from what my cousin and friends told me, this was one of the most accurate representations for what would happen to a human body when hit with a .50 cal.
A 9mm bullet 124grain-147grain goes average 1300-1600fps, the .50bmg bullet 600-700grain going 2700-3000fps. Things tend to pop like water balloons when projectiles hit at 2700-3000fps.
@@Agrothewarhorse Besides which, the bullets in the .50 Browning are deliberately mis-weighted so that they spin. Essentially they tear through targets rather than penetrating. Like getting shot with a buzz-saw.
Fun fact: The main villain, the general, is a real life freedom fighter from Burma. He did this movie with Sly to show the world what was happening even though he knew it put his family at risk. He's why Sly made the movie
War movies sometimes gloss over the true horrors of combat. You might get a soldier dying in the arms of a comrade or someone stepping on a land mine (though they avoid a too gruesome depiction), but Rambo 4 doesn't flinch at all - war is violent and terrifying, everything happens so fast you don't have much time to think. Adrenalin takes over. It's hard to watch in a movie, but Stallone wanted the world to know that war happens all over the globe, right now, somewhere... People are suffering at the hands of others. And when Rambo says 'you won't change anything', my god does it punch hard. There will always be war, and genocide. Peace is very precious. This is why we all need to be a little kinder to each other, because at least we have that opportunity. Loved your reaction to the Rambo movies, Mr and Mrs. As always, thank you!
5:30 The fact that you guys paused your reaction to the movie to take the moment to address and appreciate your daughter's artwork shows what great parents you are. You guys are awesome.
Stallone was 61 when he filmed this movie and was in better shape than the entire rest of the cast and moved around and did stunts that the whole cast was shocked to see him do at his age. hey were ALL impressed.
The .50 cal is a massively devastating weapon with huge recoil. Heck my grandpa carried a BAR browning automatic rifle as his weapon of choice in world war 2 and he was only 5 feet 6 175 pounds. It was plenty powerful for him and that’s just a 30.06 caliber
This movie probably has one of the greatest lines I've ever heard and when he said it it inspired a lot of the Burmese people to try and change and it's simple it's really simple *"Live for nothing or die for something your call."* That line is so simple and yet so profound what are you living for? Why are you doing what you do? It isn't worth doing?
My Brother and I went to see this at a matinee when it came out and a group of about 20 elderly people came in and sat in the row in front of us. It must have been a nursing home excursion. Through this whole film, every time something truly gory or violent happened I looked at this old lady diagonal to me because she was so into it and softly saying, "WOW!" She must have been about 80. I love this movie. This is probably the best in the series for me. That 50 cal scene is epic!
aside from first blood, this is actually my fav rambo movie. had a hard time connecting with the other 2, but this one has it all. set up, drama, and action like we haven't seen in a long while. especially the turret section. shesh indeed. like, they really don't do them anymore like this, and this is sad.
Your Daughter is adorable. Tell her I liked her giraffe. At that age, I would have been eating the crayons rather than drawing with them. I thiink it's really sweet of you guys to share those technical difficulties with us. ❤
You are a lucky man to have a wife who enjoys these types of movies. Seeing her visibly into the movie and scenes. My wife just stares blank face at these movies when I get her to watch them and at scenes I expect excitement or reaction I turn and slightly and quietly sigh and dip my head when it gets no reaction.
This movie is too damn truthful! The scene where he has to avoid being seen in the village & the soldiers are making the girls dance, but he just has to keep going & avoid saving them and their screams still is one of the worst scenes I've seen in a movie. This is more frightening than a Freddy or Jason slasher movie.
This Rambo was definitely the most accurate depiction of real life war and all the grit and gore that comes with it , it’s just a brutal action movie and i loved it 😊🙏🏽
FYI the bomb that Rambo turned into a trap is called a Grand Slam, the second biggest bomb of WW2( excluding Nukes) and able to produce earthquake shockwave power for which it was designed for, penetrate hard surfaces and explode beneath the target causing the devastation you see in this movie. The 50 cal scene is the most accurate depiction of heavy machine gun fire on the human body. If someone already hasn't mentioned it already, all of the Burmese characters including the rebels pirates and soldiers are Karin they had a lot of fun making this movie and Stallone couldn't stop laughing and having fun along with them.
See, that ending is precisely why I don't like that they made "last Blood." Rambo finally went the fuck home. That's the end of the story. The End. But that's just me.
I love that they show what a .50 cal turret actually does to a person. I don't think people realize what a mess the thing leaves. The same goes for the .50 cal sniper rifle. Big bullets, big mess. People often say the movie is offensive because it's gory. Uh....real life is gory.
It's a giraffe as seen by a bird in flight, directly above it, so it looks potato-shaped. The artist is operating on a level you guys wouldn't understand.
As awesome as Rambo’s throat rip out. It wasn’t the first. The first throat rip I remember was in the movie; “ROADHOUSE” with Patrick Swayze made in 1989.
I love it when their daughter sneaks in during horror movies, and is not noticed until like 2 or 3 minutes later. Makes me laugh every time, and it's happened at least twice now.
You know...one of the segments I most appreciate about your videos is when you adorable daughter wanders into the room and you pause for a few seconds to acknowledge her. Glad that you don't edit that.
This was a great movie. And the first time i saw the damage a .50cal inflicts to soft targets accurately in one. Most movies just have people fall down when shot. That gun fires anti-material rounds meant to disable/destroy vehicles.
My wife was in Burma when the coup happened in February 2021. They had relative peace in the years 2015 to 2021. But the military is back at killing. Fortunately I was able to teavel to Thailand and facilitate her escape. It's horrific there again. The UN and international community have turned their backs on the people of Burma. There actually is a group who have been helping the internally displaced...look up the Free Burma Rangers. They're an amazing group of selfless volunteers.
Been a Stallone and Rambo fan ever since I was a kid in the 80s. I watched this movie in theaters, opening weekend. I was suffering through some mental health issues at the time and just the adrenaline rush from this movie, especially the final action scene, helped me A LOT! lmao it sounds like a joke: Rambo Cured My Depression! But it KINDA did 🤣
The actor that played the burmese leader in movie was wanted by the burmese intelligence for staring in this, also was a resistence fighter when younger
On one of those expert react videos, they had a former sniper rate this movie for realism and he said the fifty cal. Really does what they show in this movie!
Dear Lord! The absolute carnage in this movie is just on a whole other level from any of the other Rambo films! The first one is still the best one, but omg, this one is definitely the best sequel!!
I love when the babies interrupt. My daughter would do that all the time when she was little and I was gaming with friends late night. It's heart warming.
Rambo:First Blood was the first and best movie in the series for me, but all of them were great movies. Stallone is very much underrated as an actor snd screen writer. He’s responsible for some of the most iconic movies of all time.
I love this one. It's my favorite of the Rambo movies, but all are awesome. The throat rip was incredibly cool, and the heart scene in Last Blood was awesome. I love how Sly always adds a personal, moral touch to all of his works, it's not just violence.
Giraffe was 15/10. As for the movie, this is where it should have ended with Rambo finally going back to home. But no, Sly in all his genius decided to make Last Blood and good lord was it awful. The man never learned that you gotta stop when you're at the top.
This movie was so exciting to watch on the big screen when it was released. I was just happy that Rambo was finally back. Most brutal violence I've ever seen. More than any horror movie. Still a blast though.
The "sniper rifle" in this film is a Barrett M107 anti-material rifle. It's mostly used in situations like, say if you have to stop a truck that's barrelling towards a checkpoint, and less for actual sniper teams. It weighs 35 pounds, so it's not exactly something you want to bring along if you need to be able to move on foot.
The guy in the helicopter in the first one is the most satisfying. But this is definetly the best Rambo film. Watching Rambo get on that big gun and just tear this entire army apart is glorious. Disgusting and brutal but glorious.
I don't think you guys quite grasp the concept of kill confirmation. First of all, a Green Beret wouldn't have any, unless he's a sniper specifically because they're really the only ones who care to keep track, and secondly they require a witness. Usually the spotter.
This is the best Rambo. Best kill in this movie: 50 cal at point blank range on the driver. Best kill of all time: Tie between exploding arrow from part 2 & the heart stopper (last kill) from Last blood. Good reaction guys. 👍
3:45 - - Vipers have a V pattern on their head. - Cobras puff up their "cheeks" when threatened. - Most snakes with diamond shapes on their back are deadly. - Deadly snakes usually use warning signs: noise (rattle snakes), change appearance (cobra) and stance. - Most bites are warning shots. Using venom means being defenseless for several hours, so they usually avoid wasting it. Most
So... I never watched a "Reaction" video before. They suggested this same movie with the TBR SCHMITT folks Then They suggested you guys RAMBO Again! Wow I've gone full circle!
Coming back to this movie it really portrays a fine line on the message that you can't help everybody. We applaud and admire the work of institutions like doctors without borders, and yet, and I bet even they know, the "difference" they make means everything to the people they help.....only for the time they're there, wherever they are. Sad cruel world we live in, if we're on the western side of it we should be nothing but grateful and humbled.
I was an 0331(Machine gunner) in the Marine Corps and that scene with the Ma Deuce was accurate except for two things. It didn't constantly jam every couple rounds and even a round as big as a .50 won't send someone flying. Everything else was accurate though. From tearing limbs off to cutting someone in half to punching fist sized holes through vehicles to ripping right through crowds of men. Hell, I've seen it blow holes the size of a grape fruit straight through the engine block of a large truck.
Interesting bit of trivia, when the man turns up to ask John go search with the mercenaries, John wakes from a nightmare (you didn’t show the nightmare here) the nightmare uses some old footage from the first Movie’s original unused ending that is faithful to the book. In it, John dies and commits suicide when the Colonel is with him at the end and he grabs johns handgun. It was filmed but never used, so Stallone used it here.
When I saw this movie for the first time I stood up and cheered when Rambo destroys the two guys in the front of the jeep with the 50 cal. I’m not sure what that says about me.🤣
The actor who played the main bad guy, is a real life Burmese refugee. He was consulted often about what was really going on in the country. I believe it was him who told Stallone about the "game" where they make families run through a mine field.
When they stared watching the Rambo series, it was all leading up to the finale of THIS movie haha. That’s right, I’m talking about the .50 cal shootout.
I like seeing fans of dexter finding out that Julie played in RAMBO, because you wouldn't think of her playing in a RAMBO movie. also, great to see the return of 'what sound does a giraffe make"
You must have missed my comment 🙀…This one depicts more what real weapons do to a body especially heavy weapons…Rambo was trained in light and heavy weapons so when I took my training I tried to model Rambo’s background…My favorites is 1 and 4 and my favorite kills was the boat 🚤..
