And yet Citroën failed to capitalise on it (ie, no equivalent road cars) the same way as it failed to capitalise on the success of the Xsara, and Peugeot on the success of the 206. Who, in his/her right mind, lusts after a Xsara/C4 VTS instead of a Subaru Impreza WRX (not even STI)?
TBH, I preferred it when the Monte was based on Monaco and the stages were on roads surrounding the Principality, not roads ~100 miles away. Kinda misses the point of being called the Monte Carlo Rally, might as well have renamed it as a mainland Rally France...
+Michael 64 I was just thinking about how the IRC did the Monte Carlo much better than the WRC....including the night time turini stage....didn't hurt that they had so much snow for the IRC years.
