@@Flandre-Scarlet yeah that's very true. I mean the way the ai reconstruction of ai audio works is by it referencing pre-existing audio. Which for ramattra is only talking and shouting. So his singing often comes out a bit weird.
kudos not just for putting this together but to the voice actor for putting SO MUCH emotion into each line that is can still come through when it has been cut up and made into a song! Ramattra is easily one of my favorite characters cause the voice is so damn cool
voice actor is fucking amazing, he also does Aatrox in league of legends, should give his lines a listen too. He does the "tormented warrior that just wants it all to stop" so well.
Honestly this seems like a glimpse of the resolution of Ramattras character arc. A shame we’ll never see any development of these characters ever again
@@cptcarrot5455 I mean, maybe, but doubtful. With Overwatch 2 plunging hard I don’t think they’re going to put much more funding into the game, especially the PVE after they release what they managed to work on. Though I saw there was an animated series, so that’s probably where we’d see any real story beats will take place. Seems like that will be the only hope for real character development, since it’s just pure story aside from everything going on via game development. We’ll see how that goes, I hope it’s good
I'd like to imagine at 3:15 Rammattra is singing, pummeling, and fighting tooth and nail to settle his score against overwatch, and actually come out on top. Achieving his long time goal, and that omnics lived a fulfilling life. Wiping out all that opposed against him, Talon continues growing the organization, Reaper kills off the remaining members of overwatch, leaving the world in disarray.
I don't think Ramatrra necessarily wants overwatch or anything like that gone/dead. I think he mostly wants Omnics to be treated fairly and is taking an aggressive stance to get it.
The song is kind of fitting to his character. He tried peace, and it did not work (his regrets) but his way of genocide works for him. I can just see him on the big stage drenched in blood and just being proud and happy, that he is doing the right thing.
He just singing in an old ruined king's row tavern crowded the UN, first generation of crusaders's and civilian corpses as a barsman omnic is his only spectator
Imagine he sings this during a season finale, fulfilling his promise to set fire to the world for his fellow omnics, we watch Winston walk amongst the chaos while Rammattra sits in a destroyed coliseum, playing piano in the spotlight of the moon. I think that would make him look more like a psychopath though.
Lyrics : And now, the end is near And so I face the final curtain My friend, I'll say it clear I'll state my case, of which I'm certain I've lived a life that's full I traveled each and every highway And more, much more than this, I did it my way Regrets, I've had a few But then again, too few to mention I did what I had to do And saw it through without exemption I planned each charted course Each careful step along the byway And more, much more than this, I did it my way Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew When I bit off more than I could chew But through it all, when there was doubt I ate it up and spit it out I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way I've loved, I've laughed and cried I've had my fill, my share of losing And now, as tears subside I find it all so amusing To think I did all that And may I say, not in a shy way Oh, no, oh, no, not me, I did it my way For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself, then he has naught To say the things he truly feels And not the words of one who kneels The record shows I took the blows And did it my way Yes, it was my way
"a cool character stuck in a shitty game" has gotta be the realest sentence i've ever heard. i wish ramattra was in any other game because he's just too damn cool to be relegated to one of the worst games of our time
you know.... this song was played at my grandfathers funeral. Allthough i did not like him too much because of his behaviour i still somewhat loved him as my grandfather. He and ramattra were actually very similar in a way, both hurt, both in pain, the actions of both marked by their past. Damaged, hurt, and a product of his times, but still a protector nevertheless.
This makes me imagine an Overwatch campaign where Ramattra does everything he can to help his fellow omnics. Even though some of the choices he made are morally questionable, we still tend to sympathize with him over the course of the story. When the credits finally roll and Ramattra is finally defeated, we still can’t help but feel sorry for him. And then we hear this song during the credits. He did everything for his fellow omnics, his way, even though Zenyatta tried to guide him toward a better path. 😭
How has only 10k of 218k pressed the like button on this. The voice slightly changing on certain parts actually helped it, it makes it seem like his tone is slightly changing and his voice the cracking in more emotional parts.

That moment when everyone is still spawning, game is on overtime, and the ram has an ult, desperately trying to make it to the point before the last second
