When I was a kid I had a vision problem my doctor missed it finally progressed so bad thar now 10 years later I realized my vision had something severely wrong so I talked to a new doctor. He said that I'm legally blind in my left eye and that I have zero depth perception. all at the same time I had chronic fatigue and generalized anxiety disorder I began to hate myself so much and became hell-bent on the fact that I'll never understand what other people see walking around everyday. you have inspired me so much by seeing what you've been through and the message you promote. I can never see a time where you should ever find a reason to take what people with no empathy have to say to heart. you are one of the kindest and most inspiring role models in my life maybe someday we will be able to understand what other people see. have a wonderful day boogie
Hey, legally blind buddy, I lost my vision when I was 12 due to glaucoma, I understand what you are going through and I'm sorry. But there are SO MANY resources out there for you. If you live in the US in your state there will be services for the blind that can help you get technology that you need to be successful.
Also, I'm sorry you had a shit doctor. I can relate. I had a surgery when I was six months old to remove bilateral cataracts, and one of the doctors punctured my left pupil leaving it deformed and very tiny. It's still a bitch to this day and has caused me to be bullied throughout my entire life even with other adults. I wish you the best of luck, friend. Sending good vibes.
As a surgeon I can assure you, Boogie isn't taking the easy road with Bariatric surgery. Serious surgeons who perform this kind of surgery have strict criteria to select patients. Boogie fits right in those, he has obesity + health comorbilities. To be elegible for bariatric surgery you need to pass psychiatric and psycological evaluations to make sure thay they can commit to the new diet (you can literally blow your stiches if you binge eat after bariatric surgery). A lot of what you said applies to me man. Im not as large as you, I went in the military it saved my body but destroyed my mind. I am so so empty, I was consumed by hatred when I came home. But my Love, my daughter and my job here on RU-vid saved me. You, saved me and helped me to think differently.

ProtoMario The key to not being empty is convection. U must first become still and face your problems. Then u must make a the hard choice to no longer let it bother u. U must lay that pain down by forgiving yourself and anyone connected to those painful memories. I know it aint easy. We become accustomed to the cold and darkness that that pain brings that we cannot really imagine what it is like to be without it. However once we have made the decision to lay that pain down with all we are those memories no stop holding sway over us. The hate will dissipate, and we will be left with peace and calmness, and if u are lucky even joy. Just continue to think about others and u will be fine. Cultivate the attitude that I am happy when I am making others happy and u will rarely, if ever, become sad again.

Do whatever you feel you need to do to be healthy and happy. Even if you are a "drain" on the healthcare system, your work has brought entertainment, joy, and inspiration to a lot of people. You give, as much as you "take" from society, and therefore no one has the right to pin blame on you for the many problems we have in it. Life is just such a crazy, amazing, stupid, wonderful, terribly awesome things. No matter how much shit an individual goes through, the ability to take the situation and transform into something beautiful still remains. That is something that you've done. Amidst all of the hate, all of the rage, all of the adversity and strife, the tribulations and battles, you have come out on top. It's been an uphill struggle for many years, and it's not over yet, but you have the amazing gift of being able to truly quantify your achievements and accomplishments. To see where you began so many years ago and how you got to where you are now, in spite of all of the bad, you have made so much progress. My life is getting better. I started lifting weights, in hopes to reach a healthier life, partly because of you. I got a job, because i'm more confident in myself. I found myself caring about how i spend my time for a change. I finď myself smiling more. I'm interested in romance again. The thought of me dating a girl used to make me feel so sorry for them, but now i feel like i can be loved This summer i'm going swimming for the first time in years.. Boogie, i wish you the best going forth with this operation. I think a lot more damage is reversible than you think. You just have to set your mind to it, using whatever tools you need to get there. With your motivation my life too is probably the least horrible it ever was.

Boogie, mental illness can do crazy things to us physically. I just recently got diagnosed with PTSD, and which explains my eating habits, social skills and everything else. I do look up to you as you deal with assholes very well, I'm one who hopes you live as long as possible as much as you want to. I wish you luck for your surgery and hopefully, HOPEFULLY happens very soon. As the mental pain is just as painful as physical pain, which no one without a mental disorder understands. That's life.
Life. boogie my life is ok I'm not overweight but i don't eat healthy i got lucky and inherited a good metabolism, iI recently got broke up with because i made mistakes, i see her in the halls of high school and in my government class and it only brings up the heartache I'm far from popular and have few friends but in between those moments of sadness i find as much happiness as i can today I found out that I made it into one of the top chiors in my school and am damn happy about it my closest friend is an ex but we managed to stay friends, latest ex I'm sure hates me but and quite literally broke up with me after her birthday and i spent most all my money on her. I'm only a casual veiwer but I'm subbed and your videos are such an insperation. I'm glad to hear you have some hope man you deserve it with how you entertain, inspire, and have enough strength to shrug off pain like it's a simple dust bunny. You know, I can't for the life of me understand how anyone could not want to treat you with respect and kindness. I haven't watched too many videos of yours but every time I do the genuine loving and caring person that you are despite everything that you've gone through seems to shine through and to me that's extremely impressive. Lesser people might respond in kind to the hate or become bitter themselves, or maybe they would just give up. Not you though, you are pushing through and I am sure that it's extremely inspiring to a great many people. My life, although a bit uneventful is pretty much fine right now. I have some friends and family that are going through rough stuff and my heart hurts for them, but me personally I really can't complain. Getting back to you though, how many people could end a youtube video telling us that you love us and have it actually come across genuine? That's a wonderfully endearing personality that you have and the world needs more people like you in it. Now, about the surgery. I think you have a very sober and scientific view of the whole thing. You express yourself as if you have been able to look at your situation from a distance, calculate the odds and minding the statistics rationally. Boogie do it. my dad was diabetic and overweigh. he got the surgery,(sleeve) and it was the best thing he had ever done for his health. he is super happy and healthy now. 100% support from Venezuela. don't pay attention to the hate. you have to care for yourself. sorry for bad English. love

the problem witht the health care here it's basically no medicine it's super difficult to find any medicine. he did have to bought all the pills from USA and send it here. hospitals here are the worst thing ever so every one pay for everything on clinics

I like you boogie. You are my #1 favorite youtuber, and I can relate to many of the same struggles you have. My LIFE being overweight, being "crazy", paranoia, depression, being bullied and hated, horrible teeth, wake up in pain every morning. Also I'm autistic, with bi-polar tendencies and ptsd symptoms, mentally and physically messed up. But all through it, I try and do the right thing as best I can. Everyday I am playing pc games to cheer myself up. Seeing you speak of opinions that reflect my own, sharing with us stories of your struggles, and how you overcome, or deal with them, helps me feel like I'm not alone. I wanna give you a big hug.
Life. I'm 18 years old and come from a religious family. They aren't very serious about it but they keep it at the back of their throats if anyone were to say they weren't. I have no problems with religion or with them being religious but, my parents specifically, are very hypocritical. Almost to the point where if I were to tell them something I could guess their response. Everyone else follows suite to a milder degree except me. They all act similar and I feel so out of place. They haven't shown any interest in me personally, just me as a family member. I have no sense of family except in my daily thoughts about having a wife and daughter. I've heavily contemplated suicide but those thoughts, the sweet thoughts of having a wife and raising a daughter to be a person, not having a child because it's what you do if you're human with no other form of motivation, have kept me wanting to live on. I know it's nothing like the abuse you've been through, but I think you of all people would understand someone who stepped back out of the line of normality. I wish I could explain more, but to not make an essay out of a RU-vid comment I'll end it there, hope you see this. Life is precious, so don't upset yourself with regrets.
Life for me is difficult right now. My brother committed suicide this year. Because of that my anxiety and depression are way up there. I am having trouble with concentration and memory more than I usually do. My psychogenic aphonia is worse and I'm spending way more money than I should. On top of that, I haven't been able to see my therapist in awhile because my life has been so busy.

Memory being bad in bad times is your body handling the stress. Which is a bad way because it only makes one feel worse. I'm sad to hear this being the case for you (and probably some other people as well). I myself have had life treating me a little.. Well, off. But there's so much to learn from all of it, and eventually you'll grow stronger and more experienced than the next guy that didn't have all of this coming. I'm wishing you well and hoping that you get through this sooner rather than later. One thing I've found that helps is, keep yourself busy with the things that makes you feel good. sinfulldreamer life sometimes goes in a certain way that you don't expect or don't think is even possible. The key is to try to power through it and focus on the positive things around you. I was depressed for 12 years. The only thing that helped was actively trying to get out of that depressive mood state. Waking up everyday and saying today I will not let my day be terrible. I will do what I can to make this a great day. Try picking up a hobby. I see you have a nice camera. Actively visit new places in nature and take photos. Buy a guitar and learn your favorite song. Anything that can keep you busy in a good way. I'm sorry about your brother I can't imagine how hard it is but for yourself you need to make efforts to get better. Spending is from your anxiety and depression. It aids in keeping your mood up. Being less able focus is a cause of that as well. Trust me one day you will look back and be like wow I used to be so upset. It will take time but it is all worth it in the end. Much love and keep your head up.
First off I would like to say I love you ❤️ also I dislike anyone who says you should not be alive. You have made such a huge impact in my life and I hope you live longer than I do because if I have to live through you dying I will be overwhelmed with sadness. Unfortunately I live everyday with depression, anxiety, PTSD, insomnia, and all the other things I have to live with everyday because of my past. Unfortunately I was verbally, physically, and sexually abused starting at 5 years old and on top off all of that my mother wouldn't let me go to traditional school but also she wouldn't let me be homeschooled or tutored at home ether so I never learned anything as far as school until I moved out at the age of 16 when I lied about my age and got my own apartment. That's when I started to try and make my life better and started going to GED classes and trying to learn all I missed from never going to school. I will never give up on learning but sometimes it's really hard since I never got that basic knowledge in the beginning and there is so much to learn and make up for. Anyway I want you to know I know how you feel when you say you don't know what it's like to have a good childhood and how much pain your in every single day. I just want you to know I love you and hope your health stuff goes well and I hope you live to be an old man someday.

A friend of mine had the surgery, I did it with calorie counting. Both ways are really hard, both still take work. Gastric bypass left her stomach sick often but she's in much better health now :) The best of luck to you!
Life has been very different, I just recently got a county job as a Public Health Nurse, completely different than anything else I've done. Not sure how I'm feeling about it, but it's worth waiting it out to see if it's the right fit.

Hey Boogie, I just wanted to comment for the first time on one of your videos. I have been subscribed for many years and I have never really spent the time getting to know you. I just found out about your upbringing, the video where you drew out your life story. It really moved and inspired me. My brother got in some trouble and will be in prison for 6 years, and I got custody of his kids (my nephews.). I am only 27, and lost my job of 6 years... TWO months before all of this happened. Your video really inspired me to spend time in being a father figure for those little guys and raise them properly. Just hearing about how hard your upbringing was and that you didn't do enough activities growing up, etc. It touched home with me because I have Lyme disease and my symptoms cause it to be very hard to do all of the things for my nephews that they want to do. Not only because of my health but because of my financial situation. But anyway I just wanted to let you know that you have really moved me and given me the push I needed recently, and I want to say thank you. You are amazing and an incredibly strong person to have gone through everything you have. I know I don't know you personally, but I am so proud of you. I set up a GoFundMe to be able to afford parts I need to fix my work van so that I can start my old side business back up, but this time as my main business, & also afford to replace the tools that my brother stole out of my van before he went to jail. I am licensed in HVAC, and there is plenty of work for me to do. There are customers that miss me doing their work and service calls for them because they know I am honest. Something apparently quite a few mechanics are not.. But what I noticed is that since I don't have any friends, or any social media.. my go fund me doesn't even get seen by anyone, much less any donations. I would just ignore things like this when they happen. Hackers and trolls and the internet hate machine loves to create a reaction. You ignore them and it really takes the wind out of their sails. Try to fight it and it only throws oil on their flames. By doing this shit these people don't deserve a response.

#life #life 10 years ago I was homeless. Broken, spiritually and mentally,my perspective on life was fucked. I thought everyone and everything was against me. I never thought things would get better, hell I lived inside a vodka bottle. I found myself standing in a bridge wanting to jump, this was six months after my father killed himself. I'm standing there crying wishing I had the balls to do what he did but I couldn't, so I walked back to the homeless shelter and cried. A few months later I met some people who helped me stop drinking, and showed me a better way to live. They taught me to be selfless rather than selfish, and I've been living this way ever since. in the last ten years I've been through a lot, my mother tried to kill herself, I've had my heart broken, and had good friends die, but never once have I had the bleak perspective I once had. My life is amazing and I'm grateful for my past and current pain, there's lessons in it all if I look for it. the last three years I've been suffering from chronic pain that limits a lot of what I can do in life, but my life is still amazing. hard times come but they will pass, look for the lessons in the pain you experience and you'll be able to learn and grow from it. Boogie you are the man and I truly appreciate your rambling series.

I just wanted you to know, and i doubt youll see this but incase you do, that ive been going through a really hard time lately and have been focusing on the wrong 'circle of people' and my depression had gotten out of contol. however you made me realize that i need to focus on the circle of people that love me and it has really inspired me to keep going and has given me a new perspective on life.
You're making the right decisions. I decided to shut everyone out a long time ago and I'm still digging myself out of that hole. Loneliness is one of the worst things an individual can experience. Best wishes :)

Boogie my life is okay. It is a real struggle sometimes. A lot of the time I feel I'm not a part of the world I was born into. I've made mistakes criminally and sometimes it seems like the world does not want anything to do with me. But I have to say a couple things: I have a wonderful girlfriend, the love of my life and my future wife. She's truly amazing. She believes in me in a similar way I think your wife does. She looks at me and sees a really amazing person. It's incredible and so, so wonderful. And I want to say one thing that I always feel with your videos is that I'm just sitting down and having a conversation with a good friend. You definitely come across that way. And I have to say I love it so much. It's wonderful to see someone be so genuine about who they are and what they think. The fact that you are so positive, and strong, and hopeful is amazingly, truly inspiring. I feel like I have a true friend in you. I may never meet you but I think there's only a few like you in every generation and I thank God all the time that people like you exist. I really look forward to an afterlife because I think I'll definitely get to meet you and learn about you and hang out and love some vidya together. And that is so beautiful to me. I've never looked after myself. I eat and drink (and smoke) the worst kind of stuff health-wise and have done for, at least, the last 20 years. Despite this, I've never been really ill or had to use a health service. Seems like a mixture of genetics and situational chance as to whether or not you become unhealthy or ill. I'm not a Reddit user but internet public chat rooms/threads in general are places where all opinions are reinforced eventually. People congregate with like-minded people. Point is, not everyone thinks a persons health is due to the individuals choices and even when it is not everyone judges without empathy. It could so easily be me needing surgery, blind luck that it isn't. Wishing you all the best with the surgery Boogie and stay positive, it suits you well.

After being convinced we would never be able to have children, our daughter is almost 9 months old, and she brings more joy to my heart than I ever thought possible. And yes, we do have that quote framed and hung on the wall above her crib. Good sir, I hope you do get your surgery as soon as you are hoping, and everything goes well, and keep making these videos for years to come.
I had a stepmother who passed a few years that had the surgery you are considering. Just be very careful after you have it please, boogie. You have to take really good care of yourself after having it and most people who get it lack self control.
Both my brother and father have gone through with gastric bypass now; my father as recently as last week. It's a last resort, definitely. Would of course be better if one could do it without having to rely on surgery, however at one point last resorts become necessary, be it because of ones size, or physical or mental condition, or ones age, as in my father's case who's closing in on his 60s. Either way, I wish you the best of luck in getting the surgery! And of course after, as well! We're all here for ya, Boogie! :D Keep up the great work!

Life is stressful for me rn - exams are in full swing, teachers have let us down, my mental and physical health is in tatters - but I watch Boogie and he has a way to give me the courage to keep making positive changes for my physical and mental health; to better my life quality. That quote about focusing on one of the 3 groups of people, I've lived by for a few years now. And my god has it made life better. Life is far too short to spend it all focusing on the bads. Especially when you slow down a bit and look at all the good stuff, the bad stuff just seems so microscopic. I was going through some shit in the past 4 years. A bloodclot in my lung that could have killed me, no job, no real "life", sitting at home browsing the worst kinds of subreddits. My best friend pulled me to the side one day and said "Look, I don't like the kind of person you're becoming. You're browsing all these shitty subreddits, saying just despicable things. I think you should stop, take a look at life, and then, based on what you choose, we'll see if we can still be friends after this." Him saying that hurt more than any physical injury I could ever get. My best friend just said he doesn't want to be friends with me if I keep going like this. So I did what he said. I stopped, took a good long look at what I was doing (for a week I literally didn't talk to anyone save my family who sometimes brought me dinner). I was a downright terrible person. Hell, if it'd kept going, I'd likely be one of those people attacking you Boogie. My god am I glad I changed. From there, its pretty much been uphill almost 100% of the time. I've gotten a job, I've stopped fighting with my family. Hell, I've even mostly stopped arguing with people on the internet. (when it comes to something I'm passionate about, I'll still argue every now and then) Most of it has been because I stopped looking at the negatives of everything. I still do acknowledge problems when they arise, I'm not willingly being blind to problems. But for example, if I don't like a game, I don't play it. Simple. I don't complain about its existence 24/7.

Lol, my life is scary at this point. A lot happening and a lot of people, who is supporting me which scares me a little more, depending on me. In my Tetris game, I have an infinite life mode. :-) And thank you again for the awesome speech. I hope the surgery works out for you and that you come out on the other side, happy and ready for the world. Also, your video reminded me of another video I saw last night. There was a RU-vid called lavendaire and she does a "current me" vs "future me" video. Heya, Boogie! Even though you don't know my name or my face, this video made me realize that you still know I care, along with thousands of others. We really do! 😊 Life hasn't been the greatest for me lately, due to mental illness. But maybe it'll get a little better if I keep making myself go to therapy.
You will get through it, therapy is great if you have good therapist so I wouldn't worry. ^^ I wish I had one aswell but yeah my psychiatrist isn't that great so I am still dealing with it. But dont let that get you down I believe in you.
Boogie you are an amazing human being and inspiration - you are a true gem. You are so strong and very brave. I believe in you. Where you may think you lack physically, you make up mentally. And I know you say that mentally you deal with a lot of issues as well, but to do deal with those, and overcome them, and deal with those as well as your physical disabilities, just proves how head strong you are. You also have an amazing soul and inner spirit. You are definitely right about concentrating on the people that care - your beautiful wife, best friend, and gorgeous dog - are wonderful reasons to wake up each day and smile. Unconditional love, that takes you for who you are and loves you with no strings attached. :-)
