The new Ram Lalla idol was consecrated at the newly constructed temple here on Monday amid grand celebrations in the town, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi participating in the rituals. The prime minister walked inside the temple premises with a silver 'chattar' (umbrella) placed on a red folded dupatta.

It is a moment of great joy to all Hindus. I don’t know if all the rituals were performed for the installation of the deity prior to the PM’s pooja. It was strange that he was asked to do do the prathishtana pooja when there were so many Swamijis of various Mathas present. They perform daily pooja to Lord Rama in their Mathas.They would have been the right people to it

I wouldn’t thank PVNR. It was under his watch, the Places of Worship Act was brought in, which basically says that Hindus cannot claim as ours, other mosques/church which were built subsequent to demolishing a temple which was originally standing. This is unfair to Hindus. So, I will not thank PVNR. I can maybe thank him for saving india from bankruptcy.
