The research they did into making shows before starting Family Man blew my mind... esp. how they would watch existing acclaimed shows (including one of my favorites, Homeland) and note down the way those stories progressed and scenes played out -- no different from keeping a literature review journal when reading other papers in one's field as a PhD student (I'd know as a PhD student myself lol).
