This is a very profound exploration of the differences between Bhakti devotional practice and Buddhism. In the end, it is all the same. Namo guru. Hail to the guru! Ram Dass knew this- he knew from Trungpa Rinpoche that the heart of Buddha’s teaching is that we all have the Buddha nature within us, in our hearts. We miss you Ram

I recently spent 2 nights in a monastery outside Melbourne who follow the Therevadan tradition of Ajahn Chah. I wanted to leave the entire time I was there because I found it tedious and challenging.. however, several months later, I notice the experience keeps coming up in my mind, this itch to go back there and spend more time with the monks. What I came to realise was that it’s my mind that created the tediousness, the monastery itself is just a beautiful temple on the edge of a forest. Love Ram, Joseph and Jack a lot, I recently finished The Wise Heart and found a lot of value in Jack’s stories. Namaste everyone, go gently x

Ram Dass was a form of exquisite storytelling. He reflects his experience so poetically into words. The more you experience higher levels of liberation, the more this is clear and for me I can feel the energy of each experience he describes in his talks bc how well he conveys it and how it relates to the teaching behind the story.

This comment is to peacefully protest the gatekeeping of RD’s lectures. Common complaints as clarified by the community on the Ram Dass subreddit are as follows. Removal of content, privatizing/licensing out content, copyright striking others who post content without replacing what was removed or providing another means to access the content. Restriction of what is released, cutting and editing pieces of full lectures and not releasing the full lectures themselves. Putting a paywall in place that provides access to still limited content. Access to content is overall severely limited compared to just a year or two ago.

So I see you’ve completely abandoned posting actual full lectures and have opted to just cut up random comments with no context

I was surprised to see your comment. I guess because I'm getting ready to listen for the 3rd time. It was really relatable, right on as a matter of fact of what's been going on in my thoughts lately. TIMING on when you listen has much to do with your reactions to them. ❤

Then, go and enjoy the world's pleasure and pain until it gets boring. This will become like water to a thirsty man. Your heart will yearn for it. Namaste. 🙏❤️
