I saw a sleeper cab from the 90s on a ford. The back extended out like that and then it was all one piece and it had doors on both sides. 3k. I wanted that thing so bad.
Pretty cool idea, but is the sleeper DOT legal? I think it needs a second exit and either the center section of the bench removed or the passenger seat.
um. not everyone pulls a camper. lots of car haulers and hotshot drivers buying these for cross country trips. these meet DOT requirements for rest. You can drive non stop taking turns sleeping.
Looks nice, but can get away from weight and loads size restrictions for hotshots! Half the price to get into trucking compared to full-size semi, but only 1/3 of the loads available on load boards are for hotshots...that’s what sucks!
okay, let's say I want to haul, OTR, I'd be looking for a 5500/4500 extended, studio sleeper. at least 120" & maybe building two trucks. two 30 gallon tanks, no tool box, no chrome, color matched trucks
I have a Fleet of Matched Ram 4500's range from 2014 to 2018. All are Crew cab with Sleepers. And Two custom made 60 Gallon Saddle tanks for Fuel. All 14 trucks are on a Dedicated Contract I have had since 1990. My Senior most driver has been with me since 1988, and Junior driver been with me since 2005. And a long list of Drivers wanting to sign on.
Do your buyers know if they haul a dual tandem axel they’re required to have a CDL A? Just saw a news report DOT stopping these guys and they all claimed they didn’t know.
That mattress is $34.50 and that's being generous. The ply wood is particle board and there is no headache bar for protection. Why and how would someone sleep in that while it's moving going to "California" or where ever with no protection for ease of mind, crappy mattress and cheap materials. What's even bolting that thing down to the frame?..Bolts from steal frame to particle board?
I figured it was aimed at the hot shot gooseneck market, is there enough money in rv delivery to buy a sixty thousand dollar truck? I looked into it and got scared off, low pay and if any damage occurs on the ride you are responsible.
A bear bones 5500 C&C 2wd truck + seat covers $35,000 - $40,000; the cheapest bear bones sleeper conversation lets be nice $3,500 ; A $500 5th wheel hitch ; $600 toolbox/fuel tank and $1000 for the diamond plate over the open frame and the wheel covers.. So how is this a $61,000 truck??? The shop that done the work must have out of this world labor cost!!
I have a hard time believing your 4500-5500 price at 35-40 I gonna say more like 45-50k suddenly there price isnt to bad when you get the facts straight
What if you’re a solo driver? You can only drive 10 hours then you have to rest 10 hours. Not everyone is a team driver! You wouldn’t be able to run it straight!
61 grand.....are you out of your mind. so lemme get this straight your gonna charge someone 61 grand for a 5th wheel that puuuuuuuuuulls a home and your going to put a childs bed mattres in the front.. fire your design engineer imediatelly
I've been driving ford and GM all my life, for a hot shot truck I'd jump right into that cummins, I6 is the best layout for a diesel, it's too bad marketing and public perception lead to V8 engines most of the time.
