This song has caused some misunderstanding in Russia. How can a German band insult our beautiful city, was the criticism. But this is actually completely normal for many Rammstein songs. It is interesting that Moscow comes on the album directly after the song America.

On live concerts in Moscow it was received very well, no worse than "Frühling in Paris" in Paris or Te quiero, puta! in Mexico. Outside of Moscow, probably even better: most of Russians hate Moscow and Moscowites.

They do seem to suffer from people who don't get what they are saying jumping on them and putting an assumed negative or controversial spin on the sons.

While "Amerika" clearly say "This is not a Love Song" Me as a German, i experienced Russians and also Russia, its all about Family, Friendship, Respect and beeing fckn Honest. It´s just the 30% "western World" who don´t get it. Well capitalism isnt exactly about Family, Friendship, Respect and beeing fckn Honest, isn´t it?

Good reaction guys! The song is not exactly about insult Moscow. The meaning of the lyrics turns in a metaphorical way to describe the how sides of their society; one is rich, powerful, and other is just poor in search of money, gold and salvation like a w****. Always willing to sell ourselves in exchange of money or pleasure to survive.
