There are references to the German children's TV show "Sandmännchen" (little sandman) that told the children that it is now time to go to sleep but before he tells a nice animated story. It started with the first and third line of the Rammstein lyrics "Nun liebe Kinder gebt fein acht, ich hab euch etwas mitgebracht." (Now dear children pay good attention, I have brought you something ...) Of course those stories were not scary. In German the "burning heart" can have two meanings, first enthusiasm or love for something or someone and second being very sad, depressive, or traumatized. In this case it is surely the second meaning. As far as I remember it from the making off, the location was a former orphanage. For this song - I assume - there are as many interpretations as listeners. So here is just my personal interpretation. The song is clearly about nightmares. But it has also references to child abuse. E.g. in West-Germany in the 60th and 70th there were so called "Kindererholungsheim" (children's convalescent home). Parents - in a large scale - were told that their children seemed to be sickly and some weeks in those institutes would be good for them. The health insurance paid for it. In fact, it was just a big business where children were "stored" at minimal costs. There was also plenty of physical and psychological violence and many children came back traumatized. (A lot of them are still suffering from this "experience".) As the members of Rammstein came from East-Germany, I'm not sure whether there were similar kind of cases in their environment which was even more restrictive than that in the west. From this perspective Till's role in the song/video seems to be a mixture of demon and victim in the same character. Like those children coming back from those "Kindererholungsheim", still carrying the demon (trauma) with them. Or maybe Till is the personification of pure pain.
If you enjoy the official videos, consider watching the official "Making of" videos. Quite insightful, but also shows the funny side of the Rammstein members. They typically have English subtitles ...
Thanks for another quick Rammstein reaction my friend. One suggestion. Don’t take your eyes off the video. You will miss something. Oh and speaking of eating something interesting, wait till you see the uncensored version of Knebel 😂
this is the second version of Mein Herz brennt as the first version the band weren't happy with it and did a reshoot which p off the first director ..the band later allowed both versions to be released, the girl with the hooped skirt is part of the first version, also there is a live piano version from 2013 hurricane festival
Yay!!! There’s a “Making of” for the video. It took them well over a year to complete the project because there was some differences in the material the 1st director/producer version wasn’t quite the vision the band had. I distinctly remember Paul having a bit of an image breakdown because they had to dress as disheveled asylum prisoners 😂. The piano you hear at the end of this video is a teaser for the piano version. It’s also dark, spooky, but beautifully composed 😊
Damn I have lucid dreams as well. The state of "I know that I am dreaming" can be super addictive. Did you train for it or did it just happen? I was able to induce lucid dreams when I was younger, but nowadays they just happen every now and then. Fun fact: There´s an episode of Star Trek Voyager where Chakotay trains Janeway to lucid dream and it actually works. It´s where he tells her to watch out if there´s a glowing moon outside the ship. It´s one of the actual techniques used to induce lucid dreaming. "Do you have 5 or 6 fingers?" "Do the numbers make sense or not" "Is the earth´s moon right outside your ship while you are lightyears away?" It does work lol
@@B-Drags-Den i would have nightmares where i was being chased and when i realised i was dreaming i flew away. that's how i found out you can do anything. except doing things i don't (want to) do in real life feels wrong in dreams. so try flying if you haven't, but make sure you try it from the ground... just in case you're not dreaming. 😉
@@B-Drags-Den normally i am too. when i am in a flat i stay away from the railing. even when i go wall climbing and i am secure with a harness and ropes i find it very very scary to let go off the wall to start absailing down. i can't even watch a video of other people climbing something high.
I for one love how your watching the OV and the live versions, it gives some perspective of the song. Some of the songs I like don't really have OV but maybe a fan made video but no live versions. Keep it going!
Hello dear. I saw, that you used Buckstabü's chanel for lyrics before, if I'm not mistaken. Another channel with good translation is the educatedmarine channel. He is british, but grew up in Germany. So knows german well. There you also find great song's translated, that don't have an official video or live performance. Some really hidden jewels. Definitely don't wanna miss out of those. With love from Germany ❤🤘🏻
It's called "lucid dreaming" (when you're aware that you're dreaming), consider yourself lucky, many people wish they could do it, there are even "how-tos" available. xD Please watch the making-ofs" of the videos, they explain why they did what and how.
I’m not sure the piano version is beautiful, I used the wrong descriptor there in regards to the video. it’s actually quite eerie. But the music is beautiful imo. I think you’ll enjoy the live piano version more.
