"Vor Paris steht Mickey Mouse" is such a great line. A rare case of a pun in German. It used a take on a phrase from military history, which probably is best expressed in English as "Mickey Mouse is at the gates of Paris".

So well put together lyrics. Love the song. Even their "light hearted" songs have a taste of tragedy in it. What a smart way to wrap a criticism in humor. so you can have fun and think about it. With love from Germany 🤘🏻 😎

Really good commentary. I feel connected having being stationed at Rammstein and felt this attitude from my German friends.

To get the effect of lower gravity on the moon they played the song on double speed and everybody had to play their instruments / sing / act to it in double speed, too. Then they slowed it back down to normal speed. What a workout!! Luckily they all have a punk background - in punk who plays fastest, wins...

Interesting take on the video. I've always felt like the ending meant to make fun of 'moon landing conspiracies'. They enumerate countless effects the US had on the rest of the world. Conspiracy theories are (like the viral ones) are definitly part of that.

Pizza, Coca Cola and other stereotypical elements associated with America. This song came out in the wake of the Iraq War of 2003. There was a very strong anti-American sentiment in Germany at the time because the war was seen as unjust and the Americans as warmongers.

The last scene technicaly is a behind the scenes but not of the music video but of the moon landing. It‘s a reference to the conspiracy ideology that the moonlanding was faked…

The most ironic thing is, that the message of the song is America is infectious to the rest of the world with it's culture. And the band itself is a rock band and rock started in the US which means that American culture is even in the song itself. There are many layers to the message.

They made this song in English too and the English version was a lot nastier towards the US and it's influence on the word.
