Raj Ghat is the name of a ghat of Old Delhi (Shahjahanabad), on the banks of river Yamuna. It was here that Mahatma Gandhi was cremated on 31st January, 1948 a day after his martyrdom. A memorial was built here to pay homage to Father of the Nation.
*It remains open on all days of the week.
*Entry is completely free for Indian and foreigners.
HOW TO REACH
The nearest metro station to reach Rajghat is Delhi Gate, from where the distance of Rajghat is about one kilometer. Apart from metro, you can easily reach here by bus, taxi and auto.
