Walked by Raj Bhavan, many a time, during our school walks, mostly on a Saturday Evening, but never went inside. Thank you for your interesting Documentary as I have finally managed to view the inside too. Your Documentary was excellent.
Very detailed and well made documentary on Raj Bhawan. I have personally witnessed the glory of this magnificent structure multiple times and it's truly breath taking!!!
Rudy, just saw this. What a wonderful documentary about the history, as well as the present-day use of of Raj Bhawan! So glad to have viewed this, thank you! The videography is outstanding too. Love it!
Nice documentary. Surprisingly I , the resident of Kumaun , never knew about the grandeur of Raj Bhawan Nainital. Never had a chance to visit the heritage building.
Hi Monu, thank you so much. Your appreciation means a lot! The term used in the film is "turn of the last century" and not "end of the last century". The "turn of the last century" is a phrase whose usage is hotly debated. Here is an example: ask.metafilter.com/259115/Turn-of-the-century-I-mean-last-century-God-early-1900s-okay Strictly speaking perhaps one could call 1999-2000( though there are some that may argue that a century has two 'turns', one at the beginning and one at the end) by that name but in common usage "turn of the last century" almost always refers to 1899-1900. I was aware of the ambiguity but preferred staying with "turn of the last century" because most people are even more confused by the meaning of 19th century so i did not want to use it right at the beginning. Later in the film we give the exact dates as well as referring to the 19th century. Thanks again for your appreciation.
Thank you for your prompt reply, Rudy ! ....apparently , there does seem to be reasoning for still referring to 1800s in this manner :-). I hope you do similar style photography / documentary on other Nainital landmarks .... perhaps the schools. Once again - congratulations on an incredible job ..... probably the best documentary I have ever seen on a subject covering Nainital. Look forward to more !...Thank you & best wishes.
