Rakim is that dude!! We're about the same age! Y'all just don't know how badass these rap dudes were! I still have the vinyls floating around somewhere in my crib! It is always good to see these dudes doing that thing! And putting young people onto them! Keep up the great work my brother! Much love!👍👍
@@iseeu7555 and what was mean about what I said, it's the truth rah would take that as disrespect all of the emcees from rah era would've took that as disrespect for him to be rah same age he should know that
When I was in Barber Scotia College back in 1987 Eric B & Rakim was the only music that was playing all around the campus. You couldn't help but dance to their music back in the day 🌹👏🖤🤎✊
One of my favorite Lyricists in Hip Hop. From New York City . I recall one song 🎵 he made Follow the leader Big Up Rakim keep holding it down brother stay strong Peace ✌️
Proof that hard work pays off and no rapper deserves that like him. although it looks like you're pocket watching my brother, it feels good to see him outchea having things...
I love Rakim's music! 🎶🎧 I grew up listening to his amazing tracks, and it's been an incredible journey. His music is truly outstanding and unique, with lyrics that are simply unmatched. I'm a huge fan of his style and will keep his music on repeat forever! #RakimFan #MusicLover #Legendary
Never been a fan of rap but must respect a legend that started the game and respecting our sisters with lyrics w/o degrading them like today's lyrics respect good brother tilt my hat 🤝🏾
Had the opportunity to see the GOD at Foxwoods last year. Man! The whole show was bananas. True hip hop royalty. Roxanne Shante, EPMD, Slick Rick and closing it out was Rakim. The GOD murdered it too. Brought me back to the days of my youth and nostalgia .🔥🔥🔥🔥
I didn’t know that was snoop favorite rapper. Interesting cause it’s also Kurupts favorite rapper who is part of if the Dog pound. I was introduced to Kurupt years ago and we bust it up talking about how Rakim was our favorite rapper.
You Can't have Top Five or Top 10 without Rakim Period top five he's in top 3 top 10 he's top 4 Period u just can't call it no other way period. He is the Emeritus for these young ones fo getta bout it 💪🏿
BRO..HE DIDNT KICK HIS MOTHERS SPEAKER IN...AT A PARTY, THE OLDER CATS WOULDNT LET HIM ROCK ON THE MIC " THEY SAID THAT IM TO SMALL......COOL..I DONT GET UPSET, I KICK A HOLE IN THE SPEAKER, PULLED THE PLUG THEN I JET!!!!
@@chrisdwyer1791I’m thinking he knows that story ..but he was actually inspired to kick his mom speaker. Shit he probably would’ve kicked any speaker because of Rakim.🤷🏾
I haven’t even watched the video yet. If you don’t know this brotha you don’t know 💩! “ I was a fiend before I became a teen.” LEGEND in the game no doubt
He is the number one rapper of all times Then comes Chuck D Then comes k r s one Then comes X-Clan Something like that how can I say one is best when they're all And yes The great DMX and yes THE DOC ( Ruthless records )
To the white person that is telling this story, his name is pronounced RAAH-KIM not rock him. If you are going to make money off of our names, at least have the decency to put some respect on it and pronounce it right..
I definitely agree that RAKIM, KRS ONE, BIG DADDY KANE, KOOL G RAP, and SLICK RICK were the top emcees when they first came out. But they were not known to the general public in the EARLY 80s, they did not become famous for the general public until the LATE 80s. RAKIM'S first album "Paid In Full" came out in 1987. KRS ONE'S first album "Criminal Minded" came out in 1987. BIG DADDY KANE'S first album "Long Live The Kane" came out in 1988. KOOL G RAP'S first album "Road To Riches" came out in 1989. And SLICK RICK'S first album "The Great Adventures Of Slick Rick" came out in 1988.
Growing up in the 80s in Los Angeles, my favorite rappers were LL, KRS, Rakim, Chuck D, and Kane. I've since added Pac, Nas, Black Thought, Jay, and the gone too soon, BIG.
Paid in full and make em clap to this 86. This was the break down of the RAPPER AND DJ COLABO. LIKE JAZZY JEEF AND THE FRESH PRICE. HE DESERVES A PIONEER AWARD.
Rakim will be very upset about this video, (just like when Nas put out his provate business on wax). I met Rakim on a couple of occasions, through an mutual friend, and he is an extremely private individual. He would definitely NOT co-sign this!😮🙄😲
For real, he super private & there was some mistakes in this video as well….those pictures had to be before Rakim bought that house because he would not allow someone to come in walk through & take photos, just not his style.
A mansion can be defined by the value of the home or the zip code of the home, if it is in prime territory than its value is high. Anything over 1mill. Is considered "a mansion".
That Home is worth a bit more than just a Million, trust me. And Rakim is an Icon, just wish his body of work was consistant and much larger than it is.
I was a fiend, before I became a teen I melted microphones ,instead of cones that ice cream. Music orientated so when hip-hop was originated Fitted like pieces of puzzle complicated. -RAKIM microphone 🎙 Feind
I use to see him in the hood, alone, not afraid . Always loved.. you thought I was a donut and you tried to glaze me lyrics. God bless him and his family.
That aging aint no joke on black people or black artists, Janet Jackson, Jayne Kennedy, Sade, Tevin Campbell, Eric B and Rakim have aged so old , they were so gorgeous young youthful and black when all these artist started, the industry don't lie, you have to do everything while you still got your youth.
I was a kid when I first heard them blacking on a boom box in NYC one of my top lyricist of all time thank you for honing them their flowers that are your favorite rapper’s favorite rappers all the Greats know Please do BIG DADDY KANE if you Haven’t when rappers actually Wrote their own rhymes 🫶🏽
