In the search to solve the#5.7 #hemi #stalling and #dying while #stopping problem, a common remedy seems to be simply cleaning the throttle body.
My #2011 #Ram #1500 has been having the problem for about a year, as well as #hard #starting in the #cold
In the video, I will be removing the #throttlebody and giving it a #clean as well as doing the #relearn #reset function

4y since you posted this, and after changing the plugs coil packs fuel pump, and cleaning the throttle body. Your video, specifically the reset, and my 5.7 is finally acting right. Thank you.

Worked great. Followed his instructions Used the CRC Throttle Body and Air -Intake. Great, check engine light is off!!!!

my truck is a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 with 5.7 liter hemi. It has 172 k.

Just wanted to say thanks. I was trying to figure out what was going on with my truck and everyone keeps talking about an IAC valve, which a 2011 does not have. I cleaned it and now my truck runs great with no stalling.

I HAVE A 2014 RAM 1500, the throttle body light is on and it get stuck in park.

We need updates. Did it fix your stalling problem? I think if your Idle Air Control Valve is not working then in some cars it is built into the throttle body, this way you need to replace the whole throttle body. It is like that in my 2004 Acura MDX. But my buick has AIC valve separate, so I just replaced the valve. I prefer it to be separate.

My Buick lesabre had a slow start and sometimes I needed to press gas so it wouldn't die, for years. All that untill I suddenly started to die while idling. I replaced my Idle Air Control Valve and hopefully that will do the trick.

What’s the update? Mine doesn’t look dirty really but I have all the same issues I’m going to take mine off and clean it anyway but man it hates to come to a stop without dying at random times.

Dayum, been having this issue for awhile, just put truck in shop, they called and said same thing,removed, cleaned throttle body, reset.

Did this work for you? Mine Even last week went into a limp mode because of it, some kind of sensor or something is definitely going wrong and it's only ever happened now when it's 10 or lower out.

I have a 2005 4.7 with the same issues. I have replaced the EGR Valve, MAP Sensor, IAC Valve, cleaned the Throttle Body and Fuel Injectors. Still experiencing issues. Now about to replace the Camshaft and Throttle Body Sensor. Any other ideas?

If the intake is not tighted right to the throttle body and there is a air scape you are going to keep having the same issue

Good video but your last "cold start" wasn't that cold. Your coolant temp gauge was at the first tick. Outside temp was -5. You need to be running 5 to 10 min to get to the first tick so I'd call that a warm start

Check ur pins on the connector and try resetting again u may have a failing throttle body

I have the same problem with my dieing out of no where it's the key fob from all the keys and key rings if you take the valley key that unlocks the doors out and just use the fob to start the truck it won't do it anymore hope it helps

Did this work for you? I have a 2003 that's starting to idle rough in these frigid temperatures here in Michigan and there's so many people with so many opinions.

@@bricknshit Actually, it's still running rough. I may have to reset the fuel pump again🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ bcuz the mechanic previously didn't set it properly 🤦🏽‍♀️. I'll let you know what I come up with.

@@QuietStormC as crazy as this sounds mine seriously look like some bad fuel I had in my tank. For some reason that electronic throttle body must look at that as well because I put premium in at a different gas station and it cleared up and I have not had the issue in about a month now. Again that may not be the issue for everybody but like I said I have not had the issue since.

How are you averaging 19.7 mpg? I have a 2010, things should be the same but I only average 13.7 mpg. Is that average from highway miles?

Fr I can drive on the hwy and my average is 17mpg in city it’s like 12 mpg and I have a 2012

I'm watching this video for my 2010, and im going to go off a whim here and say yes, it's the same 4th gen just a year newer. Just as long as yours is the hemi too, it could be the same for the non-hemi v8, but I can't be so sure.

Could be the cable that connects to your throttle body. Make sure the inside of the connector isn't rusty or dirty

@@JGxWentworth13 dude I'm serious about a light modifiers it was my brother's me passing out like I says piece of s*** 2004 Dodge Ram truck with the Hemi in it just one thing after another. Dumped so much money in this truck in the past few months I can't even go buy parts for my other truck to drive it to work I don't even have a way to work anymore do you like I'm serious about a light stay on fire with me inside of it

Why take it off , u can do this while it's still on your truck ,just put a rag on one side at a time ,and clean with the fluid on the rag, and wipe ,and use the tooth brush for fine cleaning , I've done it this way ,this way u don't have to worry about all the unwanted steps ,it's a little harder to do, but it's worth it to just do it with it on, trust me

So much easier to take off and clean. And no risk off cleaner and junk ending up in your engine. It’s only four 8mm bolts to remove for Christ sake.

I have a 2004 hemi and the Bolt Light just came on the dash. I think this is the same fix but it says Do Not Clean on the bottom of the throttle house doesn't it? I cant imagine why they don't want them cleaned, maybe they don't want the sensor soaking in a parts cleaner for some reason...any thoughts?

Computer slowly calibrates idle position over time as parts of the "trims and tabs" data.. slowly over time it makes adjustments for carbon and residue that builds up on the butterfly and barrel. When you clean it off the pcm has no idea this happens and the extra air flow created can cause erratic behavior for some time until the computer re-learns the new adjustments... I've also understood there's a teflon coating around the barrel that can be compromised...

@@MIXMASTERBJB1 yes, but it has to be recalibrated either way. So a soft brush on the barrel with a teflon spray touch up could be the answer, I doubt that area gets much buildup anyway, because of the teflon.
