Alis leaned back on the table, the algae and grime around her contrasting sharply with her spotless clothes. She tapped her fingers on the table, counting down the seconds until they came. As always, the koi fish found her not long after the 33 second mark. “How long do you guys live?” She asked absently, already knowing she would get no answer but silence. And of course, a stare from them that would almost seem smug before she reminded herself of her Instructor’s words that fish did not have such emotions, and she is crazy if she considers otherwise. Then again, who really cares about the soundness of one’s mind anyways? Somewhere on the other side of reality, a girl trapped in the Inbetween silently sipped her bubble tea as she thought the same thing. Alis looked back at the koi fish, and again asked, "Why do you all come here? Why do I always see you?" Silence, just as the previous questions before. Just a smug look from them saying that they knew something she didn't, and she hated it. Frusterated, she found herself staring past the fish and to the shelves once more, reading scratches too faint and blurred to make any sense of, much less able to give her a faint location as to where she was. Not that she minded. After all, the small amount of time she spent here nearly every day away from Instructor and the hell of her home was a blessing she wouldn't trade for anything. Heh, if this continues on, she'll spend all of her savings on Ramune to get here. Just when she was feeling pleasent for once, the pull came. Like routine, she readily ignored it calling her away from the spot. If she was more optimistic, she would think that the time before it would call her was getting longer. But she wasn’t, so it only served as a reminder that she didn’t have much time here before she was launched back to suffer in her reality. She sighed, shaking her head to get rid of the thought, and her hair got caught in her mouth. _Mon dieu, I cut my hair to avoid things like this._ While spitting the strands out, her eyes caught a light shining on the outside of her arms steadily growing brighter. When she looked around, everywhere but the table she was leaning on was shaking, bubbles rising from them. An ache started to form in her head, and the koi were swirling around her in a frenzy. The ache quickly turned into a pounding in her brain and her hands moved to cover her ears. The table below her then succumbed to the shaking of the rest of the world, and she collapsed on the floor, digging her fingers into her skull. The pull was growing stronger, to the point that it would rip out her spine and insides if she didn't go back. But like hell she would. The pain she felt right now was nothing compared to the pain of meaninglessness and disappointment that'll await her when she returns. Every second she could delay was everything. She grit her teeth, and tried to force her eyes open against the agony. If she can open her eyes, she can stay for a few moments longer. Letting out a soundless yell, color exploded her vision. In the brief moments she could see, she could swear she saw flickers of others collapsed next to her, joining in her pain. She really was insane. Instructor was right. _Now that's a surprise._ And as if a switch had been flipped, it all stopped. Shaking, she dropped her hands from her head, and looked around her. Shelves were toppled on the floor, the boxes on them upturned, spilling their contents all over. Her focus pulled away from them as she groaned against the ringing in her ears. She unsteadily stood up, leaning on one of the legs of the flipped table, and looked behind her at the cause of it all. The cause, was a dark haired girl floating outside of the remains of the window, looking like she didn’t know how to breathe, staring fearfully at her. She opened her mouth to shout at her, but the pull decided at that moment to rip Alis from her spot and thrust her back into her reality. Her vision was blurred, barely able to see her hand in front of her, but she could still make out the empty marble tea bottle held loosely in her hand, with the marble lying broken in two pieces at the bottom.
i love every single one of these. You should ask Rush for a commision with you coming up with the story. He'll make whatever he thinks will suit the story 😗 it's kind of the reverse of what's usually going on.
Rush Garcia I mean, that’s the plan for the foreseeable future. Some will stand alone, some will be continuations, some will just be random stuff that i feel like writing with no connection at all to other stories. Honestly I’m just making it all up as I go along.
I remember discovering Ramune the song back in 2016. I quickly fell in love with it, I listened to it on the way to school and it's grown on me as a song I would listen to when I wanna be happy and the times are sad... So thank you Mr. Garcia, for reinvigorating my love for this song... For opening my eyes the same way 3 years ago...
you got no idea how happy I get when I see someone cover the songs of my favourite musical artist. Not a lot of people cover Ujico's pieces, so this kept me excited for the whole day. I'm about to listen to it now, I hope it lives up to my expectations. edit: It went beyond my expectations, never thought jazz would fit so well with this song. It's like bubble tea all over again.
This song is really special to me as it was one of the first Snail House songs I listened too. Two, nearly three years later and he’s still going strong. This rendition was so much fun!
A good while ago, I liked every single one of your videos the moment I clicked them. But then I started thinking... "am I biased towards liking your music, and its not actually all that good?" Since then, I set myself a golden rule of only giving a like to your videos after I listened to the end... It has been a year since I started... and I've liked every single one XP Keep up the greeeeat work, please? I need more orchestral music in my life
Ramune is an extremely nostalgic song for me, as it was one of the first pieces of music I listened to when music started becoming a major part of my art and my life. This orchestration captures the cute and bubbly sound of the original while adding an elegant orchestral flair to it. Thank you for this wonderful piece of music :)
You always transform these familiar pieces into something so fresh and exciting while retaining the feelings of the original song. Thank you for letting me hear such wonderful music in my life
I don’t even know how I found you, Rush. But I’m so happy I did. Your remakes of music are so amazing and just uplift my spirit every time I hear one of your works. Thank you for doing what you do.
See, I could do an interesting analysis from the perspective of an amateur composer on the awesome choices made in this song's arrangement and how it maintains, and even improves upon, the tone set by the original Ramune (ラムネ) by the man/myth/legend *Snail's House/Ujico* himself... but really, all I gotta say is that I'm jammin'
Thank you Garcia for including the link for the original, too! Now that the original song is delisted, your video serves as one of the few remaining links to it. Although it was unintentional, your work now serves as an important piece of internet preservation!
Excuse the heck out of me while I listen to this one repeat 50 times! One of my fave EDM artist's gets a masterfully done orchestral piece? Damn right!
Omygosh you always know how to appear to make me smile even when my day isn't the best, really thank you for giving us and making such amazing music. (Also am not so good at english so sorry if I made any mistake)
I am always amazed, and today I am considerably happy as Snails House is one of my favourites, so thank you. Makes me imagine what pixel galaxy would sound like orchestrated...
Glad to see you back mate! Was actually on your channel earlier today wondering when you'd upload next, then I see this pop into my feed! Great job on the song though, it's definitely up to your quality. (The mindblowing, put on repeat for multiple days kind.)
