Duolingo doesn’t seem to do much in my opinion. I learned Japanese the “old fashion way” so when I tried the app I was confused what they expected from what they were giving beginners. I recommend the site MEMRISE. Most languages are there.
People worry about stressing her by learning languages as she plays, meanwhile other kids stress over the insane amount of minutiae in their video games and gain nothing. Don't worry she's ok.
I know a girl from India whose childhood was spent in Norway (for her father's transferable job there) learnt 8 languages from her school classmates (fluent enough). At that time there was no social media to let the whole world know about it. But in later life she became interested in Science and now she is a Computer software engineer.
This child isn't just regurgitating information from repetition, she truly understands the construct of context and sentence and understands each word independently and simultaneously to form coherent communication She is very clever , bravo Bella

Children that age are energetic when they are out seeing new faces. It has a stimulating effect on a child. I remember, when I took my children to the water park, they had so much fun, but once it was getting later on in the day it was time to go home.... To avoid having to go through a scene at the park I would have to calm them down and tell them that it was time to go and we are coming back here because I like it here.... and they cooperated with me knowing we would return. Yes the park stimulates children, a child that is prompted to show off their abilities will get excited very much in the same way, as a child showing off their skating abilities, or watch me I have learned how to ride a bike. In this case this child has been able to learn how to speak and read multiple languages at the same time since she was born. Her mother explains this all in another video. This child may think that everyone can do this, and will understand this in a few years. When I went to school I learned how to read at 6, in 1962 that's how people treated their children. Children in the 60's were harshly treated if they upstaged their parents, with their abilities, so that was the common age for reading, now it's any age, or sometimes a parent would hold a child back from learning..... but these days a child is ready to read they want to read So let a child read and learn and discover their abilities, it doesn't matter how young the child is when they want to learn how to do something.
@@gracehello_hi1603 Grace, please don't feel ashamed of anything, right now at this moment, in my opinion, I think it is a blessing that you are young, you have your whole life ahead of you, you have your share of talents to share with people that your close to. Just think, like your brother that has ADHD, he was built that way, other people are built in other ways, some people are built like that little polyglot (genius in many languages) girl. She was born that way, and no one can explain why they are that way. It's not a problem, and it shouldn't be criticized, if anything these people are blessed from God with a talent. And I'm sure you have a talent to be discovered too. Grace, you're a wonderful girl and you have no reason to feel ashamed or sad.... If you have tears, please remove them, and replace them with a smile, if you have sadness, remove that and replace it with joy. Take Care my dear.

Dude most kids might cry when faced public and being center of attention like this, aside from Bella’s polyglot, she got confidence and can explain plus speak her minds clearly - even better than adults lmao
Now I understand where Bella came from and how she got to be where she is today. Congratulations to her mother, Yulia and her father, too. Bella is a tremendous success
cata lina thats wrong , I’m way past 20 and I speak 4 languages and learning 3 ! It’s just a matter of how dedicated you are . When you can teach an old dog new tricks, ofc you can learn new languages when you get older
she's not fluent she will need many years to become adept. Her frame of reference has to grow before she is fluent. She doesn't know enough overall information in even her native language to be fluent.
Shocking how people here - non of them doctors - have diagnosed Bella with autism and what not. Why? Because they cant live with the thought that Bella is simply talented, smart and has a very clever mon? Bella cant stand still? Most children dont - especially when they are excited. Bella doesnt make eye contact? She does when she converses with a single person. Who is she supposed to look in they eye when talking to an audience? For you keyboard-doctors to not know/notice these things tells me that you just wan to push your own narrative for the purpose of self soothing.
My doctor asked me (well more my mom) if I was autistic I just was like 👁 👄 👁 (I’m not autistic lol) I can see why but I was confused because I was thinking “wouldn’t I have been diagnosed by now, I don’t have like.. any symptoms” But, my mom was talking about my creativity and how I was a good kid, and me being a *kid* I was fidgeting and couldn’t sit still (I still am very fidgety though haha)
@@milkncookies4632 if you're a girl, no you wouldn't have been diagnosed by now. a lot of autistic women don't get diagnosed until very late in life (i'm talking up to 40/50 years old)
I love this little girl. Bella is the most incredible human being, I think I have ever seen. How is it possible, that at the tender age of 4, she can speak and read 7 different languages. I am completely blown away by this little girl. I hope to see Bella, go down in history and for her to always be remembered, for this master skill that she possesses. It’s so incredible and absolutely unbelievable. Kudos to you, Bella.
Yes, thank you! It’s not that she’s a “prodigy” it’s just that she was given that teaching that is uncommon. I believe almost any child can achieve these kinds of things. The child isn’t a genius, it’s just that the parents we able to teach her.
Oh Bella, I missed you so much. Haven't searched your videos for a while, and look at you, young lady, growing up so fast..... 😍 I wish you all the best, Bella, I hope that one day, with your capabilities, you could become the one who bring all peace to every country....... Stay adorable, Bella 😘😘
I am sure i learnt japanese as a foreign lanaguage very well and surely recoginzed how to write are pronounce all the japanese words when i was 3-6. But after 30 years without hearing it ,reading it , ans using it , i completely forgot 99% of those.
Yes sure cause language use it or lose it .... my mother language is Arabic I used to stop using English for 2 years it was complicated for me to use it again but I try to keeping listen the English language and speaking to 😁😁😁 .... her German pronunciation was perfect.... for me it's really difficult for her age to speak German bcuz it have a difficult pronunciation and gramma .... I study German too it's really a super talent wish her all the success the happiness and the Good luck 😍😍
She DOSENT know these languages bro these languages take 3-4 years to learn and chinese takes 5 even if she was raised from birth to learn these I highly doubt she picked up ON ALL 7 LANGUAGES AT ONCE
What an incredible and inspiring video! I hope we will be able to do the same :) im Polish, my husband is Dutch but the baby is going to be born in Panama. I also speak French, Italian and some Portuguese/Russian. I truly hope I will have the ability to pass on this passion for languages to my child
Her Arabic is brilliant if you just think of how hard this language is, you could barely hear her accent!! And her german was good too, even though the pronunciation is a bit difficult.... and she still managed to do this so well!! This girl is impressive👍👏
In a childhood we played back the Russian record on the player for fun, and it sounded like Arabic. I watched a video of a professor of linguist who also drew attention to this oddity. In addition, many Arabic words read backwards make sense in Russian. For example, the word "Quran" is inverted the old-Russian word "narok" - which means "set of rules and laws" - some message or testament that the ruler leaves to the people after his life, or an elder or father to his son..
I think we can hear from her pronunciation that she learned Arabic from a native speaker (we see this Arab woman a lot in Bellas older videos and she was her favorite language teacher because they got along so well), but she learned German probably from a non-native language teacher.
I am sorry ,I have been following Bella for two years and I see that Bella might have some behavior problems . I do not suggest you to do so with your future children . I am a mother of 4 , and a teacher , Bella is adorable but her behavior is not mature enough for her age. It looks glamor on television , there are much important things then knowing 8 lenguages at the age of six .
@@nachemsmarya5771 Well, as I am majoring in child behavioral psychology and have nine younger siblings, I am familiar with child training and definitely plan to teach my children respect and maturity as well as foreign languages. I haven't noticed any abnormal or immature behaviors in Bella, but if there are, it probably stems more from the fact that she is an only child who has the constant attention of her mother and teachers. Most six year olds are immature and that is no reason not to give them the gift of language.
@@reginaworthey1401 Actually, she had 7 language teachers from young age who trained with her at least once a week (even 8 if you include her mother which is, if I recall correctly, a language teacher for English). Who can afford this? It is sad that she is an only child. I think it is better not to be famous or "gifted" or whatever but to live in a big happy family with siblings.
The greatest respect to her mum, she is encouraging and supporting her daughter learn what she enjoys learning. That is was I call excellent parenting.
@@alfredohumberto2222 why SHOULD they? Do you speak 26 languages? Its their life and they can learn as many languages as they would like 😐 move along child
That’s wonderful! How do you keep up practicing the languages? Any strategy? I speak four languages but unfortunately three languages I don’t speak often (I do read though) and it’s affected my languages in a negative way… I don’t have anyone to speak/practice with so it is hard. 😔
What i like most about her learning journey is that her mother really integrated teaching with playing which i lately learned is the best state for a person to receive information and retain it
Is Bella Devyatkina brilliant or her mother brilliant? Both are brilliant!!! May I ask where is her father? This is definitely a brilliant lecture on child language development. Thank you for sharing Yulia Devyatkina and LingvaFest'.

I speak 3 languages, while her Chinese has some accent, it’s completely normal as it is one of the hardest language (intonation wise) to learn. She also speaks Arabic, another hard language to master, which makes it even more impressive considering her age..
This Girl knows 8 languages since she was 4 years old. The most incredible thing I got chocked by is that she also knows how to read in those idioms, mainly in Mandarin which is so hard. Bella is superpower full!! She came from Krypton to earth.
Admire the parents. Education is the key, bravo. Bella is amazing, but once again it's a proof that there is no genius, but proper education adapted for a certain kid and patience of teachers (parents in this case)
I work with bilingual and multilingual children, not everybody are like this, we are not talking about 2 3 languages, we are talking about 8,most of the Kids would react badly to 8 languages, some children are gifted
I speak 7 languages fluently and it all comes at a price. cue: I'm neurodiverse. I was born like this, and so was she. in Russia many mothers become obsessed about honing their child's genius. I am not sure Bella's Mum is doing her a favour though. a balanced life and development are crucial at this age.
@@tal00leh there is no 'but'. genius and giftedness often come along, it's called 'double exceptional'. autism in girls is completely different than your probable male stereotype of it.
@@somayab3380 adhd is often comorbid, especially in girls. did you know that autism in girls has different symptoms? she's hyperverbal, she's rockinG, she's parroting, she's not making a lot of eye contact. ofc she's gifted, she's such a lovely girl. but she shouldn't be showcased like a puppy and her neurodiverse brain is no merit of her mum. it happens in nature, many autistic girls have high verbal IQ. a diagnosis is nothing to fear if you accept yourself. it's worse to go through life undiagnosed, without knowing why you are like this, and at some point break down when you realise that languages and 'genius' are all what is left of your identity, and that it is simply not enough to guarantee plain sailing in life.
This is amazing. I want my children to be like this! At least she made one mistake which I noticed, that was in German: she said zwei Dingen instead of zwei Dinge. The German plural forms are extremely hard though.
I am trying to do that with my child but she is turning 3 years old and she isn't fluent in either any of the 3 languages she is exposed to, all the day. I feel like a fail as she can't make full sentences...
The idiom she used for English was also an incorrect interpretation. It doesn't mean someone is weird; it means they're stupid or they're not paying attention.
Her Italian is perfect!! Just like if it was her first language, she’s so good but I’m a little worried if the study of so many languages would be too much to handle😕 She’s just a kid
Her mother said that she doesn't mix up the languages, if they are speaking in English they will use that language all day. On another day it could be French, but the languages are never used together in one topic. Also the child is in school, and will most likely have already completed a 6 or 7th grade reading level in her country's language already, and yet she's only 6. No need to worry, both mom and daughter have the languages all sorted out.
