Sita wonders if Rama carrying weapons in the forest is right. Rama tells and the sages that He came to the forest by His own wish and not due to Dasharatha's boons to Kaikeyi. Rama says He carries weapons to protect the sages and that is His main purpose.
Many sages are present in Dandakarya perform difficult penance. They visit Rama and ask Him to protect them from demons.
Rama visits all the ashrams of sages killing many demons continuously for 10 years.
