+Lord Hagar I use Ableton Live. Its a little complicated at first, mainly because you dont know where everything is, but once you get to know it, its one of the best DAWs (Digital Arrangement Workstation aka music softwares) out there. In reality, all DAWs do the same thing. They all just have a different workflow. So honestly, id just get the demo [or somehow obtain the program ;)] and see what works best for you.

+OfficialJP I have looked at Ableton, likewise fruity loops and a couple of others -- Reason was my favourite, but the whole pricepoint is a bit ridiculous for someone who just wants to dabble like me
