Thank you for this series. Much needed to enlighten Hindus. First of all God is an Abrahamic concept. God and Allah are equivalent. The term God does not occur in any of Santana Dharma scriptures. It has weaselled its way into Hindus vocabulary (English and Regional languages) and adopted due to Anglicisation. Englishmen who studied Sanskrit and translated the scriptures referred to Devas as Gods. The English translation of the Rig Veda by Ralph Griffith in 1889 translates Hymn 1 (first few lines) of the Rig Veda as follows: I Laud Agni, the chosen Priest, God, minister of sacrifice, The hotar, lavishest of wealth. 2 Worthy is Agni to be praised by living as by ancient seers. He shall bring hitherward the Gods. अग्निमीळे पुरोहितं यज्ञस्य देवं रत्वीजम | होतारं रत्नधातमम || अग्निः पूर्वेभिर्र्षिभिरीड्यो नूतनैरुत | स देवानेह वक्षति || The term God got adopted by English speaking Hindus and the adoption spread profusely. It is rather sad that it is being used in English discourses on Hinduism by men of cloth. Swami Chinmayananda referred to God and so does many of the books of Chinmaya Mission. The Mission is a proponent of Advaita, in which Brahman is a singular entity that comprises of everything known and unknown. Aham Brahmasmi. I am Brahman. This notion of Brahman is consistent with the Big Bang Scientific Theory of the formation of the Universe. We are all connected. Dushyant referred to Devtas. Whether Devtas are different forms of Brahman like his example of water 💦 is immaterial. Sanatanis believe in Devtas - Devas and Devis. Devtas are like Spirits with attributes. Agni, Vayu, Jal are spirits that have both beneficial and destructive powers. Devas and Devis are also omnipotent beings who took a human form on Mother Earth - Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu and their consorts - Saraswati, Parvati/Kali and Lakshmi. Durga is an independent Devi who has the Powers of Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu. Devas are referred to as Bhagwan. Like Bhagwan Ram, Bhagwan Shree Krishna who are Avatars of Vishnu Deva.
I values such sessions the most!! Sree Iyer ,thank you so much to bring vedic truth along with other regular news. Both are needed for us to be aware, evolve and live with our ethics and roots intact in today's world.

From what I understand from this session and BhagwadGita, there is one parbrahma tattva that runs the entire universe. That tattva's roopas are Mahadev, Narayana and Brahma. We all are the sanatani ansh (entities) of the parbrahma tattva and eventually, Narayana's sanatani ansh.
Interesting discussions. Here is a different take on the same subject based on the 36 Tattvas (creative principles) in Tantra. God (Parasavith or Para Brahman) created 5 Eswara Tattvas to design, create and manage the creations. These are the Eswaras who are different from God that is nondual. Eswaras created the universe using 7 "purusha" Tattvas and 24 "prakrithi" Tattvas. Eswaras are not the God. Eswaras are the founding managers of the universe and they are created beings. Just like scientists have mathematical equations to sum up universal theories, Santana Dharma has abstract equations in the form of Mantras (sound equations) and Eswaras/Dieties as form equations. People confuse with God and Eswaras.
Sanatana- Hinduism, believe in one truth also. Called 1 God / Energy/ conciseness express in various forms and thus for Abrahamic peoples it appears Polytheistic but Sanatanis ( Hindus) believe in One “ Onkara “ 🕉️ Explained so beautifully and simply by Shridhar ji is just amazing and thus clearing many misconceptions ❤🙏🪔🥰🇮🇳
I am a Muslim and a critical thinker and knowledge seeker. I always believe the Vedas that was given centuries ago such as Rig Veda and Surutis are much to think on towards understanding the God, infact, God is one and had created everything in this universe. My question is why would God need to take various form when He is the absolute power and can solve humans problem in any way He wants? What is the necessity to lower His status by taking various forms? Probably you can post a video on this point. Thanks
Param Brahma is GOD. GOD is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, ever glorious, blissful, the supreme power, supreme and pure consciousness, supreme WILL the root of all creation who at will take many forms with varying attributes. Yeksm sath viprah bahudaa vadanthi.
One Question: we do many prayers hoping God would lessen burden or pain. In Mahabharata, Lord Krishna showed his divine Vishwaroopam to Arjuna. One would hope on witnessing Vishwaroopam, life would change. Unfortunately, Arjuna came to battle very next days only to Kill Beeshma or Dronacharya and to cry like a baby. I would have hoped Lord Krishna’s Gita would have enlightened Arjuna that this Body is merely a cloth to Soul and yet Arjuna was crying after killing. So, can one say tomorrow if God appears before us nothing will change and we will feel same pain or cry next day?
Absolutely wrong! There is only one God in Santan Dharma, what you have writen is said by Saad Guru who has zero vedic knowledge. God is called Bhagaban in Sanskrit, which means all powerful one who has six opulences like no other. If you have doubt, read Vedic scriptures, don't listen to someone who publicly claims he does not read scriptures

By the way whats is point in saying we are seekers of truth, but we already believe there is no single truth, still we are aeeking for the heck of it! This is absolutely crazy !
In Sanatana Dharma God is one but forms are many. Like cows are many milk is one. Our Vedas say that there is God. Truth seekers must have belief in this first
Abrahamic faith followers invaded India from 8th century onwards Abrahamic faith has one book , one god concept When they landed in india they saw people praying to a varied lot of gods and godesses across india This was a shock to them as they have one god one book and in india multiple male and female gods and multiple books so they said in their language that we are a polytheists . While we looked at one prabrahma in multiple forms which was beyond their scope of understanding as their concept is one god one book Over centuries because of english education we also started to think and beleived that we have multiple gods With education and social media many are realising the truth and the flase narrative is being erased
In my experience if you water the roots well ie pray DHYAN to Parabrahman or Sat chitananda or istadeva the need to offer prayers to devi devatas individually is unnecessary
Haaaa? 🤔 God appears as per people’s moods? I think he meant people depicted/pictured the entity of God in the way they needed at different points in time. God probably is not even concerned in which way we picture/portray them (all inclusive, believers and nonbelievers, all belong to same divine ultimately if such a divinity exists), God will ultimately do what God needs to do, in whichever way they see fit, to make things right and to continue the processes of “cosmos”. One example we can find is during the instance of Shiva’s marriage to Parvati, when her father asks about Shiva’s lineage/origin and that’s when Narada muni plays his tamburi in one note and says that that is Shiva’s lineage, as in when there was no other physical/material creation nothing existed, and slowly when sound came into existence that’s where you can find the origin of Shiva [as in when there was nothing, from where did sound come? If You find the origin of sound and you find the origin of Shiva there. (from nothing to something, and from there everything came into existence)]. (Because it is we humans who need this faith in divinity to be carried forward in future generations, for that we need to jnstill that faith in kids from a very young age, and it becomes difficult to explain things to kids without actually having something visual and physically existing thing to make them understand, that’s where the concept of idol worship came into culture I think, coz if we go to temples or even at home, while praying we usually “close our eyes and join our hands and pray in our hearts and minds and souls, it’s an intrinsic thing to pray”, even when we are standing in front of the idol of the diety, we are still praying to the eternal paramatman, it is just our way to rever and offer our devotion to the divine when we offer things like flowers, water, milk, naivedya etc. to God, it’s a way we figured out for us to connect with divine, on a larger scale in temples etc when they offer prasada and distribute to people on larger scale there it take slightly different meaning, but still the intent is same.
Sir, It is .y understanding that the conclusion of our Rishis is as follows. Just as in bigbang theory, this Brahmanda of ours is evolving from Singularity and at some point in future it will devolve into Singularity . May be it is one Kalpam. It is obvious that it is an unending process, and that there is intelligence or organising capacity for this universe. That is why they called it " Satyam, Gnanam,Anantham. For convenience they termed it as Vishnum/ that which is everywhere. Recent name being used is Brahman. Every thing in this universe is nothing utterly its derivatives. Deitification and pujas etc are degraded versions of the original postulates. Human existence on this planet is only 1÷20,000 th of lifetime of living Earth and is insignificant. The advigiven to humans " Know this truth and spend your time on earth in an unattached way, going through the motions just like any other passionate person. The book " The Ethics" by Benedict Spinoza is marvellous treatise on our Upanishads.
Shri Aiyar ji Pranayama. My name is Arvind Tiwari I live in Bay Area in city El Sobrante I want to see you when you are back from India regarding investment as per your advice.Thanks
Each bhagwan can have multiple names and forms as you elaborated and as commonly conceived as well like dashavatar, ashtalaxmi ,12 jyothirilngas etc but how can this concept be extrapolated into different dieties For instance Ramayan has lord Rama, Sita Mata ,Hanuman( shivji 's ansh)all are considered dieties ,is it like only god assuming multiple physical personalities too a a time?!.
Pls ask where was God when men were nomads n cave dwellers with no language then.? God came first or human beings brought God into existence? How did God come into place until Language was defined n d name God was only derived aft language was perfected. Wassallam
Who had created the Nomads , Language in your comment ; Had they created themselves ; God is a principle ( by definition it is fundamental, applicable to any and all anytime ) ; God is experiential ; If someone do not have that , the principle can not be rejected ;
@@maniaphobia4719~ I believe in God but not in any God in particular as d ultimate. God is perceived by every mind in their own unique way. @@navaratnamselvaduray2179 We are in an age of genetics ; A bumble bee can be transformed into a Vulture and vice versa ; Nature is so distorted , devastated and almost molested for the societal consumption ; There are research to extend life / replacing Brain ; Whatever the Scientific advances and achievements, the fulfillment in life aspect is missing ; If we can start searching inwards , we can find it namely God ; Anyway it is experiential and not by arguments;
These explanations are fine. But what I want to know why the understanding of gods among common people is totally different. As opposed to what is talked about here, the people believe that gods actually control different aspects of their lives. Brahmans also subscribe to this idea and probably through them it reached the general public. Now why is there disparity in thinking and where is it coming from?
@@jAmadagnya Thank you for your comments, but the points you have raised are not comforting to me. I am fine with simplifying a concept so that common people can understand, but simplifying to the extent that it becomes wrong can not be justified. I am also not convinced that the way gods are understood is benefitting people, or else we would not be having these conversations.
@@jAmadagnya I think we are moving away from the main topic. I am more interested in knowing the way gods are understood by the people and if that interpretation is helping them. If so, then how? I mean what is the connection? If I look at the people they seem to be doing rituals without understanding them, but are convinced of desirable outcomes. At the same time, the whole society is moving backwards.
Too complicated... There is Brahman which differentiates to Parambrahman. The first tatwa of panchmahabhoota is eashwar(god). All mahabhootas manifests in five metamorphic forms.
Dushyanth is confusing visist advaithi...he shud come and accept straight path advaitha...advaitha vedantha tells only God is here ...Maya or changing illusions are super imposed on supreme brahman
*Wrong. We are polytheist. Proud to be Polytheist !* *One "Brahm." Multiple Gods. "Brahm" is not God. "Brahm" can not be worshipped. Brahm has no Qualities of God. Brahm is not a personal deity. And it doesn't care about you, for you yourself is Brahm. Multiple Gods are to be worshpped.*
Ok. God is a person/entity....... Heaven is a place....... and God resides in this place. This is not the what the Vedas and Upanishads espouse. We do not have this Abrahamic concept of God at all. We have the Absolute Reality called Para Brahman..... and the equivalent for this is Not God . In fact no word in English for Para Brahman. Hence Monotheism and Polytheism are not applicable to our Dharma. Dushyant misses the aspect called deities..... We worship deities in this material world as we are driven by outwardly cognizant senses. This is an unavoidable reality. Until we reach a very evolved consciousness State called Para Brahman ...... We create these deities which we believe possess the primordial divine attributes of the Para Brahman in which ever way we want and can relate to and we worship them. So Vishnu, Krishna, Baanke Bihari and Karuppan Samy are the same divinity different deities. Same as Shiiva, Rudra, Kala Bhairava. Same as Durga, Uma, Lakshmi and Kamakshi. SO POLYTHEISM OR MONOTHEISM ARE NOT APPLICABLE TO HINDUISM. WHY???? THE WORD GOD HAS NO HINDU EQUIVALENT. Just ask the mullah or padre to buzz off.
It is Atheist yogis like sadguru who has propagated Sanatan to be Godless. No , it never was , never will be . There is only one Eshvar or God , the rest is just drama or mythology.
There is Paramatma and there is Brahman. I have never come across Parabrahmam. And technically, everything in this world that we perceive, including ourselves are a manifestation or apparent modification of Brahman. Sri Dushyantji explanation of village God in this video is not accurate. There are multiple God's and they exist not out of collective belief of a set of people as has been said here. The concept of Eashwara is not matter of perception, it's a subject of understanding. Hinduism has many Gods but there is only underlying Truth or reality. I would request @pgurus to avoid making such videos since these are matters of great depth that can and must only be learnt with the guidance of a Guru. Lastly, with due respect to Sri Dushyantji, he is follower of a tradition that has a different understanding of Vedanta that a vast majority may not agree with philosophically.
