Rams gadget should be taking longer to destroy castle barricades. It just doesn’t make sense that it goes straight through it just like a regular barricade.
I think castle barricades are fine. Like if you want to waste 1 of 3 drones on one barrier go for it. However the Aruni Gates should destroy it. No matter if it's mechanical or bullet proof just because its a high powered laser that takes out any other bullet proof gadget throw through it.
The reason why Barbed wire doesn't destroy the Boogie is because of the saw blades in front of it. That's what's hitting the barbed wire first. I do think making it so that the bugi is slowed down to a crawl in the barbed wire is fine but making barbed wire a hard counter is a bit far fetched
I think a good middle ground would be that it takes about 2 or so seconds to get through barbe wire it punishes you for throwing into barbed wire but not a complete hard counter
The drone also have rotating saw blades underneath it. The reason why it destroy surfaces like soft floors. Let's not also forget that operators in the game basically melee barbed wires which is certainly not something you would do in real-life.
Ya slowing it down is more realistic and appropriate. If you've ever tried to cut springy wire similar to barbed wire with a saw it's kind of difficult because when the blade hits the wire it moves and is difficult for the blades to bite into the metal.
I think it's bad for game health as legit you would have to include not just the BU-GI but also defender/attacker gadgets with that change to normalize it. What I do think needs to happen is Aruni gates and Electricity countering it. Aruni already destroys bulletproof gadgets like Fenrir's mines so it does not make sense having it not counter this gadget. Electricity also does the same thing with Ash's mechanical gadget so why not this.
This gadget needs more counters and not only would making barbed wire a counter make a lot of sense, it would also encourage more defenders to bring it over alternative secondaries which will help in combating the current rush/tdm meta. It would be interesting to see barbed wire counter more gadgets, maybe it could trap flores drones too due to their unusual and large wheels?
I'd love to see the Kapkan interaction changed just so the gadget has a counter and because it makes sense. And why would Clash get stunned by this thing running into the shield? I think instead of stunning her it should either just stop in front of the shield as if it's was an indestructible wall or at most it should push her back slowly.
this might be intense for the game engine, but maybe if windowed castles can stop the bugi, then the bugi can cut tiny chunks out of castled doors, basically reworking castle that way
For barbed wire to counter ram, it wouldn’t make sense for it to not then counter all drones, although having a health system for drones in barbed wire and fire would be interesting to see
That would be awesome in my opinion. But unlikely unfortunately. For balancing reasons that would be great if the ram's drone and barbed wire destroyed each other.
I think the electric barbwire should counter ram since Ash's mechanical gadget also gets destroyed among other mechanical gadgets in the game. Same with Aruni Gates.
Why would it counter all drones? The drones you use for recon have a closed shell and wheels, ram has open tracks and rotating wheels inside of it, its way more believable that barbed wire could get tangled up in that

In this case, Ram's saw blades actually would defeat the barbed wire since that's what's hitting the barbed wire. Maybe slow the Bugi down but defeat the Boogie? Nah
It was my favorite part of the game! I haven't touched this game since mozzie and gridlock were released. I'm now trying to get back into it but man so much has changed.
Ram is direct result of what i can only imagine to be zero internal testing. -This thing is a mini tank, picking it up and stowing it in your 'infinite bag of holding' within 2 seconds isn't feasible, they should really consider making the pick up time for this somewhere closer to 4 or 5 seconds so when you throw it down you really have to mean it and think about it. -Aruni's gate shreds everything else, why doesn't it shred this? -Barb wire shouldn't destroy it but it should stop it dead in it tracks, so it remains motionless but still makes noise. Also destroying the bard wire it runs into to "simulate" the wire getting wrapped in the treads. -Kapkan traps should trigger and be mutually assured destruction of both the trap and the BU-GI. -This thing probably weighs about as much as a 5 year old, so why doesn't it trigger frost traps and get snapped in them? -Why can this thing destroy the International Space Station with how high it reaches? Lower the destruction threshold so if you make a hole in a soft wall you have to prone through it. This would solve so many issues. IE. the castle window thing. -You already mentioned it, but they should enter this gadget into the Gymnastic Olympics with the crazy balance and ability to sit on ledges that it has. Debris (still client side in 2023 btw) has physics and falls off table and other objects, why doesn't this? -This thing makes wider births than when my mom had my sister. They can probably tighten the left and right destruction a tad bit. I'm not saying do all of these things, just examples to make this gadget more engaging for both the player and the opponent. Add some thinking back into the throw gadget/gadget go BRRRRR two brain cell mindset.
I feel like RAM's gadget is very strong and does need a viable counter. I think that Kapkan test was completely ridiculous. It's not like RAM's gadget is pulling on a 'physical' tripwire; its passing through a laser tripwire... If anything Kapkan's trap should trigger exploding the thing, or not trigger at all. Having RAM to think twice before mindlessly chucking it.
I think it should take 5 seconds to destroy castle barricades. I would also love it if they made fire destroy all enemy drones, that might not do much for goyo, but it could be a nice little niche for tachanka, who definitely needs a lot of love.
Here's how i would balance it to be more reasonable. - Keep it at 3 - Make barbed wire slow it down - Make it take longer to destroy castle barricades - Make it so aruni's gadget does 50% damage to it with each one it passes through or temporarily disables it. - Have kapkan's and goyo's gadgets destroy it with one explosion, in return have it take two impact grenades to destroy it. - Make it so nothing gets destroyed unless the blades are visually touching it.
Ubi just wants to start burning some defender utility. Defence has jager and wamai to stop fraga, while attack doesn’t have anything to stop a full team of defenders throwing C4 at them. Let this be super OP so that defence is forced to exhaust some C4.. siege is already defence favoured.
Op is fine, I guess, but some of those just don't make sense. The hitbox of this drone is obsessively huge that makes it funny. And the Goyo canister is a explosion, literally don't make sense the drone just ignore. Castle and Aruni I'm fine, but maybe it should take 1 or 2 seconds to destroy a shield/castle, but a I guess it wouldn't really matter. The fact that Azami can also destroy it doesn't make sense at all.
It's not like Ram invented vertical play, with Buck/Fuze/Sledge/Ash already fully capable of really got very play l, Azami always had a reason, just always situational
What im seeing here is that ram doesnt really have counters. Sure you can blow it up but then theres still a hole in the roof and vertical play is done regardless. Not to mention that youd need to have 4 impacts/nitro cells to properly counter it. Then it does explosive damage to destroy gadgets which is ridiculous, especially in some situations where it doesnt really make sense like castle barricades or knocking clashs shield. Then there is the r4-c with a 1.5, a secondary shotgun and hard breach basically means theres no point in buck existing anymore.
I actually perfer her to have 4 drones. I do like the hard breach removal though because it doesn't really take away from bucks versatility now. However both buck and sledge have a position different then ram and at times can be better than her so I think 4 is quite fair it gives her alot of drones to play around with and tactics to bring to the table, if anything g I would just perfer they gave ten more skeleton key shots to buck or more hammer swings to sledge. Remember the defenders are very powerful right now so I think ram having four drones would be fair
Castle barricades should have more complex destruction physics, this idea has been floating around for years and for some reason the geniuses at Ubisoft never got around to it.
Ubisoft has completely abandoned the idea of space. With reinforcements we kinda just accepted that it's pulled out of thin air but now this brand new operator is also pulling the gadget out of her ass.
This thing is nuts and neess to be nerfed before launch, how does it destroying gadgets it doesn't even hit? And I think a combustion engine would be starved of oxygen in a fire. 3:26 Man that's absolutely ridiculous it destroys it, it literally didn't even touch the barricade lmao. Barbed wire should at least slow it down a good bit. I think barbed wire should get a buff all around, maybe 3 or 4 melees or you have to melee the middle where the reel is. So do these things drive for an unlimited amount of time until they hit a solid wall or object?
Azami could also potentially throw her barriers at the ceiling to plug a hole made by Ram. Not sure how useful this will be given how much floor ram can destroy.
In WW1 tanks had a very important role that was going over barbedwire. However the destroction rolers could get jammed had there not being saw blades to cut the wire.
It should take time to break the castle barricade, and only make a punch hole if thrown threw a normal barricade, they should reduce the hurt box size of the drone so it doesn't hang on ledges, maybe just where the wheels end in a square if you get what I mean, it should still have the same hitbox just reduce the damage to the size of a hard breach secondary, it just looks so goofy the size doesn't match the drone.
Castle in siege - Every new operator counters him easily. Be nice if they actually made it so sledge takes two hits for a castle barricade. Ram doesnt go through it, or they make it so ram only cuts the bottom half of the barricade. Rams gadget has such a big AOE that its ridiculous it hits objects above it without being able touch it at all. Barbwire i feel if its destroyed by a ram, lowers its speed. Deployable shields and maybe castle barricades have a saw to metal sound and it takes about 2-3 seconds to get through them. I dont think Ram should be able to throw her gadget. It looks pretty heavy yet Flores has to place his? Wouldnt it make sense you can throw a flores drone but not a heavy box with chainsaws? Electric operators should short and destroy a ram. Kaid can be a good counter, bandit and even clash for a buff. The area a ram should cut into a wall should be the size of a crouch hole and the same width if not another 30 cm out. Shooting the Ram from the front should cause it to slow down over time. Dumping a mag into it will make it go minimal speed.
The hitbox of this thing is just ridiculous, probably it will change. Every other gadget get countered by electricity, don't make sense at all this being an exception. And Flore's drone can't be activated separately, unlike ram's. Still don't make sense at all because both move without being controlled, but I guess Ubi will never change it.

Would be nice if he got a buff where you could place a drone and then decide to activate it there so it drives straight or activate it and control the direction etc seems they can clearly do it with Ram. Ill be honest, i cans see people playing ram getting banned for Griefing/TK. All you need to do now is literally stand next to it, place gadgets and youll get -points. Then all they do is report you for griefing and banned. Its such an unbalanced op for both playing as and using. Imagine how many gadgets people place on the floor and 1 ram can literally take them out and the only defence you have is an impact or getting behind it. Imagine someone about to fuze from above and then they Ram it. Ultimate troll gadget. Finka is going to get Ram operators banned for excessive team damage. Watch it.

The levels of bullshit that they let the drone get away with is just stupid. Have it break on an Aruni gate, have it get destroyed on shocked wire or deployable sheilds if thrown into it (i can give it a pass if its drove into it or you could have it sacrifice itself to break the shocked deployable or wire) and make the AOE smaller so it can hit anything placed highter then crouch hight but breaks anything from halfway to and fully prone
There is no real counter to be honest. RAM has best gun and hard breacher. The only shortage is 1 speed but it's not bad in gunfight and vertical gun fight. Although she is one speed she doesn't too worried c4 cause her drone can open floor safely. The drone is lazer proof(front versus ARUNI Maestro) electronic shock proof(versus shock wire and shield) bullet proof and mute jammer can't effect. That out of balance at all. Break window instantly and destroy traps like EDD and Gumine in a super range. It will be fun to play RAM but it will be pretty sick to counter RAM.
I think aruni gates should destroy a bu-gi whether thrown at or running into it, there's nothing that can go through one without being destoryed or damaged in the case of ops and with as much else as ram has going for her, her gadget should not be the first exception.
incredibly broken. so much stuff just doesn’t add up or just makes no sense at all. electrified barbed wire should be hard counter (interesting change to how bandit and kaid are played, electrifying barbed is pretty much useless atm) kapkan could be a good hard counter as well. ram will be most efficient in her off/above site use, so barbed wire isnt as feasible there, kapkan however much more. barbed wire and castle should at least slow it down and obviously it should fall off of the windows ledges like wtf even is that.
That barbed wire change would turn ram from a fun useful op to throwing if you pick her. Why the fuck would i want so many counters for an attacker when defense ops need a fucking counter pick to properly play against? Thats like saing miras glass should be countered by any explosion because glass wouldnt be able to handle that, which would also make mira a shit tier op. Fun > Realism is how it should be everytime.
What if the her drone just made a hole in the castle instead of fully braking it also the the holes this drone makes are too wide imo like shouldn’t they be the width of the drone

If we're talking about the greatest swat team in the world I think that a high tech drone will have no problem with barbwire since even the worst swat team in America has the ability to deal with barb wire no problem so I don't think barbwire should be an issue at all.
everyone thinks everything should counter her at this point, if we do all these things whats the point of ram existing at all. sledge takes out barbed wire. why shouldnt ram, same with castles and azamis. shes basically just a loud sledge i dont get what everyones so upset about tbh
IRL tanks and other tracked vehicles are a counter to barbed wire. Also the Bugi gadget reminds me of a mine clearing vehicle, which very much would not care at all about barbed wire.
IRL if you run over barbed wire with any tracked vehicle you're going to have a bad time. It will get sucked into to the sprocket and either swing a massive clump of razors everywhere or throw the track off the sprocket and immobilize the vehicle

@@shig.bitz.3205 it was only for closing gaps like trench's. Standard equipment on tanks is wire cutters so that the crew or nearby infantryman can come and clear the wire out of the way when possible. It is not smart to drive over any sort of Barbed wire or Concertina Wire.
Tanks can go through barbed wire if it’s sparse but even though better to not risk it at all and if it’s a large field of it you’ll just fuck up the tank a lot
okay so for the "wow thats not even NEAR that gadget" bullshit you need to check the hurtbox. based on observations on wall and floor destruction, to be able to cover as much area as it does they've probably just slapped a big old box on this thing that does damage. i GENUINELY would not be surprised if they just surrounded this motherfucker in a cube with the code for sledge's hammer. hypothetically, if they haven't added any new code to differentiate between gadgets, you're just getting this massive "fuck you" cube crawling through the map so none of the gadgets can actually reach the hitbox on the ram itself. what they might need to do is actually complicate the code a bit more and have two different hurtboxes (one for the map and one for gadgets) or manually write out the interactions.
I think it’s stupid castle isn’t a counter to this gadget what is the damn point of castle then. Also the drone basically fits under the aruni gate it shouldn’t turn it off
I have not played in years! And I miss playing this :( I still hate that my favorite operator castle does not have more barriers or can’t be destroyed as much
