately raising the sewer manhole was pretty much all manual labor not really any tools to be able to work smarter. A great job with everything and yes you need Post 10 to clean out the debris!
I had no idea you could just slap some rings in to raise a manhole! I figured you'd have to frame & pour concrete or lay bricks....this is WAAAY easier! Also, what was the deal with the 2 ft. corrugated in the storm drain? I thought they always used concrete or ceramic pipes for things like that? (loved the Post 10 reference too 😁)
Hey Rob! Yea, those riser rings are awesome, but somewhat expensive. It was sturdy just with the rings and lid but packing the dirt around it made it completely solid. I'm not sure about that pipe...It looked like someone constructed it by hand..
So I commented this before I watched the video. Lol it’s ironic how it’s an apartment complex. And they aren’t paying, I doubt they let any tenets get 2 months late on their rent.
I would ask those who pay people after 60 days if they get their payments the same. It doesn't matter it's commercial client, people did work for you today, you pay next day!.
I completely agree. I have had a few contractors do work for me at my residence and feel funny not paying them same day of work completion. Good work deserves prompt payment. Cash should be in customers pocket prior to requesting work to be completed.
Maybe someone asked already but I couldn't find. Do you recall the name of the company that makes the riser/extension you used? Thanks. I need to do the same thing.
I’m guessing this drainage was put in by the town so what’s the legality behind that? I have a storm drain at the curb of my property, can I cut a hole and drain my roof directly into it? Thanks
I don't want a grill because it will clog up and the problem will happen again. If debris can fit under the lid it should flow through the culvert with no problem.
Yeah, they stacked stuff up, but they DID put stand-offs, allowing 'flow'! Granted, it kept THEIR stuff off the ground, and it would've been better NOT there at all, but they at least didn't interfere with your operation! But, Hey, I wasn't there! Good Vid ! Cool 'shout out' to Post10 !
@@GCFD A check in the mail…. Together with the buildings they are working hard to leave the 60s behind I see. Electronic banking is a thing by now…. I hope it finally arrived.
I worked for a man who was self employed. Before he started any work, he would have a signed credit agreement from the customer to himself giving them credit for 28 days to pay the full amount or civil court proceedings would be started with a view to bankruptcy . Many companies would refuse to sign, so he walked away. You are not a charity , you do it for wages. Hope this helps.
So far I haven't had any problems besides having to wait. I do know how to file a mechanic's lien and I always get a signed scope of work before we start. Thanks for the awesome comment Chris!
That is BS regarding payment. I work with contractors and when we get invoices we pay within 3 days. I have employees as well, they get paid every week. I am dependent on cash flow to pay my employees, the fact that they are "commercial" should expedite payment not delay it. I applaud your attitude and patience. Have your invoices turn the juice on after 7 days, it is 2021 you can pay anyone within seconds! Thanks and more please!
I have yet to do some commerical Tree work but I tell all my customers I have no problem putting a hole in your house with my mini ex if payment is not made haha. The looks I get when I say that sometimes are priceless but im dead serious. Us small business owners work hard for you money.
