There are many methods to get us to the conscious state, and every consecrated act draws us closer to God. Cultivating 'the witness' is one of many methods that we can incorporate into our daily lives to deepen our awareness. All actions create more karma, but when we learn to shift on the astral plane we begin to see what karma we have burned off and what we are still creating. Through realization our actions become that of God's will, and we move into harmony with the universe. - (2/3/1970 - SF,CA)

"All evil vanishes from the universe for him who keeps the sun in his heart." (27:48) Thank you, Ram Dass, for this 4th chakra mantra in English. English mantras are more powerful for me since English is my natural language. I "think" in English, so I'm also able to visualize the pure brilliant sun within my heart, beaming outward to the universe -- as I chant or recite the mantra. And I took TM in the 80's, so I've used Hindi mantras for many years. But I seem to feel the intention and power of mantras in my own language because I don't' have to take time to translate & visualize the meaning. Without that middle step, I go straight to feeling the purpose of the mantra. I guess it's more like an affirmation that I can visualize. Anyway, love you Ram Dass - you warmed my heart chakra!

it’s Michael Lorimer on guitar. Ram Dass references him in Part 4 of this talk.

I believe the song in question is Chaconne in d minor by J.S.Bach for those looking to either learn or find an original recording.

in the previous part of the lecture when he mentioned that Bach was high the chaconne immediately started playing in my mind, and here when I was waiting for the music to kick in; sure enough, it was the Chaconne!

That guitar is surely live. Would love to know who played it. Great job.

That guitar reminds me of psychedelic Yngwie Malmsteen's Black Star intro

it's a guitar rendition of a Bach piece for piano or violin, I forgot which one but I know it's Bach :) and Malmsteen plays a lot of classical influenced music so yea it's quite similar :)

Makes absolute sense. The masters always build off the backs of the previous masters Thanks for sharing that!

I'm 99% sure that the guitar player is Andres Segovia (1893-1987), maybe the most famous classical guitarist from Spain. He has an unmistakable sound. The Bach piece is the chaconne from the 2nd violin partita (BWV 1004). Enjoy! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zcGt9AFlIPY.html And there are many videos on youtube where you can see Segovia performing, which are wonderful to watch -- he is a master artist.
