Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) is an Indian film director, screenwriter and producer, who has made films predominantly in Telugu and Hindi languages and in addition Kannada as well. He is regarded as one of the pioneers of new age India cinema. He is known to direct and present pan-Indian works by casting actors from across the country. He made his debut with Siva (1989) and went on to create some cult films like Kshana Kshanam (1991)Sarkar (2005) etc., of Indian Political Trilogy, Satya (1998) etc., of Indian Gangster Trilogy, Rakta Charitra (2010) and more. He won several accolades including National Award for Best Feature Film Hindi - Shool (1999), Filmfare Critics Choice Best Movie - Satya (1998) etc., and many of his films were screened at film festivals across the world.
