The best racing game that aged incredibly well. If MS releases another entry, I’m sure the cars won’t feel the same. I just need a remaster or compatibility.
Man, I loved this game! Played the crap out of it on Xbox back in the day! The feel of the game was perfect, easy enough for hardcore halo/Zelda fan to pick up and play for hours. Now watching your review resonated with me on many levels. I’m about your age give or take a year and had a massive retro video game collection, mostly Nintendo and Xbox stuff. But I didn’t play any of it, just enjoyed looking at it usually. But adulthood, or should I say fatherhood came into my life and I sold 90% of the collection. Your review was great, I’m just gonna have to live vicariously through your RU-vid channel of the good old days. Subscribed.

@@plannedobsolescence6486 I totally agree with Lunchboxattack and I can relate. I have a collection of consoles and games as well, but I just don't have time to play as much, it's why I resonated with your comments in the video about adulthood or not being able to choose a game to play.
One of my favorite games of all time. Criminally overlooked. Could play this all day, just climbing mountains in the rain and watching car flips around with beautiful crash physics.
Played the heck out of this game growing up. My whole family was super into it and we all got REALLY good at it. I came back and played it a few months ago and was blown away by some of the track records we set all those years ago. Very, very fond memories were made playing this.
I USED TO LOVE THIS GAME! This brings brack so many memories, as a kid in sweden I never understood the english so my dad showed me how to compete with my own ghost. And I would race myself on a specific track over and over until I reached my goal-time wich I remember was like under 2min. Man i miss those days!
This game was definitely underrated. I played it when it was released back in the day. The graphics were top notch, tons of courses at interesting locations, great music. I had so much fun on xbox live. There was never a huge player base, but the same group of guys would jump on and everyone knew each other. Back then, everyone had a microphone and we would all chat and have a laugh. Very good times!
This game got the EGM magazine’s “Best Game Nobody Played” the year it came out. I was shocked. It’s the game that got me into Rally game and made me venture out into racing games in general. My favorite racing game of all time.
You have a really great review style. I’m big into playing classic games that have been forgotten. Somehow it gives me more excitement and satisfaction than new games. Gonna pick this title up at my local used game store. Also, subscribed 😎
LOL. I never expected to be emotionally affected by a racing game review! 😂 I lost my dad when I was in my teens, and we used to game a lot together. So that story really resonated with me.

I STILL PLAY THIS GEM FROM TIME TO TIME (every time i go skiing on the mountains for example I dust off my og xbox) ... I am 33 yrs old now and i feel the pain of not desiring to play videogames anymore ... sounds stupid to say, bbut i feel you emotion bro!
4:00 yeah, this really hits home. I have but a small collection of gamecube and xbox games, but find myself in the same situation again and again. So. Little. Time. I will probably never play any big immersive games ever again. And you know, I'm actually completely fine with that. That's why the main focus of my humble collection of about 40 games is arcade/pickup-and-play/multiplayer games. A few rounds of Mario Kart will do just fine :)
What's the odds on this being xbox series x backwards compatible??? I still love this game, just fun to play, 2020 still going strong, worried my original xbox may die!!
Nice review. I played the multiplayer portion of this game recently. I am not good at this game at all lol. It’s a tough game. I just can’t control the car well.
i'd love for them to put this on steam, sad and wonderful story at the end. It was the only game I ever convinced my dad to play with me, so Rallysport Challenge 2 has a special place in my heart.
Thanks for the review - this is still the best rally game I played and I have played almost all of them. For the time, the visuals and physics of RSC2 were matched only by Forza. Shame it is so obscure, imho its the best game besides BFBC2 that Dice made. Also if You are into racing games - I would love to hear You talk about PGR4.
This and PGR2 are imo the best racing games on the original Xbox (Forza 1 is also great but not as great). I still have my OG Xbox at my parents house and whenever I play these games I have a blast. As you said the feeling is so good when you drive, unmatched by most modern games honestly. These types of games aren't really made anymore, it's either pure sim or pure arcade, the closest you would get is the Forza Horizon series but it never clicked for me. I think a modern Rallisport Challenge 3 would be pretty popular if done right, and I would obviously love to see it but for some reason I guess it won't happen.
I also really loved this and the first one. They were so fun. Nowadays I play Dirt 4 and Dirt Rally 2.0 on Xbox One. It is sad, DICE stopped making Racing Games.
Rallisport Challenge was abit average but this 2nd version was superb. Unfortunately my disc was second hand and had an error, I couldn't complete it. Just thought about it yesterday and ordered another copy. I am looking forward to another blast on this, better than the Colin McRae games on Xbox and although I highly rate Dirt 3, this beats the later Dirt games that came out.
I'll always be left wondering why this series and also Crimson Skies were just abandoned by Microsoft. They have a ton of studios now, they're struggling to put out first party games. Sooo, c'mon Xbox put on your thinking caps here.
fia wrc is pretty damn good for a psp game as well, somewhat similar. think i will pick this up good review. absolutely difficult when The real shit hits you to start and finish games. Have so many unplayed and find it virtually impossible to play online these days. I need something to test my original xbox disc drive and this is cheap but not boring.
