Rama vs. The Assassin Scene - The Raid 2 (2014) 

Dude thinks he's a bad ass when Rama is on his 50th fight of the day.

Every time I watch this fight scene, it's like watching a movie, within the main movie. The moment Rama walks into the kitchen, and the Assassin is just casually waiting for him knowing he would get there and they would face off. They both knew what was to happen. No words needed to be spoken. An instant classic.

Two videogame trophes in these scenes: 1. In the boss duo fight, one of the bosses get angrier and more aggressive when the other boss is killed. 2. In the other fight, once the boss health bar is in half, he becomes more dangerous by drawing out a weapon.

My man batted the bat man, hammered the hammer girl, and well... eh... The assassin was just assed out.

This fight scene is without question one of the best in the history of film.

Many have commented on how influential The Bourne Identity and John Wick were when they came out, for several years other filmmakers "copied" a similar style for their action films, but The Raid films often go unaddressed. This is "peak".

This fight scene is 10 years old and still unmatched.

Literally one of the best fight scenes i have seen in a movie ever.

Damn, at the end his posture and body language don't say "victory". He looks frustrated, and sad. You can see him nod his head right after the the stab as if he's acknowledging something. To me, it looks like he's saying "I'm sorry you chose this, I'm sorry I had to do this.". It's a rare thing to see a fighter, ever rarer to find another master of the same discipline. He's acknowledging the loss of a rare specimen, and the legacy that fighter could've left, now it's all over the floor, and all over his hands. Would a martial artist be able to forgive themselves for not being able to "save" one of their own? It's not a victory, not at all.

RAID 2....Still waiting for RAID 3 !!! Amazing fights....

The assassin could block, counter attacks, and even push Rama And at this scene he with his eyes and a mocking smile say "you failed all the head and body attacks, why you don't try with the legs?" Rama instantly looked down to his legs and try a low kick or a sweep just to get checked. Lips can lie multiple times, but eyes rarely does. That's why professional fighters always look at the eyes of their opponent And also their feet to try to predict in which direction they'll go. And yet this is very difficult because feints And yes, maybe you're a fight sports fan asking yourself this, "what about feints and fake strikes that then shows the real attack, for example a cross headkick??? Faking a punch and then quickly throw a kick to the head?" That's the thing, fighters that know this can use this trick if their opponent is focusing too much in trying to read their direction Example: Leon Edwards vs Kamaru Usman 2

All fight scenes in Raid 1 + 2 are pieces of Art. It's just next level.

Great figthing scene. They thought bringing on the weapons would give them advantages over bare hand Rama. But they were all killed by their own weapons, for Rama's weapon is the ability to learn quickly about his enemies.

Dude this is the iconic "Raid stance" 3:18 and it looks so awesome, how both of them respect each other and allow to get into the pre-fighting position. awesome movie

My God,if one didnt know who the protagonist was you would swear this fight could go either way, thats just how good it was. Literally the best fight scene i have ever seen. And that's saying alot cuz we've had amazing hand to hand battles over the years.

Great movie! It reminds me of one of Jackie Chan's movies were he would use wide shots to film so you could see as much of the fighting as possible in a single scene. The control of everyone's kicks and punches are insane!

Great scene but the plot armor at 7:55 is so blatant and painful if your the type to focus on things like that😂 pretty much made the toughest enemy make the dumbest combat decision. Why even write or choreograph such a move if they wont make it substantial by having the protagonist take some big damage or the complete opposite by having him think fast and immediately counter or defend😮😮😮 “nah, we’ll just have the bad do a dumb head slam👌🏼” Again, i love the movie but sometimes there are just bad moments in fights that force the plot and outcome. Don’t hate me too much for attention to detail🤷🏻‍♂️

The fight scenes in raid 1and 2 are better than those in all Hollywood movies

At 3:50 they saw that they were evenly matched with the hands so lil dude nodded down at his feet basically being like let’s see if your hands are as good😂.

The moan from the Hammer Girl is a tell, tell sign she messed with the wrong man !

Whoever choreographed this is awesome! How Rama made it look like he could telegraph the Assassin’s next move even when turned away from him heightened the suspense. I was thinking, “Oh man, Assassin’s coming in with the right and Rama’s not looking! Rama’s gonna take some damage,” then Rama gets an arm up and gets credit for the no look block! I thought he was toast like 4-5 times.

Goddamn! What a landmark film, it literally changed action movies from that point on. Everyone who worked of both Raid films are legends.

They need to make the dude who plays the assassin a good guy for once. He is in all these movies with the best fight scene but always losing cause he’s the bad guy 😂

I'm 57 and done martial arts most of my life and watching these guys have set a new hight of technical choreography that seriously is in a league of its own. Nothing comes close. Nothing.

The bat boy and hammer girl were pretty fucking sick with their sticks I fucking love it when they post up and are like “Ight, ima hit you with this stance” and other dude is like “don’t mind if I do”

Is like Hollywood don’t know that this type of choreography art exist… so they jus shake the cam, make a thousand cuts and so they only hire old washed up actors

I like how this movie had "unrealistic" scenes in a "realistiic settings", like how in the first fight the person mainly attacking properly is hammer girl because she has more versatile weapons while baseball bat man has to be careful since he has... A baseball bat, he's able to do more towards the end because his sister is out of the equation so he has more room to swing

That seems like a game go from level to level to reach the end you have to defeat one by one
