Thank you. Thank you and bless you for everything you’ve done putting all of this together and making it available to us. I have listened to hours of these already and I plan on listening to hours more. The words of Ramana seem to bolster the mind’s ability to turn inward for some time. When I find myself again unable to focus, I listen to more and am rejuvenated. Thank you.
Love your Videos!! ThankYou for your dedication to Guru>>or>>the Gurus teachings>>or>> that which the teachings come from>>or>> that which our own consciousness comes from... Thanks for bringing to my awareness of the teachings of Nisagargadatta! I am planning on listening to Him in conjunction with the "Process Philosophy" of Alfred North-whitehead .. As a way of "filling in the field of Experience/meaning that leads up to the experience of non-Duality?????
Even Nisargadatta Maharaj didn't know what Ramana was talking about with this localization of consciousness at some point in the body. Apparently Ramana had some obscure ayurveda book that went into it.
@Brett Collier its still a localization, but sure it feels like that. It's likely this sense of localization in the heart is related to the initial i-i state and not the complete dissolution into Niguna Brahman, which is liberation. It might even be particular to Ramana's method. "Therefore, leaving the corpse-like body as an actual corpse and remaining without even uttering the word ‘I’ by mouth, if one now keenly enquires, ‘What is it that rises as ‘I’? then in the Heart a certain soundless sphurana, ‘I-I’, will shine forth of its own accord. It is an awareness that is single and undivided, the thoughts which are many and divided having disappeared. If one remains still without leaving it, even the sphurana - having completely annihilated the sense of the individuality, the form of the ego, ‘I am the body’ - will itself in the end subside, just like the flame that catches the camphor. This alone is said to be liberation by great ones and scriptures" Any localization or sensation is just a sensation, obviously you are not located there. Probably why it made no sense to Nisargadatta Maharaj
@Brett Collier are you referring to Nisargadatta's distinctions of awareness and consciousness? I wasn't intending to make such a distinction. Probably a better distinction is the traditional Saguna Brahman and Niguna Brahman.. which Nisargadatta would have meant. I spent some years with Ramesh Balsekar who was his direct disciple and he used the term consciousness.. only distinction being there is consciousness in action and consciousness at rest.. So i wouldn't get hung up on concepts, especially if you don't understand their origin
On Awakening from sleep or dream I have felt the ego self arise from the heart center. It felt like it was from the same location as Ramana says. I would not have known to look for it without hearing from him.
Everything needs to be understood with the context in which they were mentioned if mind is confused about such statements. This context understanding happens on its own via inner guru/ Self within.
imp 1:07:00 to the end. enquiry...if not then devotion...if not pranayama...if not ..Karma Dhyana comes only step by step b weakening of innate tendencies (vasanas)
Can you name one person who gained enlightenment through "Self Enquiry?" Even Maharshi did not gain enlightenment through self-enquiry. He does actually tell us the secret to enlightenment but everyone's so caught up in this "Self Enquiry" nonsense that they don't notice. Self Enquiry is a complete waste of time.
Self- inquiry leads you to the realization that your true nature is eternal and perfect. All that one needs to do is remove all the conditioning that obscures our true Self.
