love it, been working with a similar process 3d printing 2 different shoes for the forming, An inner and an outer. A solid (excuse the pun) method for taking virtual 3d models from the computer to production in the studio.
Great tutorial! Are there any books or website that cover how to build a set up like yours? Also, it looks like the template is wood and metal perhaps sandwiched together.. is that true?
Hi Noah, Thank you for the comment. The book Mold Making for Ceramics by Donald E. Frith has some information on making and using a jigger arm in Chapter 10. Ideally that is how we would have set up the template but we didn't have any metal on hand so we used masonite that had been coated with a few layers of Varathane wood sealer. Hope this helps!
I tried something similar but when the plaster starts to set If there are some residues on the blade/shoe, they can come down of it and ruin the prototype, how do you deal with that? those second coatings of plaster are made thin? or just same
