Ein geiler Text und Rhythmus. Die englische Übersetzung kann die ganze Sprache der deutschen Vielfalt niemals wiedergeben! Deutsch ist die Sprache der Feinheit, andere Sprachen sind da sehr einfach gestrickt! Auch die Härte in der Tonlage ist in anderen Sprachen nicht so gegeben. Daher hat Rammstein auch weltweit so einen Erfolg. Ich liebe Rammstein. 😊
@@Sonnenanbeterin1991 In der Jägersprache ist es Schweiß, die Blutfährte wird es nicht genannt, der Jagdhund geht auf die Schweißfährte! Das Lied heißt Waidmanns Heil!
@@Sonnenanbeterin1991 : Ja da hat Spatz recht. Das Blut von Wildtieren wird von Jägern als "Schweiss" bezeichnet. Das ist insoweit irritierent, weil umgangssprachlich die Körperflüssigkeit, die beim Schwitzen entsteht, auch als Schweiss bezeichnet wird.
Meine Tante ( Schwester von meinem Vater ( er ist leider schon verstorben )) ist "SCHON" oder "ERST" 81 Jahre alt und hört Rammstein zu Hause und hält sich ( ist wirklich so :-) ) mit der Musik von Rammstein und (auch) Lindemann Fitt. Konnte ich erst nicht glauben, bis mir meine Cousine also ihre Tochter Sonja das bestätigte, und in dem Moment fiel mir die Kinnlade runter ( Lach ). Da sieht man doch mal wieder das Musik gleich welcher Art für Menschen gleich welchen Alters nie verkehrt ist. Also, immer fleißig Rammstein hören ( eine halbe Stunde Täglich ) und man fühlt sich wieder wie Dreißig :-) ;-) :-) . Ein kleiner Tipp - Adios von Rammstein läßt die Beine ganz von alleine in Bewegung kommen ;-). Ich bin am 12. September 56 geworden und höre die Musik regelmäßig rauf und runter ( sehr zum Leidwesen meiner Frau, aber sie sieht es mir nach. Dafür schaut sie jeden Tag Shopping Queen und Zwischen Tüll und Tränen :-) ). Zum Geburtstag habe ich mir jetzt das Konzert von Rammstein in Paris Bercy gegönnt, und das ist besser als jeder Action-Film. Liebe Grüße aus Munster in der Lüneburger Heide !!!

The original meaning of "Heil" is something along the lines of wellbeing/health/it going well. That is propably the reason why it was used in that nazi greeting as it translates to wishing Hitler wellbeing.
There's a lot of stuff the Nazis co-opted and made their own, like their logo, which was around long before with different meanings. Waldmann's Heil = Forest man's Hail. Germany has a lot of forests to hunt game in- like much of western Europe. So, we get something like "Good Hunting".
And then the doom music kicks in 🤣 Ich bin in Hitze schon seit Tagen 🤘🏻🤘🏻 Wunderschön 😁😁 Wie Deutschland, auch ein guter Song. Wen man die ganser deutsche Geschichte kennt dann kann man das wirklich gut verstehen 😁
Wow, what a translation. "sweat" turns into "blood" (et cetera) and even the title itself poorly reflects the real meaning. "Good hunting" would be "[Auf eine] Gute Jagd!", Waidmanns Heil is the hunters salute among successful comrades. Some even make it when you finally hit that annoying fly, as kind of a joke. You then reply with "Waidmanns Dank!" ;)
The German text uses multiple expressions from the traditional hunter's language, i.e. very specific technical terms that sound weird even to a German who has no clue about hunting. That's why the translator obviously had some Problems to find adequate English terms. "Kahlwild" is indeed a technical term for female deer and related species. The "Kahl" part is meant figuratively and refers to the fact that those animals don't have trophies on their heads like their male counterparts. AFAIK the term "bald game" doesn't exist as a technical hunter's term in English, so the literal translation would make people think of hairless animals and would be just as wrong as e.g. to translate "Schildkröte" as "shield toad" instead of turtle or tortoise.There are a number of terms the translator obviously didn't understand. "Ich backe an" obviously doesn't mean "I start baking", but "I aim" (precisely: I put the rifle's hilt next to my cheek to aim)
I understood the song, then when i search for an English translation, i found two videos of different translations.. Deutsche Leute, bitte helft mir! Ive been learning German for a few months now..
When I saw the comments I expected worse. The translation isn't even close to as bad as some people here make it out to be. Mostly people who have no clue themselves complaining
@@janni_tuts_420 Are you a hunter? Kahlwild does mean female deer in German hunters jargon. Schweiß is what a hunter calls game blood once it leaves the body. That’s why the dogs are called „Schweißhunde“. Waidmanns Heil is used threefold in German, as „good hunting“ wishing a hunter a good hunt. As a salute as you pointed out, and as a congratulation if the hunt was successful: A: how did the hunt go? Hunter: I shot a capital deer A: oh, Waidmanns Heil! Hunter: Waidmanns Dank (Hunters thanks) so even though a lot of things in the translation are not precise, your examples are not wrong.
@@janni_tuts_420 Just because you're German doesn't mean you know the meaning of every German word, let alone their English translation. Kahlwild does in fact translate to femal game, and sweat in the context of hunting means blood (of game). The translator did a far better job than you ever would have. I'm not saying the translation is perfect, but it isn't bad either.
@@Robin93k I didn't say the translation was perfect, and I'll admit that this is probably the only really bad mistake. But this song is really hard to translate, and to be fair, 99.999999% percent of Germans won't know themselves what the hell is meant with "Ich backe an".
