In this video I show you how to change the color of your headliner map/accent light on the ram 1500 and other similar Dodge & Chrysler vehicles, all for under 20$!!!!!
Another option is painting the exterior of the light with modelers tamiya red clear acrylic paint. It's commonly used with LEDs. Thanks for the mod idea.
I think the only lights that arn't LED are inside the sun visors, but i would love to go back through and get all the lights to match because some arn't the same hue and some flicker at times.
I would say its highly likely if you were to use a white one, colors come at the cost of lumens, but the red one used in this video was putting off the same as the factory bulb. White would definitely have been brighter.
I did this mod and the light only comes on when I turn the switch on to turn all interior light on it dosnt stay on all time like normal Amy suggestions
Man I really don't know off the top of my head and it is a hard part to reference online but I do know I went in to the dealer and asked what a replacement cost. I Wana say it was under 20$ that's why I said "screw it I'll take the risk in drilling my factory one." Dealerships will know the precise part # for sure.
@@Rep361Texas I've called two different dealerships and both parts departments can't find this bulb. Mine is flickering and I saw your hack, but I just want the original bulb. Do you or one of your subscribers have the part number. Hell, using my VIN, they said I didn't have a light up there. That's what I'm dealing with. PLEASE
You can use up resin no mess drys in seconds with us light. Bought the us light jewel maker just to get the stuff. Light and resin. Can order Separate lol
I feel like this job could have been done easier. I would have removed the whole panel (the black part and the grey part around it). They come off as a whole piece. Once you unplug everything, you can take it anywhere and do your work.
@@davidsilver2047 Sorry I didn't have a better answer, but that is dumb, it almost sounds like a distraction. Hope you find a solution to be able to keep it.
@@menlomenlo851 when I get a chance I will check it out. Just seems weird that it only works sometimes. At first I thought it had to do with a sensor or something.
@@Rep361Texas thanks for the direction. I’ll give them a call and get a price on that little led light that shines down onto the center area. Won’t surprise me if they say some shit like $50 though haha.
Would liked to have seen you installing it without the panel you removed for easy access. I enjoyed the video, but some of the camera movement was too quick and while you were talking talking microphone was fading and then loud then fading etc. thanks
Appreciate the solid honest feedback! It was definitely not the optimal conditions for a how to hopefully the ones coming will improve, I know im definitely trying to give better descriptions and have better angles for the video.
@@Rep361Texas Thanks man I was to busy watching your details here. So you dissected the 194 to get to just the LED itself! Any precautions doing that or easy DIY's? Did you make a vlog on the floorwell bulbs too?
@@I-can-do-IT. No problem! With that specific bulb it is very simple, but yes it is a dissect and install deal, watch the video as needed to help form a plan as you do it, the floor well lights are a simple plug in bulb that you can buy. HOPE THIS HELPS!!! !Feel free to ask away as needed!! Best of luck with your build!!
@@I-can-do-IT. im having trouble grabbing the actual link but on Amazon you search Led Tops 194 color change, first result will be two bulbs with remote!!!
Its similar but not the same, I tried both ways first, one had an off red tint and both killed the brightness of the bulb thats why swapping it for a colored led with more lumens is worth it to me.
