Ram Dass - Here and Now - Ep. 116 - A Deeper Space: beherenownetwork.com/ram-dass...
================
On this episode of Here and Now, Ram Dass explores a deeper space within where our greatest attachments lie and he touches on some of the most crucial aspects of the spiritual path.
Show Notes
Why So Serious? (Opening) - Ram Dass reflects on the ever changing nature of our thoughts and perceptions. He calls for a sense of humor and objectivity through these changes, instead of clinging to momentary states of being.
“There is a need for a certain humor about your own predicament. If you take the room you are in, meaning the psychological room, too seriously it makes it more difficult to escape, but its walls are made of your thoughts. A person whose heart is closed, a moment later, could have their heart opened by seeing a little bird fly by. Somebody whose heart is wide open could suddenly have it turned icy cold when they see an expression on someone else’s face. You must realize by now how momentary all of our states are and how little there is to cling to them and hold on to.”
A Deeper Space (20:00) - There are many neurotic behaviors and pathologies that have an origin that is much deeper than a psychological source. Ram Dass talks about the deepest issues that are connected to the process of spiritual awakening.
Mindful Parenting (27:20) - How do we approach clinging in our family life? Ram Dass discusses the role of attachment in the parent child relationship.
“My understanding of the way in which a child grows is that you create the garden in which the flower grows, you don’t grow the flower. You can’t grow it, you can merely fertilize the earth and keep it soft and moist. You create a space with your consciousness that determines whether that neurotic pattern gets deeper into that child or whether it is seen as something that can be cast off because that it isn’t who he is.”
What We Take In (36:35) - We reflect on the ways in which what we eat affects our spiritual practice and the need to be flexible with our diets as we progress spiritually.
“It is best not to have a model of what is holy because it is going to have to be knocked apart anyway. Listen to your own heart about what you need, don’t let anybody else create guilt in you.”
Falling Away (42:00) - Ram Dass shares his thoughts on the significance of dreams and talks and interacting on other planes of consciousness.

I like the introduction. To those who don’t like it, there’s Ram Dass only lectures. This is a podcast run by the person you are dissing. He is kind enough to put together great selections and share his journey. I enjoy his unique voice. I don’t think Ram Dass would like you dismissing this person. Everything is the guru. You don’t think this person reads your comments? “I honor your existence” and I’m glad for the introduction. Thank you friend.

This is not true. I’ve personally listened to every Ram Dass lecture & talk there is here on RU-vid, and only in these podcast episodes can you here the rest of them. They could just release all of the unheard Ram Dass talks and lectures, but they want to keep them for money. And I mean, that’s totally up to them but for me, who wants to listen to more Ram Dass, I HAVE TO go to this podcast, and hear Ragu Marcus talk a bunch. I could take that as a work on myself like: why am I soooo attached to Ram Dass but can’t stand to listen to 1 minute of Ragu Marcus. And that is a better argument. Just to be clear hear.

@@alexiarohdin879They have recently been copywright reporting other channels. They are trying to limit ram das word so they can financially prosper off his thoughts while others were giving it away for free.

This comment is to peacefully protest the gatekeeping of RD’s lectures. Common complaints as elucidated from the community on the Ram Dass subreddit are as follows. Removal of content, privatizing/licensing out content, copyright striking others who post content without replacing what was removed or providing another means to access the content. Restriction of what is released, cutting and editing pieces of full lectures and not releasing the full lectures themselves. Putting a paywall in place that provides access to still limited content. Access to content is overall severely limited compared to just a year or two ago.

It's all good man, you could skip his intro to the lecture if you wanted to, though sometimes hearing another beings' perspective on the matter is always nice :)

I think its around episode 30 where Ram Dass talks about if they don't pertain to you just accept their space/realm of existance and that it doesn't help you and you have no business with them just move past them. He has his reason and probably helps others understand from where they are at.

Why get so hung up on time.. & complain about the introduction. These folks put these videos/talks together for free.. Out of love. Instead of complaining.. Why don't you help out maybe, by making a little donation..? Namaste.
